does anyone have any recommendations for non-lego brand building block toys or where to buy cheap legos secondhand?

i really wanna play with legos again but they are so expensive and i feel like they are not the best brand to support bc they partner w disney and the wizarding world (aka jk rowling) and also i feel so guilty about buying toys that are so plasticky and bad for the environment :(
