The wedding - Part 1

Characters: Taiju Shiba, reader (mention of Hakkai Shiba and Takashi Mitsuya)

POV: you are guests at the wedding of Pah-chin (Haruki Hayashida) and Yumi Mori. I had to make Y/N as a friend of the bride, because Pah would never invite Taiju :D

You checked yourself in the mirror for the nth time. The ceremony in the church was finished and now you were on your way to the afterparty. You cried out of happiness for your old childhood friend Yumi, while she changed rings with her husband Haruki Hayashida, formerly known as Pah-chin. You didn't mind ruining your makeup with that action - you had no other choice than letting the tears flow - but now you had to fix it, wanting to make a good impression at the party.

“You´re looking good. No one will notice you cried earlier”, Taiju sighed in annoyance, repeating himself for the tenth time.

“You´re a man. You don't have an eye for something like that”, you responded, putting some concealer under your eyes to get rid of the ‘panda eyes’ caused by your mascara.

When you were satisfied with the result, you both made your way into the big hall where the party took place.

You weren't surprised that you met so many familiar faces. All of Tomans former captains and vice captains were invited, even Yuzuha and Hina were there. You´ve got an invitation from the bride, a friend of yours since middle school and because you said that you are coming with your partner, Taiju accompanied you. He was fine with that, knowing that you wouldn't be the only person at the wedding he knows, but also knowing many of the other guests from the past. He couldn´t let you attend the wedding on your own of course. What if someone tries to flirt with you? No one would dare to do that as long as he's with you. That's for sure.

You took your assigned seats at the table with his other siblings and Mitsuya, the other former Toman members at the tables around you.

After Pah and Yumi finally cut the wedding cake, it was time to go to the buffett.

Your eyes begin to sparkle when you see the different desserts, presented on a long table.

“Oh, that looks delicious”, pointing at the small glasses filled with panna cotta and raspberry jelly, “I want that one for our wedding too, okay?”

“Sure”, Taiju agreed, but when he heard his little brother and also Mitsuya choke on their own saliva behind him, he recognized the warmth growing on his cheeks. He looked back, trying to intimidate them with a stern glance, but they were looking somewhere else, pretending they never heard anything.

When everyone finished their meals, it was time for music and dancing. The atmosphere now was much more relaxed after the bridal couple was getting over with the first dance of the evening.

Taiju was leading you to the middle of the dancefloor, but as soon as he rested his hand on your hip, Hakkai stole you out of his embrace.

“Sorry, big brother. I want the first dance with my sister-in-law”, Hakkai apologised with a big smile.

Said man was standing there with gritted teeth, aware that this wasn´t the right place nor time to start a fight. Seeing you mouth a ‘Sorry’, he walked back to his table. You would come back to him when the song is over, right?

He clenched his fists, when he saw that Mitsuya was holding out his hand for you for the next dance - and you agreed??? He was absolutely speechless. How dare you. Choosing a dance with the former leader of the second division of toman over a dance with the former tenth generation leader of the Black Dragons, in addition to that your boyfriend?

He observed you and your dance partner, admiring you in your beautiful dress that matched your hair- and eye color perfectly, admiring your dance moves.

“Oh, look at Mitsuya-kun”, he overheard from another table. “Don't they look perfect together?” The woman who said that was a complete stranger to him, maybe friends of the bride.

‘They look perfect together? Bullshit?’

He was losing his patience, so he returned to the dancefloor, standing next to Mitsuya and you with his full height, which would intimidate everyone else.

“It's my turn now”, he said with a look that doesn't allow any contradiction.

“Um, sure”, Mitsuya agreed, rubbing his neck sheepishly.

“I was waiting for you, baby”, putting your arms around his neck and giving him a quick peck.

“Well, now I'm here and if anyone steals you away from me again, I´m breaking their neck”, pulling you closer.

Is someone jealous, you thought, but didn´t dare to ask him that question. You already knew the answer. Your answer was confirmed when he gave you a long kiss.

You were both no big fans of showing something like that in public, especially not in front of a whole wedding party. Hand holding? Okay. A quick peck on the cheek or on the lips? Okay. But not a kiss like that, surrounded by so many people.

A victorious smile on his face, when he ended the kiss. Now everyone knows who you belong to. You´re looking good next to Mitsuya? Well, you look even better next to him. Your eyes were glistening even more and everybody would approve that.

Later in the evening it was time for the bride to throw her bridal bouquet, all unmarried women gather together behind the bride and the one who catches it, is the one who gets married next.

Kazutora either goes all out of Valentine’s Day or it’s very chill. after being in prison for so long and thinking how he is a terrible person, he never expected to find someone to love him, so when given the chance to show how much you mean to him, he goes all out. Tries to imitate things from romance movies (and the romance manga chifuyu lent him) and leaves rose petals leading down the hallway, picked a cute outfit for you and takes you out to eat. He might not have much money, but he tries so hard to treat you like a queen.

or, all of it is very overwhelming to him, I mean he has been in jail for a while and readjusting takes some time. he loves you and is so amazed he found a partner who loves him, but sometimes he prefers to stay in and spoil you within. tries his best to make a homemade meal with a nice dessert he bought from a cute cafe down the street. that one movie you’ve been dying to watch, he has it set up on the tv and all the comfiest blankets from your apartment ready for you.

either way, he’s trying his best.

~Your P.O.V.~

"What are you doing?",a familiar voice asked causing me to jump.

"Shin, shh!",I said as I held a finger over my mouth.

Mikey laughed as he munched on his dorayaki.

"You makin' soup, sweetheart?",Shinichiro asked as he came over to where I was at the stove.

"Mhm. Want some?"

"Sure, your's is always good."

"I want some too,",Mikey said.

"Alright, there's more than enough for all three of us. Should we wake up Emma and see if she wants some too? We should let your grandfather rest."

"She should sleep, she has school tomorrow. So do you, Manjiro,",Shinichiro said as he looked at the young blonde.

"My (Y/n) radar went off and I woke up."

""(Y/n) radar"? Cute,",I said with a light laugh.

"(Y/n)!",Shinichiro whined.

"Hah! See, (Y/n) does like me better,",Mikey said as he stuck his tongue out at his older brother.

"You little-!"

"Shin, baby, can you help me? I don't wanna burn myself since I'm tired, and the pot is heavier than usual,",I said.

"Sure!",he said happily. "Take that, twerp. MY LOVER wants MY help, not YOURS,",Shinichiro said to Mikey before going over to me. "What do you need me to do?"

"Strain half a cup of water into the measuring cup, and then drain the rest of the water,",I said as I went over to Mikey who had a slight pout. I patted his head as I could hear Shinichiro pouring the water. "Don't worry, Mikey. Next time you can pour the water for me, you're strong."

His face immediately lit up. "We can make ramen after I get home from school and I can help. I like eating your ramen a lot."

"Aww thank you, Mikey. That's really sweet of you to say,",I said as I gave him a light hug.

"Where's my hug?",Shinichiro asked.

I giggled and went over to him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for helping me, baby. Now then, time to finish cooking,",I said to myself as I poured the noodles into the pot, and the half cup of water. I put the stove on low and soon heard the two brothers starting to bicker again.

"Listen, they're not going to kiss your cheek. It took me forever to get a kiss on the cheek from them and we're dating."

"Maybe they just doesn't like you as much as you think they do,",Mikey said.

I shook my head, mixing in the liquid and then powder packets that came with the ramen into the pot. I tried to hold in my laugh as the conversation continued.

"As if,",Shinichiro said with a scoff. "We're going to be married to each other, and have children. Maybe they'll be more well-behaved than you."

"Oh please, if you're the father than they won't be. Besides, (Y/n) and I are getting married. When I get older they'll realize I'm the better Sano,",Mikey said as I cracked and added in two eggs.

"You're short, you think they'll even see you that way with your height?"

"Now, now, I don't care about the height of my lover,",I spoke up.

"Mhm,",Shinichiro said as he hugged me from behind.

"I'll win (Y/n)'s heart!",Mikey said confidently.

I shook my head with a laugh. "Can you both get bowls, chopsticks, and drinks please?",I asked.

They immediately nodded and got what I asked them to. I added some Kewpie Mayo and mixed it in. Mikey placed the bowls next to me on the counter and I divided the soup evenly into the three bowls. "Mikey, can you help me carry the bowls?"

"Yeah,",he said and grabbed two bowls. He placed the two down and I placed the other down.

Shinichiro finished placing everything on the table and we all sat down.

"Thank you for the food,",we all said and began eating.

"So good and creamy!",I said happily.

"I know what else is creamy-ow!",Shinichiro yelped as I kicked his shin.

"I dare you to continue,",I said as I gave him a menacing smile.

"I'm good,",he winced.

~later after the meal~

I washed the dishes with Shinichiro and Mikey as we all talked. "So Mikey, I heard you started a gang. Tokyo Manji Gang, right?"

"Yeah. We're going to be the best gang in all of Japan, and start a new age for delinquents,",he said confidently.

"Confident, I like that. Please promise me that you'll be careful though, I don't know what I'll do if I found out you ended up in the hospital."

"Don't worry, (Y/n)! I'm strong, unlike my idiot brother."

"Oh, shut up,",Shinichiro groaned. "You really love the sound of your own voice, don't you?"

"It's a lot better than yours."

I laughed at the two's bickering. "I love you both so much."

"I love you too,",Shinichiro said.

Mikey stayed quiet and we both looked at him. His face was red and his fists were clenched at his sides.

"Are you ok, Mikey?",I asked as I dried my hands, looking more at his face.

"L-Love you too, (Y/n),",he said quietly.

I smiled and brought him into a tight hug. "Man you're freaking cute!"

~Shinichiro's P.O.V.~

I smiled fondly as I watched (Y/n) hug Mikey. Soon the moment was ruined as Mikey stuck his tongue out at me while pulling on his cheek.

"You annoying ass kid! Go to sleep already!",I shouted.

"Shin!",(Y/n) scolded as they let go of Mikey and looked at me. "Be nicer to Mikey, baby."

"But (Y/n)-"

They shook their head. "Nope, don't wanna hear it."

I let out a sigh. "Fine."

They smiled. "You're right though, Mikey you should be going to sleep. You'll be tired at school tomorrow if you don't sleep soon."

"Alright. Goodnight, (Y/n)."

"Goodnight, Mikey."

"Night, Manjiro,",I said.

"Night,",he said and left (Y/n) and I alone in the kitchen.

We finished washing the dishes and went to my room, laying on my bed.

"I love you, (Y/n),",I said as our limbs intertwined with each other's.

"I love you too, Shinichiro. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

🦊Yae Miko🦊:

When Yae found you just sitting under the Sakura Tree gazing up at the falling petals with tears in your eyes, she thought that you were simply lost and was going to get you back to your parents

But when you told her that your parents wouldn't want you back since they left you, she decided to take you in because a little child like yourself wouldn't be able to take care of yourself properly

Even Yae doesn't understand why she decided to do that

She thinks it is out of pity for you

But regardless of that, she does treat you very well

She teaches you all you need to know about the ceremonies done at shrine, what she does at her publishing house and how to read and write

And just how to enjoy life in general

If you're on the shy side, Yae has a field day messing with you because she finds your reactions adorable

She also tries to get you out of your comfort zone and explore new things

"Come now, little one. Just hold my hand. There's absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Even if there was, I'll protect you." She says as she holds your hand while you two are exploring dark and abandoned ruins.

If you're more energetic then she finds looking after you more interesting but don't ever bother her when she's busy unless you want a serious scolding

"Little one, I understand that you want to go and play but as of right now I'm incredibly busy so please be patient until I'm done." Yae sits you on a cushion and gives you a book to entertain yourself with

When Ei goes to visit Miko after she finds out that she's looking after a child, she's a little worried about you since she knows the type of personality Miko has

So she was surprised to find that Miko hadn't tried to make you a miniature version of herself

Once you got used to Ei, you two would spend time together

Miko lowkey gets jealous of the attention you give Ei

She's so used to you clinging to her but she's also glad you aren't afraid of Ei (especially if you take longer to adjust to new people)

Ei on the other hand didn't know how to react

She was just getting used to interacting with adult humans but children are different since they have not reached that level of maturity

She was also scared of hurting you on accident

But Miko assures her that she's doing fine

Once Ei is more comfortable with you though, she will always get you sweets and other gifts everytime she sees you

So now Ei has become your aunt <3

❄Eula Lawrence❄:

Ever since your guardian/parents were arrested for child abuse, you needed a place to stay

Eula agreed to take you in since you got to know her long before the arrest

And Eula truly is the best caregiver whether people believe it or not

She makes amazing food and she is super caring

She gets protective of you but still allows you your freedom

Eula gives you time to adjust to a lot of new things since she also grew up in a pretty toxic environment so she understands how you feel

She also tries to not do anything that may trigger you

She will sometimes bring you with her to the KoF HQ whenever she's busy so you won't have to be alone

Once you became friends with Klee, all hell ensues

If you and Klee are on the same level of destructive, Jean has a major headache having to deal with you two and Eula will reprimand you every time you two cause problems

But if you just go along with the things Klee does then they're more lenient on you

Klee even gave you your own Dodoco to show that you two are friends

Lisa thinks you're adorable and calls you her "Mini helper"

You know that huge lie Kaeya told the Traveller about that super powerful sword and him being a pirate?

He tells you stories like that all the time but there's an underlying feeling of doubt

Albedo and Sucrose treat you and Klee the same but are a lot more softer if you're shy

Amber is like a fun aunt

Always bringing you along whenever she has to complete her Outrider duties

She wants to teach you how to glide when you're older

But no matter how much you get along with them, Eula is always the one you cling to

She literally gets so happy on the inside if you hug her or hold her hand

Since you're a child,she doesn't often say that she'll exact her vengeance on you but it slips out sometimes

She's just trying and you can tell with how much she tries to keep you safe and happy <3

❄Ganyu🏹:

She used to work with your parents/guardian at Yuehai Pavilion so she got to know you whenever they would bring you with them

Unfortunately, things wouldn't stay so happy for long

Your parent/guardian were attacked by some mitachurls since they were walking around an area they did not know at the time was near a camp of hilichurls and mitachurls

You did not take this news well

Since you were closest to Ganyu, she then decided to take you in and look after you

She tries to comfort you over the loss of your guardian/parents especially since she knows what it feels like to lose people you care about

She also tries to be less busy than she used to because she has to look after you

Will occasionally bring you with her to work if she has a lot of things to do

If you're shy and more introverted, then she understands if you prefer to spend time with her instead of other people since it can be daunting speaking to people you aren't close with

If you are more outgoing, then she takes a little time to adjust to your energetic side but lets you pull her along to wherever you wanna go

Ganyu always has this happy look on her face whenever she sees that you made new friends with the other kids in Liyue

Also if you start to warm up to the other people she works with

Will only ever let you meet the other adepti once you're older since they can be a bit intimidating

But she's considering leaving out Cloud Retainer because they always tell embarrassing stories about her whenever she introduces them to new people

Literally lets you sleep with her whenever you want

Whether it be because of a nightmare or just because you want to

She sometimes lets you touch her horns if you ask

They're pretty sensitive so don't touch them without warning her first or else she will let out a little squeak

Ganyu tries to be there for you no matter what

She doesn't mind dropping what she's doing to make sure you're okay and that's a huge step for her since her work is very important to her

She's just all soft for you <3

“You know it’s okay for you to stay over even if it isn’t pouring down outside, right?” You questioned, placing your forehead against his. He draped his arms around you, resting his hands on your hips.

“I just wouldn’t want to-”

“I like having you around. It’s not a problem.”

Drops of rain hammered against the cobblestone roads of Mondstadt city, drowning out all noise but that of the wind whipping to and fro. Most people would have started properly settling in for the night, with the exception of those who were just making their way home from the recently closed taverns. Even they would return to their homes in due time, and in spite of the loud winds and weather, the city of wind would fall silent. And yet, one lone house in Mondstadt City kept the flickering lights on and the front door open. Sitting in the door frame wrapped up in a blanket and with a hot cup in their hands were you, listening to the rhythmic beat of the raindrops on the roof of the portico.

You knew your boyfriend was the type of guy who would fall asleep under open skies, sheltered only by the occasional tree or bush, and at times you had enjoyed joining him on warm summer nights while whispering songs to each other under the starry sky. You also knew that even he had his limits with what was considered acceptable weather conditions, but would still hesitate a bit to ask you for a favor. Maybe he felt as if he wasn’t giving enough back to you to warrant it, or maybe he feared that he’d be a burden to you, but you would be quick to shut down such thoughts the moment you suspected him overthinking it again. You had whispered your invitation to a handful of dandelion seeds and let them go with the wind before the weather got too bad, and now you were simply waiting for him to return from wherever he had been spending the evening.

You were abruptly taken out of your thoughts when the sound of rushed footsteps broke through the symphony of rainfall, and a familiar figure emerged from the blur of gray. You rose to your feet, leaning onto the door frame as you set down your cup on a small table right by the door.

“There you are. I was about to go out looking for you.” You teased, while offering him a warm smile the moment you suspected he was close enough to hear you clearly.

“Ehe..!” Venti shrugged and returned your smile. He clearly hadn’t expected the weather to get so bad either…

Not too long ago Venti’s gnosis was taken away. While his approach to “governing” Mondstadt meant that the loss didn’t change much around the city, the rainstorms had been a little more intense as of late. There wasn’t much you could do about it other than drag the bard out of the streets and into a warm home when it got too bad, and wait out the rain together.

You waved him in as you went to grab a towel or two. On your way back you stopped by your wardrobe to get Venti something to change into. You kept a few pieces of clothing in his size around in case of situations like this, after all.

“I hope you weren’t out there for too long, dear… Wouldn’t want you catching a cold now.” Venti pondered, wringing out his cape on your porch so as to not drag too much water into your house. You undid the bow on the cape and gently lifted it off his shoulders, placing it to the side for a moment.

“I’ll be alright. Have you had anything to eat yet? I have some soup I could heat up for you.” You picked off his hat and flower and threw a towel over his head and started patting his hair dry.

“That would be nice. Thank you.” He lifted the towel a bit and put his lips to your forehead, kissing you gently. You chuckled softly, stroking his cheek with your free hand. You picked up the clothes you fetched earlier and gave them to him, sending him off to the bathroom to change while you get the food ready.

You lit the candles dimly illuminating the kitchen and went to get a fire going under the stove. The remaining embers from when you had heated up your own drink earlier made it easy to rekindle the fire, so you swiftly placed the pot of soup on the stove and waited for it to warm up.

Listening to the quiet bubbling of the soup and the rain hammering away at the windows, you hummed a song to yourself as you swayed slowly from side to side. It was a melody Venti had sung to you one evening, long before you had finally admitted your feelings for one another. Oddly enough it always stuck with you, so when you later learned he wrote it specifically for you, you couldn’t help but hum it all hours of the day. For a moment you stood there, stirring the pot and letting your thoughts wander, when your boyfriend joined your song and leant his head on your shoulder. He quietly whispered to you the words to the song, as you hummed the tune. His hands drew you in closer into a hug, and you could feel him relax against you. Venti had a tendency to keep his guard up around people. After all, good intuition is all you need to tell someone is keeping secrets, and he really didn’t have an answer for most questions. He’s a mystery through and through for most people, but you knew him in a way he didn’t let most people. You knew him in a way neither the people of Mondstadt nor the archons of Celestia knew him; truly, fully, wholeheartedly. He was at peace when by your side and in your company alone. In a way it scared him how well you know him, but then again, he knows you just as well. And he adored you, so, so dearly. And it’s in those moments you share when he hugs you from behind and you sing each other songs that it dawns on him just how much he loves you.

You transferred the hot soup from the pot into the bowl and grabbed a spoon, and placed it on the dining table. Fetching yourself a small serving too, you called Venti over to eat.

You two chattered away about your days, current events, future excursions, you name it. And when you had both had your fill and returned the dishes to the kitchen, you started finally getting ready for bed.

You could feel the sleepiness wearing on you a bit, it had gotten rather late after all. Grabbing Venti’s hand, you pulled him into bed and wrapped your blankets around him to warm him up properly. After the meal he wasn’t too cold from the rain anymore, but you wanted to make sure he was comfortable.

“You know it’s okay for you to stay over even if it isn’t pouring down outside, right?” You questioned, placing your forehead against his. He draped his arms around you, resting his hands on your hips.

“I just wouldn’t want to-”

“I like having you around. It’s not a problem.”

Venti smiled cautiously, chuckling a bit at your quick reaction. He lifted a hand to cup your cheek, stroking it with his thumb. You carefully placed your own hand over his, lifting it slightly and placing a kiss on the palm of his hand.

“Seriously though. You don’t need a reason to come over. You’re welcome home anytime.” You assured him, inching a bit closer to rest your head against him.

It was quite the rare sight to see Venti rendered speechless, but that simple declaration was more than enough to snatch the words away from him. So he simply hugged you closer, and held on tightly until sunrise.
