art is a shield agent that gets kidnapped from his apartment one night. he is taken by hydra agents and administered with a dose of howard stark’s super soldier serum. they want to turn him into the next winter soldier, they tell him. they want to restart the wolf spider program, they tell him. they succeed at doing both. shield gives up the investigation after three years. art, at this point, has undergone severe brainwashing and memory wiping to ensure that he doesn’t run. being a shield agent, he was already skilled in combat and reconnaissance, but hydra ensured that he became a skilled assassin in the three years that shield was looking for him. he is extremely good at what he does and he hasn’t gotten caught once. ten years later, a shield agent is murdered in her apartment. the investigation leads to an underground bunker in new rochelle, new york. in the bunker are hydra agents, a cryostasis chamber, and art donaldson. art is rescued and taken into shield’s custody, where he begins to attempt to undo all of the trauma that hydra put him through.

dodge

dodge is a shield agent that’s searching for the mercenary that killed his sister. he joined the agency at eighteen and he’s been working his way up the ranks ever since. he’s seen as an incredible asset to the agency and is typically the first one on the scene whenever there’s trouble. the younger agents say that he’s fearless, but dodge knows better. it’s easy to be fearless when you have nothing to lose.

pre games

riff lives in district twelve, along with his best friend tony and their friends. when he was twelve, he ran away from home. he had planned to get on a train to the capitol, but he didn’t have the money for a ticket. he hid from the peacekeepers in tony’s trash and tony took riff home to his mother after he found him. the boys quickly become inseparable and they, along with other boys in district twelve, quickly become notorious for getting into trouble. they’ve never really been caught, but they’re considered a nuisance by pretty much every adult in district twelve.

when riff is eighteen, he and tony go to the reaping ceremony like they always do. when tony’s name is called for the male tribute, riff wastes no time volunteering for him. this causes a stir in the capitol. no one from district twelve has ever volunteered before. haymitch isn’t much help in mentoring riff and his district partner, an eighteen year old girl named liza verne. riff and liza don’t have much of a plan except to try and stay alive for as long as they can. riff knows their odds of survival are slim, but if he can protect liza, he’s going to try.

everyone in the capitol wants to know why riff volunteered, and he tells them a short version of his history with tony. he’s not quite a favorite, but he gains enough sponsors to turn some heads.

he scores a nine in his training evaluation. he isn’t really skilled in anything, but he knows his way around a knife well enough to get by, and he’s a fairly skilled fighter with his fists. riff and liza scheme as best they can, but they both agree that their best course of action is just trying to survive for as long as they can.

games

the arena for the 69th hunger games is the side of a mountain. the cornucopia is on a platform roughly in the middle of the mountain. there are trees and caves and boulders to hide in or behind, and there’s a small lake at the very base of the mountain. it’s the only source of water in the arena. there are thunderstorms that occur randomly every other day, and fog that rolls in immediately prior to and following the thunderstorms.

liza is killed during the rush for the cornucopia by the male tribute from district two. the other deaths include both tributes from seven, the male tribute from four, the female tribute from eleven, and the male tribute from five. riff grabs whatever’s closest to him—an empty backpack and a knife—and runs. he spends the first night in hiding, trying to count how many tributes have died. he vows revenge for liza, and spends the night scheming and planning a way to kill as many tributes as he can before he’s killed himself.

by the time the fifth day dawns, riff, both tributes from three, and the male tribute from district two are the only survivors. riff and the male tribute from two have killed the other tributes. riff kills the female tribute from three on the sixth day. the male tribute from three is killed by the male tribute from two on the seventh day.

on the eighth day, riff and the male tribute from district two have a knife fight that spans the entire arena. riff eventually kills him, but not before sustaining a deep stab wound to his chest. the medics patch him up and he’s crowned the victor of the 69th hunger games a week later.

post games

when riff was getting patched up, the capitol did some experimenting on him. they were attempting to turn him into a muttation, but he woke up before they could complete the operation. instead of being a full muttation, riff has sharper canines, enhanced senses, and an enhanced bite force. his loyalty to his loved ones has been increased, and he is extremely volatile when angry. he will snap or growl at people if he needs to, both literally and figuratively.

riff doesn’t know the full extent of what the capitol did to him, but he suspects some of it. he returns to twelve to mentor, but he’s not very good at it. he tries for the first year, and then after his tribute is killed, he gives up. district twelve doesn’t produce victors. everyone knows that. riff and haymitch were flukes. and then niklaus rembrandt wins the 73rd hunger games, and riff starts paying attention again.

he hadn’t given nik any special treatment compared to the other tributes he’d mentored. he’d barely paid any attention to nik at all. he only really started noticing him after he won. nik’s victory was a literal bloodbath. it took them a long time to clean him up so he could be crowned the victor.

following nik’s victory, riff learns that there’s a plot to auction him off to the highest bidder. riff is very determined to not let that happen, and he proposes that he and nik get married to at least get the capitol off nik’s back. it works to some extent. nik, according to the capitol, is riff’s pet and has to act as such. riff knows the capitol won’t buy the story otherwise, but he still hates it.

they escape to thirteen as soon as they can, and it’s there that riff learns the extent of what the capitol did to him. when the rebellion happens, riff is helping as much as he can. he wants to see snow dead just as much as anyone else, and he’s very determined to make that happen.

riff

descendants. riff is the son of flynn rider and rapunzel. he was born on auradon and never wanted for anything. however, he grew bored with the routine and the stuffiness of auradon incredibly quickly. when he was twelve, he was sent to the isle for attempting to steal king adam's crown. he almost got away with it, too. but he didn't and so he was sent to the isle for it. he wasn't missed very much. none of the kids in auradon had liked him very much. riff doesn't care. he likes the isle a lot better than auradon. he tends to run around the isle with a group of kids that he leads. he's a very good thief and pickpocket, so make sure to watch your valuables around him.

miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children. riff is pyrokinetic. he inherited it from his father and he hates it. his loop is a day in august, 1957. it’s run by valentina bronzewing and the entrance to the loop is the entrance to the basement of valentina’s store. riff spends most of his time running around and causing chaos. he’s a pretty good friend to those he cares about, but he takes a while to warm up to those he doesn’t know. he prefers to fight with his fists, rather than use his peculiarity, but he will often flaunt his pyrokinesis just because he can.

1920s. riff runs a speakeasy and is constantly dodging the local authorities. he lives life on the edge because, really, is there any other way to live it?

art

ted lasso. during the fallout of everything, art donaldson disappears. he takes his daughter and packs everything essential into some suitcases, and he gets on the first flight to london. he tells no one where he’s going except for his parents, and hopes that he can start over when he gets to london. he knows he’s taking the coward’s way out and he knows he shouldn’t be running away from all of it, but he can’t help it. he’s sick and tired of being hounded whenever he goes. he’s sick and tired of people looking at him like they pity him or like they know what he went through. he’s sick and tired of being art donaldson. he doesn’t know how much of the news has reached london, but he’s hoping it’s not a lot.

moulin rouge. art started out life wanting to be a golf star. that plan quickly fizzled out when he realized he was an absolutely terrible golfer, and he decided to go to school instead. he had no money to pay for his schooling, however, and so he was forced to drop out. (his parents had died a year prior and left him with nothing, much to his surprise). out of money, options and a job, art decides to find work at the moulin rouge. it's not something he ever saw himself doing and he hates it. most of his clients are rough and rude and expect nothing in return for the services he provides for them. but art needs money. and he likes the people he works with. zidler isn't a bad boss either, all things considered. art is grateful for the moulin rouge. he knows his situation could be so much worse, but he dreams of a day he can leave the club behind for good.
