genuinely one of the worst things that’s happened to television in the last few years (exacerbated by streaming services) is death of Filler. going from 20 episodes to 8 because “we didn’t really need that episode where the main characters went to the beach right? it had no long lasting effect” but we DID!!! we needed to see how they act without the Big Bad Plot and to establish the dynamics between the characters and lay in the sun (do they forget sunscreen? how do they react to a thieving seagull? do they get buried in the sand or do they do the burying?). the plot isn’t everything. the action doesn’t hit as hard without the quiet moments. give us character development and our little scenes back

They're different, but I think they would make a good couple (romantically or platonically). Their experiences are somewhat similar: they were both raised by men who became central figures in their lives, they are both lieutenants without zanpakuto, but skilled in other areas.

Obviously, Nemu's life was much sadder and more tragic, especially given the fact that she never had a chance to break free from Mayuri and ultimately sacrificed herself for him. Therefore, I prefer the scenario where Nanao helps her to understand that she shouldn't have to suffer and be okay with the role Mayuri has reduced her to. Sadly, it seems that Nemu wouldn't accept that thought if Mayuri remains alive and continues doing everything to prevent her from escaping. So, the ideal variant is AU where he dies instead of Nemu in the fight with Pernida. She would then have to learn how to live on her own and make important choices in life. Remember, she didn't even choose how to dress – Mayuri did it for her!

Nanao would be an ideal person to become Nemu's friend and potential romantic partner. She's smart but also kind, and she would have the patience to understand that dealing with that kind of trauma can't be easy, but she believes that saving the other person is worth it. Also, Nemu can observe Nanao's relationship with Shunsui. She can compare it to her own memories and experiences to understand what a normal bond with a close relative looks like. They could learn kido or martial arts together, read books, and simply enjoy life. So many possibilities come to mind, ahhhh
