Hello! I'm an artist and I've watched your work for a while, it's been amazing seeing your posts over the years. I've noticed that my art feels stiff and the colors look bland. Your characters look and feel active even while sitting, and your flat colors look attractive. I've also noticed the variety of body types and amount of expressions you do! Expression, movement, and color seem to be my greatest vices right now. Do you have any advice or tutorials you'd recommend?

The only advice I can currently think to give, specifically on movement and expression, is exaggerate. That smile you draw probably isn't pushed enough; are their face wrinkling to accommodate the smile? Are their eyes squinting, are their noses wrinkling, do they have dimples? Just how hard are they smiling?

Try to train your eye into recognizing how the face morphs to make the expression you want to make, because an expression is never just isolated to just the mouth and brows. The entire face works with and around it. How does that frown pull at the rest of the face? What are their eyes doing, what are their brows doing, where is the skin stretching, squashing?

Same deal with the poses; if it looks stiff and lifeless, try pushing it more. It's a drawing, they can move more than the human body can, so don't be afraid to really try and sell that movement by making it even a tiny bit more ridiculous had a human actually tried the movement.

A lot of this comes with observing and practicing, but a good all-around source of advice (not a tutorial, but good helpful tips) is here:
