anyways i think regulus was actually a very good swimmer, that's why, when he entered the cave and saw the water, he wasn't afraid.
he has been swimming almost his whole life, the water makes him feel grounded, at peace. he used to go to the black lake some nights, just floating, staring at the sky -the stars- and the feeling of water made him feel at ease. there wasn't the usual loud and mean thoughts in his head, just the sound of water and the coldness turning into warmth.
when he told kreacher to go, he went to the water, and for a moment it was quiet, familiar, just like the nights at the black lake.
then the first inferi came, and then the second, third, fourth.
he was a good swimmer, but when you are being dragged down there's nothing you can do.
it was cruel, how the last thing he felt was terror, coming from the only thing that used to give him peace.
I lied... put your clothes back on I'm going to explain the political enviroment in the Harry Potter series. Some people are so dumb.
Starting with sentient minorities.
Goblins: A total Jewish charicature, they handle the money, nobody, including the light side likes them. There were massacres.
Centaurs: Rape joke, they live in the forest and again, nobody likes them. Half-breed isn't a pure-blood supremacist spesific slur.
Giants: They were seen as less inteligent beings and that is somehow makes opressing them okay. Again nobody likes them.
Werewolfes: Remus Lupin was tolarated by everyone because he was suppressing all of the aggresivity he possess and that was his biggest flaw. We don't have any likeable werewolves aside from him. There is a pack where a werewolf bites children and took them because their parent's doesn't want them anymore. Nobody treated Remus as equal either. Hence another opressed minority. By all.
Vampires: They have rights against Vampire hunting. The only minority in the books that fought for rights but Vampires aren't present in the narrative.
House Elves: They were supposed to symbolise house-wives but... yeah they are Slaves. Wizards have slaves, doesn't matter what side they are in.
Obscurials: You have to get tortured by people who tries to supress your magic to became one, mostly muggles. There is no place for them in wizarding world too. If they got revealed they are forced to stay in the hospital rest of their lifes.
Squibs: No matter what they don't reside in wizarding world. Maybe it's understandable if Black's do it but... Weasleys? The questions are coming.
Muggle-borns: We know it, the whole series was about that. They make %10-%25 of the population depending on the source. Aside from Voldemort and blood-purists, they don't seem to be "systematicaly" oppressed until book 6. There are a few instances with Hermione and Ron which indicates cultural shock aspect of it but yeah... And there is trace, which seems like a torture.
Pure-bloods: Ron says most wizards are half-bloods so pure-bloods are a minority but half of the people in the main story are pure-bloods, JKR is weird about it. Pure-blood supremacy was rare before the witch trials and everybody saw it as a weird thing to do but after the trials some wizards stopped marrying muggles and muggle-borns. Malfoys and Black's weren't pure-blood supremacists until the trials. The first Black to go that path was a half-blood. Pure-blood politics are weird. Potters, Longbottoms, Prewetts, Weasleys, Browns, Macmillans, Crouchs, Abbotts were all pure-blood families, which means they married only pure-bloods and half-bloods for generations. Questions are there. Never explored. They are not oppressed per-se in the text, they are generally rich and being a pure-blood is a choice. Cultural side never explored but Dark Arts being old magic and religious aspect of it could be considered .
So everybody in the series are "fascists". Thanks. This is a story written by the worst faschist in the last decade. It's not that hard to shut up.
Regulus Black realising how badly he wants to live, seconds before he’s about to die. it’s so scrumptious every time
