The next installment of my Frankenstein animatics is out!! LITERALLY BY THE SKIN OF MY TEETH I BEAT MY DEADLINE. Now please excuse me as I pass out from my drawing marathon.

How did you get into the monkees? And how do you do your highlights on your art? I love the sunny look of it all! :)

To be honest, I got into the Monkee’s because of my mom! She used to be a fan of it as a kid, and lately we’ve started our own little tradition of watching 50’s/60’s movies, so she showed me the show and a couple of their songs.

Now I’ve become absolutely obsessed!! I just love the vibe they give off :)

And how I do my highlights is honestly a mix of Overlay and Add layers. I generally stick with yellows, oranges, and pinks to keep it warm! But honestly just a whole lot of futzing with different light modes. Hopefully I explained this alright! I’m working on not over explaining everything I want to say.

(Also mixing up your soft edges and hard edges with subtle blurring can make your art look soft and glowy!)

I’m so glad you like the lighting, it’s honestly my fav part of the process :)
