Look what I made! Salmon Run themed prompts for October! Salmon Run is obviously my favorite game mode, and I want to dedicate October to it because I was honestly scared of it when I first played it. I would love to see some people follow this list because Salmonids are really cool!!

Splatoon means art

Splatoon means a lot to me, it really does. I first heard about it from a close friend 1st to 2nd grade, and I loved the concept. Who wouldn't love a squid person who could shift in and out of kid to squid form, and would shoot paint out of a water gun? I didn't play the game at that time, and I lost interest after a bit, but it stuck.

Sooner than later, I got my hands on Splatoon 2, after the Splatpocalypse. I adored the game, even if I didn't have online at the time. I made many memories playing the hero mode. I remember running around trying to find all the sunken scrolls, hungrily eating up the lore like a madman. I eventually got online, and had a blast playing turf war. I then got my hands on the Octo Expansion, and that was probably one of the best things I've done. It was just so amazing to finally play through after a long time. I knew a lot of the lore because I went online to search for it. Then I ended up forgetting about the game in my infamous Sonic phase. One of my favorite memories playing Splatoon 2 was playing Salmon Run for the first time. The training scared me so bad, I avoided Grizzco at all costs, but eventually I decided to try it out, and after that, I've been a Salmonid lover forever.

I don't remember when I got Splatoon 3, most likely a Christmas a year or so ago, when we went up to Minnesota to visit family. Our switch didn't have much space for it, so we had to push the switch to add it in. I was very excited to play. But after a bit, I lost interest, going into my love of Warriors Cats once more. This is where the channel comes in, and I do a lot of Warriors stuff. I believe somewhere in February of this year, I had a dream about playing Splatoon 3 again, and so the next morning, I decided to try and force my switch to get the game running again. It took some pushing and pulling of data, but I got it to work, and I've been playing ever since. I've gone far down the rabbit hole of lore, analyzing as many things as I could to understand the story and it's themes.

This phase of loving Splatoon came to me while I was in a dark moment in my life. A longtime friendship was falling apart, and it did fall apart soon enough. Splatoon was able to get me through that, and it was a place I could escape to when life got rough. It's a world full of color and art, something that I love. I am an artist and a musician, a creative and a writer. I am LGBTQ+, and Splatoon is a safespace for all of those things.

Splatoon, at its core, is about art. It's about embracing yourself and seizing the moment, creating a mess just for the fun of it. You paint with all the colors of the rainbow, and you might end up saving the world because of it. This world is our own, far, far, far in the future. Splatoon is a warning against climate change and war, for humans are gone because of their own sins. It warns against total chaos and total order, and it's a warning against the evil systems that we as humans struggle under. The world of Splatoon is a world where you can escape from the pain of life into a silly game with humanoid squids and octopi who shoot each other with paint guns.

Salmon Run, and the Salmonids, have become a big interest of mine. The Salmonids are my comfort characters, and I find comfort in them by relating in some way. In real life, I'm quite unique compared to the uniformity of girls in my grade. I don't conform, I'm loud and proud, and I'm strange. Compared to the rest of the cast of Splatoon, the Salmonids are strange and don't conform to the norm. They have their own society and culture that is vastly different from everybody else. I get bullied every once and a while, and the Salmonids get exploited and mass murdered for their resources because others see them as animals and not people! Of course, that's a really big jump, but can't you see the contrast? I see myself in the Salmonids, which is why I love them very dearly. I want Nintendo to do more with them sometime. I want more of my comfort creatures.

The Grand Festival has been a roller coaster of emotions. I just finished crying over Daybreaker Anthem, and earlier, I was sobbing over Three Wishes. I'm really happy that I was able to experience such an event, and I'm looking forward to whatever Nintendo has next for the Splatoon series. I'm going to cherish these memories forever. No matter who wins, I want to wish all of you a good game. Past, present, future, we're all the same in the longevity of time. We're just a small piece in the vastness of history, so let's savor that small piece while we still have it, okay?

Shine on!

It's nice to hear that the show is coming along well. I hope ypu have fun out there.

But now, fish. Do you have any theories about the King Salmonids, like what they are or where they came from? I don't think I've seen any theories about their lore, and the canon lore is pretty minimal. But maybe that's a good thing because it leaves tons of room for speculation.

Unrelated, but I think the Salmonids are really competive when it comes to sports.

HIII AGIAN SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY I FORGOT ABOUT THIS

FISH

I've tried my best to come up with reasons for why King's become Kings, and my explanation is really, really, really hard training. All Salmonids become their roles through their environments and their training. Lax training + steady environment doesn't breed good soldiers. I imagine the King Salmonids were picked at birth to undergo intense training to become Kings. I have this with my OC Haggy, who is a half trained Horrorboros who went blind in the middle of training. She comes from a family of Horrorboros's, so she has many eyes watching her as she goes through the training. She struggles because she has a unique condition which causes her to produce more explosive saliva than the rest of her family (i imagine that Horrorboros comes from Steelheads and Big Shots). She then goes blind due to a run in with some Grizzco employees, and she is so disheartened by it that she exiles herself as to not face criticism from her family.

Haggy is pretty much a good example. Kings go through non-stop training and conditioning to reach such forms, but throughout it, they are in pain. But, they keep driving forward, which is normal for Salmonids. They are here to defend their species and their future, and nothing but death will stop them.

As for the second statement, I agree 100%. Put them in Turf War and many of them would be getting red cards for bad plays (either by recklessness or not knowing the rules). It would be really funny to have Salmonids in Turf War though. I imagine one guy getting sniped multiple times and just fumming with anger because he lost.

I want playable Salmonids (probably not in turf war because they would have a disadvantage)
