Ok so what if you turned your favorite fanfiction into a d&d campaign? Which fanfiction would you base if off of?

Ok so what if in your campaign you make it a little easier for the characters to get hurt but give them a set amount of extra lifes, like 2 to 3 lives. I think this could work with some campaigns, like for example: the characters are certain gods chosen ones and because of that they get extra lifes.
