The fact that Mr. Compress has to call out Deku for using a verb with posessive connotation when saying “Give him back” (implied ‘back to me’) is so hardcore and then Deku swearing (something he only does when he imitates Bakugou) shows how much he really cares and how out of it he is in this situation. 

He wants to save Tokoyami because that’s what a hero does but he’s trying to save Bakugou as “Deku”, trying to protect his most precious bond which is Kacchan, his childhood friend. These two are Deku’s strongest motivations
