Give your ocs more "weird and ugly" traits. It's great you should do it. Adds flavor and uniqueness and actually ugly traits are super sexy and cool. Like pattern balding, uneven teeth, moles, lots of body hair or patchy facial hair (or patchy hair generally), like funny little moustache hairs, rolls and stretch marks and other skin imperfections, weird and funny eyebrows, noses anything other than the straight button nose pLEASE-

Just some advice:

If you're trying to start a wip or go back to a wip after a long time, go over the plot and characters first to familiarise yourself

Then write little scenarios/scenes as practice with these characters e.g your characters discovering something in the woods or something like that
