Today, I went to visit my dad’s cousin, who is a professional artist who teaches art on the side, and my dad mentioned that I draw. I was already internally cringing, but his cousin was SO chill, and he wasn’t even upset or anything when I didn't want to show anyone my art. He just showed me a bunch of his and his students’ pieces and then recommended a some art supplies and a local art store nearby. I came out of that experience thinking, sir, where have you been my whole life. Maybe there really is a god.

About an hour later, I’m at my aunt and uncle’s place, and I go to show my dad how well my new sketchbook handles ink. My aunt, seeing that I’ve drawn something, asks to see what I’ve drawn. I tell her I’m not comfortable with that. She starts coming over anyways. I close my sketchbook and hold it close to my chest. She grabs my arm and tries to PHYSICALLY PRY THE SKETCHBOOK FROM MY ARMS. So I do the reasonable thing and fucking leave the room, and she does the asshole thing and tries to follow me, but after a while she gets the memo that I am not showing her shit, and she gets all pouty and leaves.

She comes back like 5 minutes later and sees me drawing again, and asks what I’m drawing, so I close my sketchbook. Then she tries to guess what I’m drawing, so I just keep shaking my head, and when that fails, she asks if I can draw HER. I tell her I can’t draw faces, and she gets all pouty and leaves again.

why can’t people who don’t draw be fucking normal and respect my privacy for two seconds??? Is that so difficult????
