for @starfurys challenge i took the prompt music band au and decided to make a human tyril playing guitar bc i got inspired by harry styles 👁👄👁

How do you draw the same character? Like how do you keep the face from changing constantly? Because I never can get a character the same way again

I’m flattered that you would ask me tbh, but I’m not entirely sure why because I’m inconsistent af lmao it’s something I’m trying to get better at though

So idk … a few things that have helped me (and continue to help me) on that quest:

use references; especially your own drawings of the character that you’ve done before

figure out what makes that particular face that particular face. Does this character have a crooked nose? A pointy chin? Puffy cheeks? Focus on the features that distinguish this face from other faces, and emphasise them

draw the face over and over again (obviously)

The way I see it, drawing faces is all about proportions. You can get away with a lot of things as long as the overall proportions are right; like the distance between the eyes or the length/size of the nose relative to the size and shape of the face etc etc. It can be helpful to really look at your character’s face and sort of map it out … for example

See how it doesn’t necessarily have to be completely accurate as long as the general shapes and proportions are there?
