I thought about my OC Salem, the Shadow Siren OC. Here I’ll show you a picture of my darling:
Not sure if I ever explained her publicly before or not, but the lore I have for her is really interesting.
Salem the Shadow Siren: Conception
I had always believed there was more than just The Three Shadows in terms of the Shadow Siren species–and that they were created by the Shadow Queen herself, which would help explain Beldam’s loyalty. I mean hell SQ created the Crystal Stars, who couldn’t say she could create her own minions? Anyways, in my lore, the Three Shadows were not the first creations. That would be where Salem comes in. Salem’s creation was very early in the Demon’s days of rule, so she got to witness all of the horror and destruction her creator brought to the Ancient Rogueport and surrounding areas. Each Shadow Siren comes with an elemental power, but Salem’s is similar to SQ where she can conjure up spells of the dark and engulf entire areas in complete darkness. She was expected to be the Shadow Queen’s most loyal servant, a mini version of her if you will. Unlike her creator and mother, the Shadow Queen, Salem detests violence and doesn’t have a malicious bone in her body. She sees the beauty of the world, and rather than corrupting it she wants to keep it safe. But we already know the Four Heroes stopped the Shadow Queen, this is not a heroic tale for Salem. SQ soon found out how strange and docile Salem was, and let her creation/eldest daughter flee the Palace of Shadow. If she really wanted to, she could have killed her but she thought that one day Salem and the other Sirens who escaped being sealed away would one day return for her revival.
Honestly her appearance being similar to the Shadow Queen, especially how she looks in the remake, wasn’t intentional but it helped me connect Salem to her. The eldest Siren feels a lot of shame for not fighting back against the person who created her to do such horrible things. The only thing she did was hide and run. And continued to do so for almost 1000 years. Salem wouldn’t dare face any other siblings, and rarely talked to people in general. She found her solace in protecting the environments around her, but as the date for the door to reopen draws near…she felt this pit in her stomach grow bigger and bigger. Will someone put her mother back to sleep? Is there a way to kill her for good? Will the Shadow Queen hunt her down? So many questions led to the Shadow Siren to make appearances. If she were to appear in TTYD for real, Salem and her entire sidequest would be entirely optional, but would prove to have a big reward at the end. …But I’ll explain that another time! This post is HUGE. When will I post part 2? Who knows~ But know this, I’ll see you back here tomorrow at noon!

The deadliest strike came Wednesday afternoon, targeting the U.N.’s Al-Jaouni Preparatory Boys School in central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp. (...) Yesterday's strike happened very close to where the Shehab family has been sheltering, they couldn't sleep because of the heavy shelling & gunfire last night, and today, several homes in Nuseirat were bombed. Again.

I've been messaging back and forth with @mohammedalanqer after he shared his fundraiser with me, and very quickly into our conversation I offered to draw a comic about him to help boost his gofundme. he was incredibly excited about the idea and shared so many lovely pictures of his family for reference. the text is based off his story of him and his family living under constant bombardment, which you can read here.

My name is Thaer Qanoo, and I’m a 26-year-old husband and father. My wife, Marah Abed, is just 21 years old and was studying pharmacy at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. We have a beautiful one-year-old daughter named Nai, who has spent most of her life fleeing from bombs and destruction.
I am a computer engineer passionate about web development, and I’ve had the privilege of working with several companies outside of Gaza. But because of the war, I lost my job. The internet and electricity have become luxuries we can no longer rely on, and companies outside Gaza no longer trust that we can work under these circumstances.
My wife Marah was close to fulfilling her dream of becoming a pharmacist, but the war also took that away. With the little money we had left, we could barely afford food, let alone continue her education.
We were forced to flee from our home in Northern Gaza to the south, leaving behind everything we had ever known. Our home, my family’s home, everything was destroyed. We are now living in a tent, exposed to the scorching heat of summer and the relentless rain of winter. Nai, my daughter, is suffering the most. She’s only one year old and has already lived through more horrors than most of us can imagine. We can’t even provide her with basic necessities like milk, food, or diapers. Her health is deteriorating because of the lack of proper care and nutrition.
We are desperately trying to escape to safety, to a place where our daughter can grow up without the constant fear of death. Our only hope is to cross the Rafah border into Egypt, but the costs of coordination and securing our passage are incredibly high.
We are reaching out to you, to anyone who can hear our plea, to help us escape this nightmare. Your donation can make the difference between life and death for my family. Please, help us find safety and give my daughter the chance to live a life free from the horrors of war.

It was always my duty to check on my aunt and provide her with everything from food, drink, medicine, and everything else. Before I went to university every day, I always liked to go there to have breakfast together, chat and get her approval before I went to my studies. The memories of the occupation bombing my aunt’s house also disappeared.

this is my friend Ali Al-Tababi, and my name is Ghazi Sheto, but he was closer to me than many people in my family. I met Ali at university, and we had a goal: to graduate and work together. We will stay up all night to make this dream come true. He was always at my house, playing, studying, sleeping together and going to university together. We were conjoined twins. Quote. He asked for 30 thousand as compensation, less than a little for what we lost in the war. Frankly, our homes cost half a million dollars, but I asked for 30 thousand so that I could bring my aunt and protect her soul from being killed and so that she could do that. Come to Egypt safely and give her food and drink while she is stuck in northern Gaza, but unfortunately I have only collected $500 so far.
These donations will go to my aunt, the old woman stranded in the northern Gaza Strip, to give her the opportunity to travel, protect her life from being killed, and secure her daily sustenance of food and nutrition. I ask everyone who can help, do not hesitate, because we really need help. Thank you all, and I hope you don't suffer as I do. We suffered, especially my weak aunt.
