I really hate to beg, but can more people PLEASE reblog this? Pretty, pretty please? I worked harder on this than any of my other digital art, spending nearly 5 hours on it. I originally posted it nearly 3 weeks ago, and so far it’s only gotten 7 notes. It actually has the least notes of anything I’ve ever posted. :( Original artist’s note: I heard it was canon that Oscar and Felipe died together. While the cause is unknown, it is widely speculated to have either been an accident or an illness. I went with the latter when drawing this.

PLEASE REBLOG, DON’T REPOST! YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO UPLOAD THIS TO PINTEREST OR ANY OTHER WEBSITE.
This is not official! I don’t even really know if this even looks good enough that I’d need to say that, but, y'know, just in case, no, this is not official. This is an idea that’s been nagging at me for a while and wouldn’t go away, so I finally decided to make a mock-up poster for it.
And to get this out of the way, yes, I did trace a bit–Imelda was partially traced from Miguel and the Amazing Alebrijes and Héctor was partially traced from the sticker set. … And then most of the background was painted over the original poster I made this from. I wanted to emulate the Miguel and the Amazing Alebrijes style and make sure I got the setup of the poster right, so a bit of tracing was necessary. With that out of the way…
I’ve daydreamed a lot about the idea of a Coco animated series and what it would entail. In all likelihood, if there ever WERE an animated series, it would probably be focused on Miguel and/or Socorro, post-movie, with B-plots featuring Héctor and the rest of the dead Riveras, and maybe occasionally Ernesto. I would guess that would be the thing Disney/Pixar would most likely go with if something like this ever happened, because kids like Miguel and would want to see him in a cartoon.
But even so, another idea struck me… What if a Coco animated series focused on… well… Coco? What if it was a prequel series? Again, I know it’s probably not likely, but… hear me out!

I wanna know Imelda’s initial reaction to being unable to cross the bridge.
She’s never had problems before. She’s always been able to cross, because her familia always puts her photo up. Her photo has been up since her very first year on the other side.
So can you just imagine, Imelda stepping up to the scanner after watching her brothers move along ahead of her. She stares sternly at the scanner, not even giving it a second thought–in fact, she’s probably thinking about some shoe orders the family will start on after Día de los Muertos, or whether or not Miguel is working in the shop yet, or anything other than the scanner.
She hears the buzz of denial but it doesn’t register at first. She’s ready to start walking, but freezes when the sound finally does register and the clerk looks at her nervously.
“Sorry, señora, but you don’t seem to have a photo–”
“What?”
So what happened between then and the scene in the station where she demolishes that computer??
