i haven't uploaded it yet. i wanted to finish it yesterday, but the Mental Illness got to me extra hard, so i didn't do any writing. it also doesn't help that the fic is about mental illness LOL RIP

"Appa, oh my god, you're freaking him out!" 

Jungkook turns to see a person in the doorway. He's only vaguely aware of the bed he's sitting on and the details of the room he's in, entirely focused on the strange man's lidded, haunting eyes. After blinking a few times, Jungkook's vision clears enough to see that the person is a young teen. He's gangly, wearing clothes two sizes too big, with straight, black hair that falls into his eyes like a curtain, masking his expression.  

"Insoo, please leave us," the man sighs, but the boy in the doorway doesn't budge. 

"You're literally making him have a panic attack. He's hyperventilating."

The conversation continues, but Jungkook doesn't hear what they discuss. All he can hear is the slow thud of something vibrating in his eardrums that makes his body tingle and the hurt in his chest intensify. It's the boy. Somehow, Jungkook sees the subtle rise and fall of his pulse against the skin of his neck from across the room. He can hear the rush of his blood surge when he begins arguing with his father. 

A sharp pain blooms in Jungkook's bottom lip. When he pulls his hand back after touching the spot, his fingers are stained with dark red blood. 

"What..." He can't speak. His tongue feels strange in his mouth, dry and fumbling. When he tries again, he nicks his tongue on the fangs that have extended from his gums, and more dark blood leaks into his mouth. 

"Get out." 

The man's voice deepens and twists into something so raspy it doesn't sound human. Instinctually, Jungkook knows the command is for the boy in the doorway but feels he must leave, too. Jungkook doesn't know why he feels this way, but the man grabs his shoulder and shoves him back onto the bed before Jungkook can get up.

"Not you," the man hisses, the beauty of his haunting face darkening with something that shoots fear into Jungkook's heart.

Jungkook's heart isn't beating. He can't feel it, not inside of him, and not when he shoves his arm under his bloodstained t-shirt and presses his hand to his bare chest. 

He's dead, but he's not. 

The man told him that he has to calm down and breathe, but Jungkook feels like the panic inside him is going to suffocate him. He tries taking a deep breath and realizes he can tell that his lungs aren't expanding.

"What the fuck? What the fuck?"

Kicking at the sheets tucked around his legs, Jungkook scoots up the bed until his back collides with the headboard. His eyes prickle with the threat of hot tears at the corners.

"Jungkook—"

"No!"
