The colors of magic...
Blue, Orange, and Green, respectively!
Blue: the color of magic casted by a ritualist. Most rituals (if performed by non-natural magic users) emit a blue light. As a ritualist, Maddie's magic is blue.
Orange: the color of autumn. As a natural magic user, Bryz's magic color corresponds to the extent of her magical abilities (as she is an autumn elf). And, quite conveniently, it matches her color scheme very nicely.
Green: the color of magic first harnessed by a woman nearly forgotten. Her impact trickles down an extensive and messy family tree. Witches among the Caveda family all have green magic. Cassandra simply inherited the family color.
Not all magic is a specific color for these same reasons! Magic appears in all colors! Some ritualists don't have blue magic, elves all portray different shades and colors within their faction, and The Cavedas aren't the only people ever to use green.
Hello and welcome to Nova's Totally Cool and Understandably Vague Ass Plot Outline for Arc 3 of The Adventures of Casey + Bryz. Arc 3 will mainly feature the main cast exploring what lies beyond the stairwell... and, henceforth, hyjinks ensue.
The colors are in a spectrum of severity. Green is good for the characters. Red is... not so. Basically, the seriousness and stakes of the scene.
Arc 3 has the greatest stakes of the whole series thus far, and I am SO excited for when I'll be able to share it. Seriously, it's gonna be a fun one. I plan on releasing the name some time soon. From what I've planned, this arc will be the most important yet, and the story will really start to establish its stakes and conflict. Rahhh... I am SO EXCITED!! I wish I could share it with you all now, but alas... I'm simply not that fast.
So enjoy the anticipation of what is to come! Get ready... things only get crazier from here!

Happy Pride Month from Me!

Featuring the Pansexual and Genderfluid flags (along with purple, my favorite color)!
This drawing isn't my best drawing or my favorite drawing, and it isn't perfect, but neither am I! Spread some love this pride month, and make sure to give some of that love to yourself, too! β€οΈπ§‘ππππ
Here is a very rough sketch for Windy With a Chance of Kidnapping. It's just a collection of all of the main characters posed up lol.

holy shit. raph face study time
Leo's Face
So, just like last time, I grabbed a reference image.

Then, I traced the original image to get a feel for the shapes. (TRACING IS A VALID TOOL!! Don't be afraid to utilize it!!)

Here is where we go south.
Ref 1 and 2 are back-to-back. Night and day... :,)
The main issue I was having was size and length. Raph's face is blocky and wide. I could not grasp the concept...

And so, I went back to the original traced image. I traced over that with black and the polyline tool to get straight and defined lines.

I used this version to identify the main shapes that make up Raph. His bottom jaw is kind of like a dented trapezoid. The way that I understood it was that halway down the trapezoid is where the little dent is. His upper half is a slanted hexagon with the bottom two sides taken off.
With this knowledge, I did a third drawing with reference.

Now we've got it down! His eyes are normally less cartoony, but my style tends to exaggerate eyes.
All that's left was to freehand and test my understanding!

Jesus... Raph was super difficult. No clue why I did him second :,)
Notes/understanding:
Raph's face is square and blocky, with a couple... divets? It feels really chiseled, and it's also straight. Like more up and down, if that makes sense.
His snout (? chin?) is Smaller Than You Think. It's pretty short, and it took me a while to figure that out.
There's some things you can get away with, like expressive eyes, but Raph is intended to be like a... boulder. He's supposed to look strong (because he is) and his face reflects that.
Mask tails? Don't know her.
Overall, Raph was a struggle :,) I'm super duper bad at drawing every part of him, no clue why. It's probably because my style tends to be more curvy and loose, less rigid.
Thoughts? Questions? Let me know! Hit me with 'em!
