Sorry to ask but can you explain the subspecies of the Trolls? I read once that Branch is a rainbow troll and I definitely know Guy Diamond is a glitter troll. Is there any difference between rainbow, gem, and glitter trolls? Also, which type would each of the Snack Pack be?

A lot of the troll subspecies are written on the labels of their plush toys (specifically the Macy’s plushes, I know that for sure) which labeled both Branch and Poppy as rainbow trolls, so they’re for sure rainbow trolls.

Suki is also clearly a gem troll (as is Cybil, she has a bindi-gem, btw) and Guy Diamond is clearly a glitter troll.

According to concept art, Creek was also originally supposed to be a gem troll, with a gem on his tummy like Suki, but if Cybil’s design isn’t an abnormality, it seems gem trolls don’t necessarily HAVE to have their gems on their tummies, so Creek may possibly still be a gem troll, but his gem could be, say, on the back of his neck, and he just haven’t seen it?

Cooper’s subspecies is a little vague. Most sources, including the art book, says he’s an “animal troll”, but some merchandise refers to him as a “mystical troll”?? We’ll go with animal troll. They’re based on animal toys that joined the original troll toy line.

Fuzzbert…… I really don’t know…. what he’s called. Are trolls like him a subspecies of their own? I know there are a couple more like him, but maybe it’s a birth defect? Not really sure, there ;-;

Other than that, there no hints towards the subspecies of the other members of the Snack Pack. Smidge, Satin, Chenille, and Biggie don’t have any concepts that suggest either rainbow or gem trolls, or any other previously unmentioned subspecies. Perhaps there are some pieces of merchandise that say, but I don’t know them :/
