Can we talk about how inherently sad the confession scene is -- no matter what way you spin it.
On one hand you have an unrequited love confession in the form of a sacrifice. Showing that one person’s love for another was not only powerful enough to kill, but powerful enough to die for.
On the other hand, you have the woeful tale of two lovers. Destined to have everything from their own upbringings to god himself come between them. Their love is so powerful, yet so unforgiving. Their love could quite literally break apart entire worlds. Their love comes as the physical manifestation of free will.
It's almost Shakespearean.
You have the angel who never thought the other man loved him, and you have the hunter who thought the angel simply couldn't love in the first place.
You have Juliet. Willing to leave everything she's ever known for love. Willing to die for it. Willing to choose to kiss the frozen lips of death just to protect it.
And then you have Romeo. Wherefore art thou Romeo? When faced with the death of his love, he simply couldn't keep on living. He couldn't keep on loving. He had given the last piece of himself away and simply couldn't do it anymore.
Oh how unfair it is. Just as they both realized where their true happiness lies, just as they realized it was within their grasp, just as they realized the answer was- it was snatched away from them. Like the flick of a switch, filling the room with nothing but darkness.
If their love is their light then black is the absence thereof. Fitting the angel gets swallowed by nothingness -- swallowed by emptiness -- swallowed by black. Fitting that's where only one of them gets to go. Because even in death their curse is still carried.
Their curse of a loveless ending like no other.
“For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.”
Their tale is not that different from what is arguably the single most famous piece of romantic literature in history.
Except, it is different. Because Juliet knew she was loved as she took her final breath.
This has got me laughing so hard, it's amazing
Dean: *clears throat*
Sam: *looks up, frowning, and elbows Eileen to get her attention*
Dean: "I just, uh, I just wanted to tell you guys I've come to a realization."
Sam: "This should be good."
Dean, glaring at him: "Can it, bitch. So, this is probably gonna come as a shock-- heh, well, I know it was a shock to me--"
Eileen *signing to Sam*: "Is he having a stroke?"
Dean: "--but I, uh, I love Cas."
Sam, standing up: "Oh God. Didn't we just see him? We need to-- Eileen can you text him? I'll try praying--"
Eileen: "Yeah of course." *grabbing her phone and frantically texting Cas*
Dean: "What-- what are you two doing?"
Sam, with his hands clasped: "I don't understand how he managed to die between breakfast and now, what is wrong with the two of you?"
Dean: "Who died?"
Eileen: "Cas. That's why you realized it right?"
Dean:
Dean: "No, you fuckers, he's fine. He's in the shower, damn it Sam stop praying. I wanted to ask your advice on--"
Cas *with wet hair, suddenly materialized in the room*, deeply annoyed: "Who's dead now and why couldn't it wait? Hello Dean."
Dean, staring at Cas:
Eileen, excited and unable to read anyone's lips but able to see eyefucking: "Did Cas say I love you back??"
Just woken up in the best way possible. My older brother woke me up by telling me we were going to watch supernatural.
I finished supernatural, but I still have the itch to watch it, so this is the best solution I can find.
I went to wake my other brother up so we could watch supernatural, and so I went into his bed (it wakes him up) and then he told me "get out you bitch" and I saw an opportunity so I got out and said "okay jerk." And then my older brother said (by the way my brothers are still on season one episode three) "get up you assbutt"
And I had to tell our mom (she got us into supernatural) and she laughed and said that she raised us right.
I'm too going to start doing this.
recently when im tempted to say 'i'm gonna kill myself' i try to correct it into saying "im gonna walk into the river and become a trout" or some other form of that. this is my new thing

I have two episodes left of supernatural... I watched season 15 episode 18 last night, I cried... I didn't think I was going to cry while watching it, besides that (so far) I've only cried one other time while watching supernatural (the first time Sam died)
Update: oh my Chuck. I cried three separate times just in the last episode...

And I OBVIOUSLY asked them for permission, showed the covers and asked if they're okay with the ops. And they were BOTH on board. And Jensen saw the book, laughed and was like "yeah, let's do it."

At some point DeanCas have had a specific, weirdly intense conversation that starts when Dean, barely cognizant of what he's been rambling at Cas, is totally at ease under Baby and listening for Cas's occasional replies. Cas is rifling through his wallet, because Dean made him hold onto it and reading off fake identities while Dean hums a reference song that Cas can barely comprehend despite all the languages he knows but Cas just goes with it. Then Cas asks why all of them list Dean as an organ donor. And Dean, still in that weirdly honest haze, says that they've had so many close shaves with death. If it's possible, or there's another serious car accident, he'd want his life to mean something after. And Castiel yanks him out from under the car and Dean realizes he's made a serious mistake here and groans at the look on Castiel's face because he's not drunk enough for this.
Jensen actually managed to make destiel x76 times more tragic when he said that Dean didn't believe Cas could feel romantic love because angels aren't wired that way.
I mean.
Can you imagine season 4/5 Dean realizing he's attracted to a "monster"? That not only is Castiel not human, but also a man. How much John would have hated that and how many sleepless nights have Dean spent thinking about it?
Then he starts caring more and more about Cas,m until one day Dean realizes that it isn't just attraction or friendship that he's feeling. But how could it be anything else but unrequited? Angel don't feel that way, can't feel that way.
And Cas keeps dying and every time it feels like a part of Dean dies too, except it never comes back, even when Cas does.
Dean spends years burying his feelings, believing that it could never be shared or acted on, that Cas will never be able to love him back in the same way. Yet unable to seek a relationship with anyone else because he doesn't want anyone else. If all Cas can give him is friendship and devotion, Dean will take it. He'll take anything as long as Cas stays by his side (except he never really does, does he?)
Then Cas confesses and Dean is shocked, left gaping and unable to find words because he never believed he would get to talk about this. He has so many things to say and all those words are stuck in his throat. There are just so many of them that he's chocking on it all, unable to get anything out except Cas' name. And then he realizes it's his last chance to say them. That even if Cas loves him back, Dean will never get another chance to say it, to live it.
Cas throws him to the side and that's it, it's over, Cas is disappearing before his very eyes and he still doesn't know that he's loved, that he was always loved. Dean's mouth is opened all along around the words he can't bring himself to say, that he's hidden for so long that he can't find them fast enough.
Cas is gone and Dean's words turn into sobs.

the funniest thing about castiel gotta be how he always touched Dean when healing him while never touching anyone else.
Never anyone that wasn't Dean.
I voted Amara and Chuck should've had a third sibling they forgot about.
I think Sam's hair should've had its own episode, like Baby did.
*I mean, every time they couldn't afford to have Misha on the show, they should have explained Cas' absence by saying he died.
“Cas, where have you been all this time? We were celebrating Jack's birthday and you weren't there!"
"Oh, sorry, I was dead. But I got better, so it's alright."
