there's just smth so special abt watching a shonen protagonist that's overflowing with empathy fight tooth and nail to protect what's dear to them

idk if this point has already been made (i feel like it has?) i know this is not the only example of sasuke doing this also. but i saw this gif and immediately thought of this. when he does this? it has the exact same vibe as when a mother breaks too fast in a car and throws her hand up to guard the baby. like. that baby is in a booster seat. with a seat belt. you are literally accomplishing nothing by reaching around to the back seat to guard the baby. but they do it anyway. and that's love. it's an instinct to protect your most beloved, your child. even if you have already used other methods to ensure their safety, you still instinctively throw your hand up, almost as if it's not enough, like they need the extra protection. even if the hand literally provides no protection, you still do it. almost like you're desperately trying to make them as safe as possible. you're not thinking about whether the hand will help at all. bc it's an instinct.

that's literally what sasuke's doing. naruto is in kyuubi mode where he heals faster. sasuke is activating his ultimate defense, the susano'o. that hand is not going to do anything to save naruto. but he does it anyway, instinctively

My personal interpretation of the moment Jinx shoots Silco is not that she got overwhelmed by her demons and lashed out at them, but that she instinctively went to protect Vi.

She's lashed out at her demons before (obviously, she shot "Mylo" mere minutes before that) but the fact that she raises her head and looks towards Silco (I think, that's how it looks to me) when he chambers the bullet because she hears the click, plus she doesn't really shoot randomly around the room like she would at the demons surrounding her, she almost exclusively shoots towards Silco's side of the room, showing me that she was attacking whatever she knew was about to attack Vi.

And I don't think she really registered it as Silco, she didn't think she was attacking her father, but not because she was attacking her demons, it's because she was only attacking Vi's threat.

Only after she's achieved the protection of Vi does she realize that Silco was the threat.

Someone else said that "her last act as Powder was to kill Silco", I think in the same way it was to protect Vi like she meant to all those years ago when her monkey bomb finally worked.
