// hi again! / short re-introduction / productivity challenge soon? //

😻 Studyblr seems to be alive again! Is it because summer break just ended in the US (or maybe the western hemisphere?) and everyone’s back to school? Where I live, elementary to high school students only have two main breaks: December-January and June-July, each lasting 2-3 weeks. But it’s the start of a new semester at my uni too, so I’m back on studyblr! :)
🎓 I’ve got some good news. I got my first straight As last semester, woohoo! Maybe I got a little lucky since I only started studying a month before finals. But to be fair, in my program, final exams count for the majority of your grade, so it’s a bit easier compared to regular uni programs where assignments weigh more heavily.
👋🏻 Oh, and I noticed I’ve gained a few new friends while I was away. Should I reintroduce myself?
Hi, everyone! I’m Nisa, but you can call me Potato if you like, haha. I’m a part-time Communications student and freelance writer, but I’m aiming for a full-time job before the year ends. I’m also planning to start a personal productivity challenge soon to help me reach that goal. I'm also learning Japanese right now :))
Nice to meet you all!

Hey y'all, I'm back!
This time I'm preparing for my postgrad exams, and I just started a few days ago. It's going slow, but I'm picking up the pace. This exam is a multiple choice question type, so besides reading and making notes and summarizing, I'm also solving questions everyday. The syllabus is massive though, so there's some starting problems 😅 But I find that coffee and waking up early helps.
I'm someone who listens to music a lot, and music generally helps me focus on studying too, so I usually play lofi, or more recently, this particular song on repeat - I hope it boosts your productivity too!
Have a great day y'all! Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers. Much love to you all 💕
Kak nisa how are you?? What's the plan for the year-end months?
Hi Nell! Thanks for asking! If you didn't drop something in my inbox, I might've forgotten that I should post some updates on my year-end productivity challenge :v So, thanks so much for ringing my bell! :D
I'm doing pretty well, thank you! Nothing too serious, but my period threw me for a loop this week :( I had some pretty rough mood swings, I think because of it. I was a total mess. I cried almost every night.
I haven't mentioned this, but one of my cats died about three weeks ago, and I couldn't stop thinking about him. One night, I had a bit of a cry remembering him. It was really tough keeping my voice down. Obviously, I didn't want to wake my dad up. I also cried while questioning my life lol >,< Now that my period is over, I can laugh at how funny it was when I cried.
As for my plan for the year-end months, I just want to end this year with fewer regrets 😅 I want to fix some bad habits and build good habits. I also want to focus on improving my job-related skills so I can gain confidence in my career 🤗
How about you?

Catching Up // September 2024
I've been absent for quite some time now, being busy traveling with friends and family and recovering from my finals. During these months, quite a few academic goals of mine have changed - something I did not expect to happen.
⭑ I realized that I want to keep my career path a bit more open ~ so I decided to apply for psychology and medicine at University. This also means preparing and taking two admissions tests in May of next year.
⭑ I've switched from volunteering at a psychiatric ward to volunteering at the hospital in the area of pediatric oncology (cancer in children) for 11 months
⭑ I will not write the Cambridge C2 Proficiency Exam this November ~ but will try to prepare for it anyways at a slow, steady pace in order for me to take it in a few years time (when I might actually need it to apply for a year abroad)
Keeping my path open also means being highly ambitious with my life, approaching competitive areas with a certain audacity and grit. It means deciding what kind of life I want to live, it's choosing my struggles and prioritizing my own path before fleeting pleasures and relationships. It is setting myself up for success and ensuring that I reach the potential that I know I have.

the way I wrote end-year instead of year-end just proved that I'm not a native speaker! and i'm not embarrassed! it's literally not my first language, so it's totally fine to make some errors :))
