Johnny Depp And His Legal Team Brought Up How AHfailed To Donate The $7M Settlement To Charity As Promised

johnny depp and his legal team brought up how AH ‘failed to donate the $7M settlement to charity as promised’ as a way to attack her credibility.  nevermind that AH had to pay shit tons of money in legal fees to defend from depp’s attacks in the US and UK.  but now unsealed court documents show that depp and AH never signed a prenup before their marriage, entitling her to ½ of depp’s earnings from a POTC movie filmed in 2015 (probably around $33M). AH declined, and said she didn’t want the money.  

ultimately, in the divorce, against advice of her attorneys, she settled for far less than she was entitled to, and then donated sizable portions of that to charity

and if you’ll remember, depp LITERALLY didn’t want to pay her this much lower figure!!! he tried to argue that he should be able to donate it directly to charity, rather than giving to AH to do with as she saw fit.

filed by an individual or a group, an amicus brief allows people who are not party to a legal case but who have a significant interest in it and relevant expertise to present information they feel may influence the court's ruling. these briefs, filed by legal experts, domestic violence advocacy groups, and free speech advocacy groups, follow the recent publishing of an open letter in which 300+ domestic violence organizations and experts publicly stated their support for heard.

amber heard is one of the strongest women i know and what happened to her is one of the most terrifying and horrifying stories of abuse because not only was she violently abused by a man way older and more powerful than her for years of her life but said man also knew exactly how to use his power to get people from all around the world on his side so everyone would willingly help him to abuse her further. i used to say that i am mostly afraid of the consequences this will have for other victims of abuse who will now be silenced even more easily or won’t even dare to speak up anymore in the first place, and i still am, but im also incredibly sorry for amber heard as an individual who definitely faced the worst of it all.
