I Like The Idea Of Kiba Being One Of The Few People Who Truly Gets Shinos Love And Attachment For Bugs.

I like the idea of Kiba being one of the few people who truly gets Shino’s love and attachment for bugs. Because that’s basically him with Akamaru and sort of growing up in a family where dogs are such a huge part of your life. He understands what it’s like to have this love for something some people might dismiss just because they don’t understand. He knows what it feels like to have an animal be your best friend and to be able to understand them and vice versa better than anyone.

He gets it and Shino really appreciates that. He’d expect someone so extroverted and loud like Kiba to be turned off by his insectariums but it’s a pleasant surprise when he’s met with delight instead. Like yeah sure, Kiba is not gonna like all of Shino’s insects. He still thinks some of them are creepy and terrifying but he can understand the beauty in most of them perfectly. He understands what it’s like to have to approach something with gentle respect and understanding. To not blame them for simply being what nature intended for them to be.

Shino himself doesn’t dismiss Akamaru just because he’s the absolute opposite of the things he personally likes. He still makes space for him because being friends with Kiba is to be friends with Akamaru and Shino also understands. Kiba can be excited about showing him the new trick he’d taught Akamaru and in return he’s just as intrigued when Shino brings out his new Goliath Beetle. They’d be good friends and I like that

It makes me so fucking happy when people stand up for the rights of animals who don’t normally get much attention. Fish and insects, particularly. And spiders. Because you have people who will agree that eating meat is wrong but then they’ll still eat fish because “they’re not intelligent anyway”. Or people who would never stomp a puppy or a kitten but become enraged when you point out that they also have no right to do that to a spider. I love being around people who take spiders and insects outside, and I love talking to all my vegan friends on tumblr. I hope the whole world will be like this someday.
