we need to talk, and i don’t even know where to start.

let me preface this by saying that i think ben is a lovely person from what i know of him, and i am in no way knocking the importance of ensemble members in a show. they are fantastic, work so damn hard, and are just as responsible for a production’s success as the principal performers. THAT SAID, y’all are OUT OF CONTROL.

i’ll start with what happened on demarius copes’s instagram live yesterday (or two days ago? it’s past midnight here). people were asking him if he goes to sign at the stage door; he said he doesn’t anymore because there are so many rude fans and “if you’re not the person they want to see, they don’t care about you.” it was heartbreaking to hear, and while it’s likely he could have been referring to fans asking about barrett or ashley or something, what happened during the rest of the live made it worse: people were continually spamming the comments asking to bring on ben cook, say hi to ben for me, where’s ben, etc. it got so bad that demarius became understandably upset and said he’d start blocking people if it didn’t stop.

quite frankly, this is ridiculous. you are all ridiculous. i don’t even know what to say to get it into your heads that this is shitty behavior.

and you don’t even treat ben well either??? i see you all constantly commenting weird/rude shit on his instagram whenever he swears, flirts with women, does normal 20 y/o things. you’re not his friend, he’s not your boyfriend, HE DOES NOT KNOW YOU. stop being so goddamn weird.

now we’re gonna move on to the fanfiction/mean girls tag problem which is more controversial but i don’t give a fuck i’m so tired of this

nobody wants to see your “rowan” fanfiction. canonically, “rowan” isn’t even a character in the mean girls musical. the name got cut. you might know this if you maybe paid attention to anything other than “x is greater than the value of y” but clearly you’re incapable of doing so since that line has been posted in the tag 8000000000 FUCKING TIMES since the cast album got released.

it’s genuinely stunning and honestly so goddamn frustrating that in a cast so diverse and female-led, y’all picked the one skinny white guy who has one line in the entire show to FIXATE ON and write paragraphs and paragraphs about. and it’s doubly insulting that the only time any of you seem to pay attention to marwan and kevin, the two mathletes of color, is when you’re writing them as a romance with unnamed white mathlete. if i have to see one more fucking “rowan is bullied and sad :(” fic in my recommended posts i’m gonna scream.

i don’t even know how to finish this. y’all are just nuts. get it together.
