The Other Side - 10 New Skintones for Dark and Light Complexions

Today I bring you an experiment that came about from the selection of skin colours available in TS4. There is a serious lack of dark skin colours, and the light ones have left a lot to be desired. After a bit of research, diving into the clientfullbuild files, lots of backwards and forwards into the game for testing, hex editing to edit the colour swatches because s4pe threw errors, I finally came up with the lightside and darkside skintones. I could not be more happy with my first, and possibly last foray into the world of TS4 skins. I came away knowing more about the game and some awesome new colours that don’t look jaundice or ashy.

I saw this perfect little necklace by @alexaarr​ (thank you for your TOU!) and I knew I had to redo the ugly, oversized base game necklaces with that mesh! I also converted it for the male frame - it gets kinda floaty with bigger muscles but otherwise it should work fine.

I like to give my townies some skills and traits to add to their personality even if I don’t play them, so that’s where this generator comes in! I’d like to add to it in the future with things like activities and favorites, but you guys were interested in it as is so here’s the link (it looks a lot better on mobile)!

I’m still trying to figure out how to fix the traits so that you don’t end up with any that conflict one another, but in the mean time here is a more in depth generator for traits, and here’s some other random sim generators!

If you’re familiar with perchance, you’re more than welcome to edit this as much or as little as you want for personal use! If you’re not, I’ll start working on some little tutorials so you can customize it for you and your game. Let me know if you have any ideas, if anything needs to be fixed, or just feel free to show me what sims you come up with! thank u! :-)

I made a bunch of new holiday traditions thanks to @littlemssam‘s Tutorial!

Most of them are pretty self explanatory. 

“Snow Fun” can be fulfilled with any interaction with the snow such as: making, destroying, appreciating and talking to snowpals, playing in the snow, making a snow angel, having a snowball fight, and shoving snow.

The following trads require Island Living: Collecting Seashells / Fire Dance / Drinking Kava / Sand Sculpture. “Fire dance” is a specific interaction only available with the Island Living bonfire.

So I mostly created this little image guide for myself (so I could remember how I’m doing my holidays from save to save) but i liked it so much i thought I’d share. This is just a comprehensive guide to what my main holidays are and how I put them throughout my sims’ year. 

To explain: I have included what days I use the holidays on. If there is no date stated then I plug them in randomly wherever they fit depending on the weather. For example, all of my summer holidays are undated so that I can put them where the weather is suitable. A heatwave is the best day for Summer Cookout or even all of them put in a row to create a Summer Vacation.

Well I hope you enjoy or get inspiration from this if your looking to create a varied holiday experience for your sims :)

This is solely meant to be seen as a resource for all players who struggle to come up with ideas for their game.
