i wonder how he and speedwagon met? perhaps he saved speedwagon from drowning when he was tossed overboard in a mutiny? or maybe speedwagon saved him, when he was stranded on a beach and dying of dehydration?

I imagine that they met in a similar scenario to Disney’s adaptation of The Little Mermaid 🥰

A bad storm wiped out Speedwagon’s ship. Only him, Amato (kempo), and Cronin (tattoo) survived. Jonathan found them drifting in the wreckage, so he carried them to shore.

Speedwagon woke up a little bit after he was rescued. At first he got scared but quickly grew fond of Jonathan and eventually fell in love yada yada blah blah. I don’t have the energy to draw it all out but here’s a scribble 🙏
