i’m starting a movement to stop calling this shit “artificial intelligence” cause it’s fucking not. it’s not intelligent, and the things it produces are not informed by logical choices. it doesn’t know how to research sources for you. it doesn’t compose art thoughtfully or meaningfully.

call it machine-generated, text generator, chat bot, but it’s not intelligent.

For the sake of this poll, "reading" is considered being able to look at a piece of writing in your native language and understand its meaning without memorizing the writing itself (as in, having it read so often to you that you can recite it from memory). You do not have to be completely fluent in the language at this point, it's just when the jumbles of letters started making sense to you.

I was curious because I was told that I started learning to read super early and I just wanted to know if 7 years old was *actually* the average.
