Inej respects Kaz inability to be touched.

Kaz respects Inej trauma. He doesn’t make her get a tattoo and when he kisses her neck, he does it very slowly thinking she might push him away. 

They always describe in detail how the other person is reacting and might be feeling. Even though they are deeply traumatized they don’t just focus on themselves.

Inej respects Kaz trauma and she wants to save him but she is not willing to give up her dreams and the chance of a happy life doing so. She is not losing herself in him or in her love for him.

Kaz knows that if he wants to keep Inej he need to at least try to overcome his issues or maybe tell her everything that happened to him so she could fully understand the impact it had on him. And he decides to make 3 steps forward! Cloves off, holding her hand, meeting her parents but letting her go AND letting her come back to him, if she wants to.
