BTS Love Yourself Era Concepts - Learning to Love by Loving... (6/6)

VERSION E

Has bright pastels,tulles, lace, ruffles , and a general delicate feeling, with the BTS members encapsulated in vivariums filled with fantastical nature elements. 

If you look under Yoongi, in the group photo, you can see a doll key, which together with the  ribbons holding his, Hobi's, Jimin's, and Jungkook's wrists, further indicates that they are watched, trapped and controlled, by creating a visual analogy with that of marionettes whose movements are controlled by a puppet master (by the state? the media? by fans? who knows?).

In these concept images, BTS clearly blur the distinction between masculine and feminine, while at the same time, these concept images also critique the stress of uniformity in the k-pop industry ( the members are trapped in those vivariums like some beautiful rare objects to be forever admired and untouched).

You can see some connections between the boys and their vivariums : there's a dead tree in Jimin's and Jungkook's bubbles, Namjoon and Taehyung have pink roses (Namjoon's are cut, and Taehyung has a bush), Jin's yucca and Yoongi's flower can be seen in Jimin's vivarium, flowers are floating in Hobi's and Namjoon's bubbles and, finally, 4 of them have wild oat in their vivarium (Jin, Hobi, Yoongi and Jungkook).

[Personally...I think this is one of their most beautiful concepts that they showed in this era.]

Even though the theme of an outer self and an inner self repeats itself in this version with the black-and-white images, collaged with the contrasting bright photographs, by comparison, these last 2 versions are much brighter.

Here, the BTS members are wearing a mix of retro streetwear and formal blazers and suits, and are photographed against the monkey bars in a quirky playground. Adding to the colour scheme is the boys’ brightly dyed hair, with hues of orange, pink and peach throughout.

...and we are done!!! 🥳🥳🥳 The LOVE YOURSELF albums are one of my favourite albums of them, so I hope I did them justice with my ramblings. Fun personal trivia: "Serendipity" is my most listened song according to my end of the year recap for 2 years now, so these albums mean a lot to me.

As for the member who embodied this era the best...I pick Namjoon. He pleasantly surprised me this era with every concept.

Hope you had fun going down this fashion memory lane with me and we will "meet" again for the next era 💗 .
