Prompt: You run across the road to pet his pet
[ Fluff] (Slight crack?) (NOT BETA READ)
Warnings(?): Swearing and mentions of a possible road accident
Word Count: 2,840
-- This was originally a one-shot I wrote about someone from another fandom (that I am still a part of). I still adored the idea and decided to change it into a BNHA one. --

Hmm... That looks kind of like a disfigured giraffe, I thought to myself while looking up at the blue sky. I have the day off. No, I practically have the week off. To reward myself after a long, busy week, instead of staying indoors, I decided to take a walk to the park. Currently, I had taken a seat on the bench placed in front of the park. The sky was unmistakably filled with bright white clouds, along with the sun on the side ready to blind the my eyes. No stress. None at all… Well, maybe a few, but not enough to keep me from enjoying this peaceful day. Despite the tiredness from pulling all-nighters, the pretty sky made it worth bringing myself outside. Sitting down for quite some time to sky-watch was relieving. Though, my neck did not enjoy being bent back for too long. I groan as I massage the ache that made its way to bother my neck. I unplug my headphones and take them off my ears. After a stretch of my limbs, I push myself off the seat. It was a soothing day. It was neither too hot nor too chilly.
Now, should I go home or continue my way to the park? I mean at home I can do whatever but I might be a little bored. I can just hang out here just a little longer. I’ll get to sleep in the entire week if I’d like.
I looked deeply at the park, trying to see if there were too many people for my liking. Luckily, it was quite empty. There is a child with his mother. There are a few teenagers who seem to be playing a game of their own. There is an elderly couple, hand in hand, enjoying a walk in the park. There is a man in all blue, with a gray bag, and green wavy hair whose back is facing me. I look down and a wide smile stretches along my face. My heart melts on the inside and bursts. There, besides the man, walked one of the most adorable dogs I’ve laid my eyes on.
Wait. Wait. I want to meet the dog! It’s so cute, what in the world. Crap. The man is walking away.
My smile slightly falters when it dawns upon me. I will miss my chance to meet a new dog. That cannot happen. Though, that person is a stranger walking the dog. Someone I don’t know, but with an adorable dog. They might not enjoy my presence there. What if they’re dangerous? But the dog... It’s so pearly white, groomed, and fluffy. My ears catch the distant bark the man’s dog lets out. Heck, even the bark is adorable. Oh, no! You had no reason for that. As if it could feel my stare, the dog began looking at me. Instead of looking back at its owner, it began barking in my direction. Not in a threatening way, rather an inviting one. That is it. Forget the stranger danger crap, that’s a whole beautiful dog worthy of being pet. Please, don’t mess this up for yourself. Face that stranger.
I gathered all the courage I could muster and started walking. However, luck seemed to have faded away when the man started walking away, as well. No. No. No. Please wait! My limited attention to the road made me completely unintentionally ignore the bright red pedestrian hand for me and the green light for the cars. Before I can grasp the situation, a car that barely stops in front of me, honking the loudest it can. Adrenaline and slight shock shakes through my body. Holy fuck. Holy fuck. Another car honks right behind it, increasing my nervousness. Without another thought, I run forward, even though going back was much easier. I mean I was probably two feet away from the sidewalk. Yet again, another honk courses through the usually safe road. I instantly stop running and a silver car rushes past me. If I had not stopped, I would have been flying in the air. My breathing was now shaky; however, I kept running towards the park. I’m gonna end up in the hospital. I’m gonna end up in the hospital. I’m gonna end up in the hospital. You’re so foolish for that. The multiple honks and screeches of brakes that were let out due to my foolishness were crazy.
“Are you fucking drunk?!” one driver screams.
“Watch it,” another yells at me.
Before I knew it, my body ran past the road and into the park. Before I knew it, I stopped in front of the white dog. Before I knew it, its owner looked directly at my state. Oh, heck. I did not expect this. This is so embarrassing too. He was gorgeous and good-looking. One of the most beautiful guys I’ve ever seen. His distinct features looked so appealing. He and I just stared at one another. I’m still trying to catch my breath. I turn around to look back at the road’s situation. Nothing went wrong. How?! No accidents. No one was hurt. The few cars drove by as if nothing had ever happened. Luck really must have taken pity on me today. A few seconds pass before he speaks.
“I… Uh… What just happ- Are you okay?” he genuinely sounded worried. It takes me a couple seconds before I can properly answer.
“Uh, yeah. I’m fine. Thank you for asking. I hadn’t realized that I shouldn’t be walking. After the honking started I…uh… just started panicking so I ran forward instead of um going back,” I replied while making minimum eye contact with him.
His attention made my body feel hotter than before. Though, it could be the near accident I dealt with a minute ago.
“Luckily, there were no accidents. Do you want to sit down somewhere? You seem slightly out of it”
“No need. I can walk just fine,” I lifted my right leg up and set it right back down.
“What was the rush to cross the road? I was walking him and suddenly heard a lot of honks,” he seemed really curious. Oh crap. He’ll think I’m a fool.
“You see... This is going to sound very foolish. I was looking around the park and then I... Then I saw your doggy… Well, dog. Your dog was so adorable; and so I really want to pet them. Then you started walking away, so I walked into the road. Then that mess occurred. I know I shouldn’t have done that, but he’s cute,” my face was burning up.
This is incredibly embarrassing. I look up at the green haired man. He looked quite shocked. Then a smile makes its way through.
“All for Masaaki?” he chuckles.
“Well, he is quite the charmer, isn’t he?” he adds on. Masaaki. That’s a pretty name.
“He is,” I look down only to see Masaaki looking right at me. He smiles when I notice him and jumps up a little bit. I chuckle at his antics and bend down while wave my hand to indicate a ‘hello’.
“Well, would you look at that. He likes you!” Masaaki’s owner smiles us.
“Can I pet him?” I look up and the man nods in return. I greedily yet gently brush my hand though Masaaki’s fur. He smells delightful; it’s the scent of chamomile. The dog brushes itself into me, inviting me into what seems to be a hug. I look up for the males approval and he nods. I giggle as he lets out a sound of approval when I hug him. I release him from my arms and get back up. Masaaki looked happy since there was a clear smile on his face. The bright eyes fully confirmed it. This made my entire week.
“Would you want to perhaps walk him?” a voice suddenly suggested. I look back at Masaaki’s amused owner.
“Huh? Oh no! I don’t want to interrupt your time with him. You must’ve been heading home before I came up,” I blurted. I let out an awkward chuckle after ending my sentence. I felt bad for coming up to them out of nowhere.
“I don’t mind at all. We came here 15 minutes ago. He’s with me when I go home anyway,” he handed me the pastel yellow leash with a comforting smile. After I carefully grabbed it, Masaaki began eagerly walking in front of me.
“Thank you! Masaaki is really adorable. I wish I could’ve had a little companion, as well,” we both were walking next to each other as Masaaki roamed around.
“Are you not allowed to have a pet?” he turned his face toward me.
“Um. That’s not the case. It’s a little complicated. I was so ready to have a pet last year, but then I got very busy. It would either slip my mind or I didn’t have the time. I also was not too well off either. It would be horrible to have a pet if I can’t afford to take care of it properly. I was recently thinking of finally going to a pet shop,” I looked down, noticing how our steps were synchronized.
“You should definitely get a pet if you can. They will make your days much better,” he claimed as he proudly smiled towards Masaaki. His smile. My gosh, his smile... He... Wait, what’s his name?
“Um... I just realized I don’t-,” before I can finish my sentence, my body gets dragged by the dog who is now running at full speed. I did not let go for two reasons: My hand was tangled around the leash and I did not want to lose Masaaki. The owner’s eyes grow wide. He seems panicked, but I am well sure I heard a small chuckle too. The moment he noticed the dog running off he chased after us. He tried to catch up while calling after his dog. How is the man keeping up such a fast pace?! Is he a runner?
“Masaaki! Stop!” hearing his voice makes the tiny guy come to a halt. The man and I stood in front of each other, both confused and shocked. What made Masaaki run? After a few seconds of confusion, we both laugh at the incident that occured. I tried to catch my breath, but his laugh continued to be contagious.
“Okay,” he clears his throat trying to recover from the laugh.
“I think he was running after that,” his hand lifts towards an abandoned chew toy on the ground. Once again, I let out a chuckle at the dog’s behavior.
“I know I’m not his owner but I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to let him have that,” I tilted my head as I attempted to gain Masaaki’s attention.
“No no, you’re right. Masaaki, look over here!” his hand reaches into his bag and he takes out a squeaky yellow ball. Masaaki’s perks up in excitement.
“Can you unclasp the leash?” I nod in agreement and lean down to do just that. The man lifts his hand and throws the ball into a fair distance.
“So, what were you trying to say back there before he dragged you away?” he questions. Oh! Right.
“I was going to ask what your name was. We haven’t introduced ourselves yet,” I bashfully say.
“I completely forgot. Hello! My name is Izuku. Midoriya Izuku,” he lifts his hand and opens his fist. His face shines in the sun. He looked so beautiful...
“Hello! My name is ____. ____ ____,” I completed the handshake. I won’t lie, it was a little awkward but not the bad kind. It was a comforting one.
The hours went on and on with us having small discussions about a few random things. Nothing too serious. Nothing too frivolous. We sat down on a blue metal bench. The tree behind us swayed in the warm breeze. Masaaki was having a pleasant time going about his day. The small jokes Izuku cracked made both of us laugh. Bonus: I got to see his freckles a lot that way. Sadly, it had to come to an end. The sky started turning dark and we both had to head home. Should I ask for his number?
“Well, it was really nice meeting you,” I still felt slightly embarrassed that we met the way we had.
“I feel the same. Sudden and shocking but adorable,” I felt myself internally scream. Did he say adorable?
“I still can’t believe you almost got run over for him,” Izuku grins while he looks at me.
“I couldn’t help it. Come on. Look at your dog! He’s so fluffy and lovable,” I whined at him. We get up from the bench and start walking outside of the park. Masaaki is walking peacefully in front of us once again.
“It’s getting slightly dark. Will you be able to go home from here? I’m sure you already know how to safely go back, but I can walk you there… If you’re comfortable with it,” he offers.
“I think I’ll be fine. This place isn’t dangerous and I live close by. Thank you for asking though,” my heart fluttered a little when he asked. Though, I knew I could go home on my own just fine. I just met him today, why is my heart going haywire already? This isn’t fair.
“That’s good. Um... Would you perhaps...” he stops talking, looks away, and lightly bit his lips. Wait, is he feeling shy? He focuses back on me with more confidence.
“Would you want to exchange numbers? I had a great time and would like to meet you again,” he explained, which caught me off-guard.
“Yeah, I’d like that too,” I took out my phone and offered it to him. He puts in his contact information and inserts mine into his. The light indicates that we can walk so we carefully cross the road. Now it meant we had to separate.
“Well, I guess this is where we go our own ways,” I tell him with an unnoticed frown.
“I’ll see you later then,” he smiles.
“Goodbye, Izuku. Goodbye, Masaaki,” I wave as I start walking away. Izuku waves back with an audible “bye” leaving his mouth. Masaaki simply looks at me and tilts his head. His barks grew softer the farther away I got.
----
I crack my neck as I get out of the bathroom to make my way to my room. I hum along to the tune from a song playing in my head. I sit down on my bed, smiling at how great this day went by. I picked up my phone to see if I got any messages and I did.
Izuku: Hey, this is Izuku from the park. Did you get home safely?
Once again, my heart flutters at his question.
You: I did. Are you and Masaaki okay?
Izuku: We are. He’s a little sad you had to leave, though. He misses you already.
You: Oh no, I miss him too
Izuku: If you feel okay with it
Izuku: Can I call you?
The suddenness of it shocked me, but I chose to agree.
You: Sure

“____.”
“Yes?”
“I hope this doesn’t scare you, but I was wondering if you want to meet up tomorrow afternoon at the cafe in front of the park.”
“The brown building?” I question and he hummed to indicate a yes.
“Um... Sure. I’m up for that.” I answered once again.
“Wait. Why would that scare me?” I giggle when remembering what he said.
“I don’t know. I guess I didn’t want to come off too strong and scare you away,” he admitted with a chuckle.
“You won’t scare me away. I’m pretty sure that won’t happen. You’ve been nothing but respectful toward me,” I replied as I got up to turn off my lights and get back into my sheets.
“Thank you. Though, that is the bare minimum of me or anyone for that matter. It was kind of you to hang out with Masaaki and I,” I can hear him smiling through the phone. The conversation continues and continues. Soon enough I started feeling tired and I let out an audible yawn.
“Are you tired?”
“Um... Just a little bit. We can continue talking if you want.”
“No! You should sleep. I’m perfectly fine with talking tomorrow,” he panicked a little bit. Why is he this sweet?
“Alright, goodnight. See you tomorrow.”
“Goodnight. See you,” after a few seconds of silenced breaths the line cuts.
It then dawned upon me that I was going to meet up with him again. The gorgeous and adorable man with an adorable dog. Wait... Is it a date? No. Why would it be? Well, technically... No... The vibration from my phone pulls me out of my thoughts.
Izuku: It’s a date then
Those words were all it took for me to go to sleep feeling incredibly stunned but delighted.

Chronicles of Two Heroes and a Cat Part. 2 | Izuku Midoriya x Katsuki Bakugou
Ship: Katsuki Bakugou x Izuku Midoriya | BKDK
Requested by: @delightfulcupquakequeen
Word Count: 5,500~
Minor warnings(?): Some cursing, usage of the characters first name instead of last
Here lies the delightful memories of two heroes and a cat. From cuddle sessions to a big party, the trio continue to create memories that warm their hearts. What goes on in their life?
Meet The Father
Katsuki grumbles, huffing as he puts on his shoes, “Do I have to go?” Izuku vigorously nods his head, “Of course! We’ll have to meet the father, it’s important!”
Katsuki sighs, “Fine, but,” he turns to Amaris, “Only for you and your babies, little one.”
Carefully placing the kittens into the basket with lots of cloth, they prepare to meet the neighbors. With the previous notice and invitation, the neighbors were expecting the duos and kittens. The neighbors, which consists of a single mother with a young daughter, were more than happy to unite the kittens with their father.
Izuku and Katsuki look at each other, immediately bursting into a fit of laughter, remembering the phone call.
“Hello?” Izuku greets, with Katsuki behind him. Katsuki’s hands fold into each other as he hears the noises of a kid in the background.
“Hello? Yes,” the lady introduces herself.
“My name is Izuku Midoriya, your neighbor?” he questions, hoping they knew him.
“Ah... Midoriya, yes. Is everything alright?” she sounded worried.
“Yes, everything is… great. Kac- Katsuki and I are doing great. It’s just,” he plays with the end flap of the couch, “Well, our cat recently gave birth.” He hears the mother coddle the child, adjusting to hear him.
“Oh, really?! Congratulations! The more the merrier, huh?” she sounded shy, but tried to be energetic. 'Must be hard multitasking like that. Children are so, so adorable,' he thought.
“Yes, and,” he looks at Katsuki, who urges him to speak up, “Well, the father of those kids are… Your cat.”
A few long seconds of silence go by, only the occasional babble of the toddler being heard, before the mother gasps, “Wha… Wait. What?! Huh?”
“Woah, that’s impressive… I didn’t think he’d get a girlfriend… He’s always… So awkward around female cats. Agh! Sorry, I went off track,” Izuku chuckles at her small banter. Katsuki cupping his mouth to prevent a loud bark leaving his lips, “Just wow…. Hah? Lenox?! Why would you go after her? What did you even do to impress her? When?”
The more she spoke, the harder it got for the duo to hold in their laughter, hearing the women shocked at the fact that her awkward cat managed to get a girlfriend and kids.
“My goodness,” she chuckles, “Sorry, it’s just very surprising. I never expected this from him, but I’m glad. No wonder he’s been bouncy lately, he must’ve known.”
Katsuki tilted his head, whispered, “That dude knew?!”
“He would take food out the house and return an hour or two later, that must’ve been why,” she continues.
“Ah,” Izuku remembers, “Amaris had done the same thing. She would disappear at random moments only to return a little later.”
The duo shake their heads, Amaris only looking at them in shyness.
“But, fear not. I have no intention of keeping the kitten away from their father,” the duo sigh in relief, upon hearing her.
“Would you like to visit tomorrow?” Izuku looks at Katsuki, who puts a thumbs up.
“Yes! If that’s what works for you?” he asks, trying to be respectful of her.
She hums, “Yes, yes. That works out nicely. It would make my Raiya very happy to see her neighbors. She’s shy, but will feel better in an hour around you two.”
“I’m glad this works out well. We will see you then!” he bids, receiving a bid of goodbye in return.
“My gosh, Lenox has done a number on the neighbor's cat… Poor kitten,” she whispers into the phone, not knowing the phone had no cut. Izuku finally snaps. Bursting out a laugh as he cuts the call. Katsuki joined him, his eyes tearing up. The duo clutching their stomach at the shock and acceptance of their neighbor.
The two calm down, stepping out the door.
“My gosh, Lenox has done a number on the neighbor’s cat,” Katsuki quotes, emitting a small laugh from Izuku.
“Stop,” Izuku chuckles, “You’ll make me lose it. Can’t afford that, right now.”
The slow open of the door makes them straighten their already proper posture, “Good afternoon.”
The duo smile at the young lady, who seemed to be their age, and her daughter.
“Hello, little child,” Izuku waves at the daughter, who waves, but shyly turns away.
“Good afternoon, please come in,” she fully opens the door, letting them inside. The duo hears the distant meow of a cat, Amaris meowing in return. As soon as she does so, a scurried set of steps echoes throughout the room, seconds later a brown and white cat sliding in, right in front of them.
“Woah, woah! Be careful, Lenox,” the lady lectures, only for Lenox to step towards Amaris. The two cats cuddle up against each other, making everyone smile.
“Aw,” Izuku kneels down to them, “Hello, Lenox. I’m Izuku, technically her guardian.”
Katsuki does the same, huffing, “Hello. I’m Katsuki, guardian of the girl you knocked up.” Izuku elbows him for the use of words in front of a child.
“Ow, okay. Language,” he shakes his head at Izuku. Lenox looks at them for a few seconds before bowing his head, shocking the two.
The mother chuckles, “He sees me bow a lot, so he’s gotten the habit of doing that to people that greet themselves.”
A smile rises from Katsuki, “Hm. Maybe you’re not too bad, then.” He ruffles the cat’s fur. The two get back up, following the lady into the living room.
“Please, have a seat. I have prepared a small meal and drinks. Feel free to have anything you'd like!”
Izuku and Katsuki nod, grateful for her kindness, “Thank you!”
They hum in satisfaction, the food absolutely blowing their minds. Placing the places in the sink, they sit back in the living room. In the corner, they look at the father running around the kittens, hoping to meet them soon. Wiping his hands with a tissue, Katsuki stands up.
“Here,” he bends down, opening the flap to let the kittens out, “Your dear children.”
Instantly, Lenox jumps up, eyes gleaming and bright. He meows at Amaris, running around her, meowing out loud. Izuku’s heart melts at the action, “Aw, he’s so excited and happy!”
The neighbor chuckles, “He is! I’m assuming he knew and was dying to meet them.”
“He’s very, very loyal,” the lady looked proud of Lenox, “He’ll never hurt the kittens of your cat. Amaris, is it?”
The duo nod at her question, confirming it. Lenox and Amaris cuddle with each other, scooting up towards the kittens. Using their body to build a protective barrier, despite danger being around.
“Wan’ Wan’” the toddler babbles in the lady’s hands, who chuckles.
“Sorry, Raiya is absolutely fond of animals,” Izuku scrunches his nose at the baby in her arms.
“No worries! It’s good to be! Do you mind if I… carry her?” Izuku asks, to which the neighbor happily nods.
“Sure! I’m trying to make her interact with people. I would never force, but I know when to give her the extra push,” she gently places Raiya in Izuku’s lap. He looks down at the toddler in fondness, his eyes taking in the tiny being. Katsuki simply stares at his boyfriend carrying the child, his heart swelling at the sight. He’d make a great father, Katsuki thought. We’d be great fathers, he thought.
Izuku lets Raiya grab his finger, babbling and saying the occasional few words.
“Cat. The cat,” she jumps in his lap, grabbing the air towards the cats. Katsuki chuckles before looking at the neighbor, “Can I carry her too?”
Getting her permission, he lifts the toddler from Izuku’s lap, “Boom!” He pretended to go fast (in reality he was very careful). The child giggles at the action, quickly bubbling up at the sight of being near the cats.
“Wow! Cute,” she exclaims, touching the fur of the kittens.
“Mom, mom! My cat,” she quickly takes claim of the new kittens, eliciting a chuckle from her mother. She shakes her head, “Sorry, Raiya. It’s their kittens.” Raiya pouts, heartbroken, “Oh.”
Izuku’s heart shatters at Raiya trying not to look sad, “But you can always play with them! Okay?” At the reassurance, her eyes gleamed again.
“Well,” Katsuki begins, “We were wondering what your opinion on this situation was. We do get busy here and there, so having too many kittens would not be ideal. We may be able to take one more, but that’s about it.” He looks at the neighbor who nods in her understanding.
“I totally understand. I, too, have my hands quite full with my job, Raiya, and Lenox, so the best I can also do is take one kitten. The rest though, um,” she ponders for a second before placing a fist on the palm on her hand, “Ah! A family member wanted to adopt pets soon. I’m sure they’d be willing to take the rest. They have kids old enough to take care of them too.”
"Really?” Izuku replies, relieved, “Then, please do reach out to them and we’d be willing to talk to them about the rest.”
The trio come to a singular decision: Each will take one kitten, Eri will take one (since they have previously decided to do so), and the others can stay with their neighbor’s family. Raiya decided to keep the tallest cat of them all, being fond of its towering difference. All in all, meeting the father went perfectly. Though, leaving was a hassle.
“Lenox! They have to leave, you can see them again soon,” the male cat meows out loud at his owner, not willing to stick his paw away from the box.
They look at the scene unfold as the two cats find it hard being apart, especially with the kitten.
“Amaris,” Izuku calls out, making Amaris rip her face away from her boyfriend, “We can come again soon, okay?”
The two cats only look at each other, finally accepting defeat after 5 minutes of non-stop pawing and meows.
The duo step out, bidding their neighbors goodbye. Walking back to their house, sighing in contentment. “That went well,” Izuku smiles.
“Sure did,” Katsuki replies, pecking the male’s cheek. Izuku’s nose scrunches up, “Was this for anything?”
“What?” Katsuki lifts an eyebrow, “Can’t I kiss my boyfriend just because?”
Izuku shakes his head, “You can! I’m just saying you have a different look in your eyes.”
Katsuki hums, “I just can’t wait to build a family with you, that’s all.”
Izuku stills, shocked at Katsuki suddenness, albeit they both always knew they’d spend the rest of their lives together.
Catching up once again, he quickly pecks Katsuki cheek, “And I can’t either.” Hand in hand, holding their kittens, the duo smile at their new hopeful future.
“That damn father proved to be worthy after all,” Katsuki grumbles, making Izuku chuckle.
“Told you not to be so harsh on him.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Picking The One
“Okay!” Izuku exclaims over the phone, “Great. We will see you tomorrow then. Goodbye. Have a wonderful day.”
“Woah, that was easy, huh?” Katsuki said, taking another slurp from his spicy noodles.
Izuku nods, “Raiya’s mother already told them the entire story and they’re super willing to take them in. All of them.”
Katsuki's eyes widened a little before calming down, “Wow. Well, having a family does make it easier to have enough people to look after each other.”
“Mhm, just like us in high school, right?” Izuku remembers all of the missions, jobs, and friends. All of which built the staircase for the duo to rise to the top.
Katsuki nods, "It's sad none of them can adpot a kitten since they're swamped with hero work or already have a pet."
The other male shrugs and nods, "A little, but it's okay. I'm just glad the kittens have a safe family to stay with."
“So,” Katsuki starts, turning off the sink after washing the dishes, “Which kitten would you like to keep, Izuku?”
Izuku tilts his head, pondering for a bit, “I love them all, but… The smallest one really grabs my attention. I don’t want any of them to have poor health, so the smallest one does make me want to keep it, so I know it grows healthy.”
Katsuki hum, understand his concern. The smallest one was the one that barely made any noise, barely moved, and seemed to need lots of one-on-one attention.
Katsuki watches his boyfriend carry the smallest kitten, “Do you want to keep this small one too?” He smiles, nodding, “Yeah. It grabbed my attention too. And whatever makes you happy, makes me happy too.”
IZUKU’S POV
Katsuki hugs me from the back, his chin resting on my shoulder, “Go get ready, then sit on the couch. I’ll be there. Let’s go for a little while.”
I giggle, his breath tickling my neck, while rocking the small kitten, “Okay.”
Wearing the outfit that Kacchan insisted on me wearing, I stepped out of the room, going back downstairs. Kacchan tells me that he still has to decide.
Watching the calm breathing form of all the sleeping cats, I continue to sit on the couch. 5 minutes. Wow. He must be using the bathroom. I scroll through my phone, waiting. 10 more minutes. Huh? 5 more minutes. Is he taking a shower? I was about to turn on the TV to pass time before I heard my name shouted from the second floor.
“Izuku!” Katsuki shouts, throat raspy. “Izuku! Izuku!”
My heart pounds against my chest as he calls my name in a foreign tone. Not indicating danger, but clearly laced with anxiety.
“Kacchan?!” I scramble off the couch, quickly making my way up the stairs, “Kacchan?! Are you alright?!
“Kac-” I turn the doorknob only to be met with a candle in the middle of the room, “Huh?”
“Kacchan,” I utter, my heart steady, but still worried. Where is he?!
I step inside, kneeling down in front of the candle.
“Stand by the candle,” I heard the familiar voice encourage. Kacchan. Thank goodness.
“Kacchan, you scared me,” I sigh, only to be met with a hum.
“Yeah, didn’t mean to. I guess I was scared too, but just… just stand by the candle,” I chuckle at his soft voice, clearly embarrassed. “Okay, okay,” I stood back up beside the candle. What is this? Is there some special occasion? Some weird holiday?
“Now, don’t… Don’t go blushing and muttering away on me. Just hear me out, alright,” Kacchan dark figure nears me, the dark room only outlining his body. I nod, “Yes, yes.” It’s silent for a few seconds, then it slowly starts to hit me. Dark room. Candle. Outfits… Don’t tell me… Wait…
I hear a click and then the lights turn back on. My breath stills for a second, taking in the view in front of me. MY heart pounds against my chest, this time in excitement and overwhelming adoration for the man in front of me.
Kacchan was wearing a get-up quite similar to mine, with decorations filling up the room. The walls of our room are adorned with memories we’ve built throughout our lives. Starting from our childhood on the left to adulthood on the right. Simple nude colors and shades with a hint of jade green and maroon, representing the both of us. Petals of red roses, peonies, and dahlias spilled in a circle around us. The pictures of us smiling, of us standing in fighting stance, of us messy with mud, of us with Amaris, and plenty more. The biggest one being of us holding our hands up together, after completing a world mission.
My eyes begin tearing up, my throat clogging, but I stay quiet.
“Okay, so,” Katski starts, looking at me, “Don’t laugh.”
“Ever since childhood, you’ve been an important person in my life. Someone who was honest, caring, and daring. Admittedly, I did not treat you right. I was an asshole to you. My mentality and self-esteem were awful, so I took out on our friendship. But… You never let me go. You never did. For that I want to thank you. Every time I saw you, my body would tingle. The tingle sensation was something I did not like. So I would always push you away,” he clenches his fist.
Kacchan continued, his Adam’s apple wavering, “In high school things slowly got better. We slowly got closer. That feeling that I thought was horrible, became comfortable because I was finally able to name it. I have loved you since we were in middle school.”
“We grew together, fought together, and won together. Having you by my side always comforted me. The mere thought of you going away terrifies me. It terrified me back then, so I… I pushed you away hoping the pain of the thought would go away. But it never did. It scares me to this day to think what could’ve happened if you took all of my words to its exact saying. I’m glad that I grew as a person, but I hope that while doing so, I gave you better memories than the pain I caused,” Kacchan confessed as tears pricked his eyes, on the brink of falling down. And they do so. One by one.
He wipes his eyes, “Ah, now I’m the one ruining the mood… What was I going to say?” He sniffles before returning, my hand over my mouth, “I love you so much that it hurts. I can’t stand the thought of you separating from me. I promise to always love you. You’ve been here since practically day one. The one who pushed me, fought me, and protected me. Izuku…” He pauses, licking his lips.
He chuckles a little “I’m sure you already know what’s going on but, do not feel pressured. I will never take it to heart if you are not ready, but from now on I am. I wasn’t joking when I said I can imagine the rest of our lives together. Heck, we already spent over 20 years together. Both of us shine together. You lift me. I lift you. We are equals and will always be. So… Izuku Midoriya…”
He gets down on one knee, his pants touching the petals that lay beautiful on the ground. His clasped hand finally opened to display a circle box that carries the ring that I had been enamored by, “Will you allow our lives to bloom further by marrying me?”
My lips tremble as tears fall down my ears, my legs slightly shaking. Kacchan giggles, perhaps already expecting my quiet surprise. He simply smiles at me, knowing I needed a second to respond.
Ah, he’s… he’s such a…
“You’re such a… sudden person. You could’ve at least left a hint for me to prepare.”
He chuckled, still on one knee, scrunching his nose indicating that it wouldn’t have gone according to plan otherwise.
I sniffle down my last shocked choke, laying my hand out, “Yes… Yes, Kacchan. I will marry you.”
Suddenly, the line of a cord catches my eye, making me chuckle, “Did you set up a camera?”
His lips for a thin line, “At least you didn’t notice earlier. It's… I just wanted to keep a physical way to remember this.”
I smile ruffling his hair, “I appreciate that. I’m sure our moms would love to see what happened.”
“Don’t you dare spread this to our friends… They’ll poke stupid fun,” he grumbles.
I laugh, “I’ll try, but knowing them they’ll try one way or another to get their hands on it.”
He huffs, “I guess I’m doing this to myself.” I nod, leaning my head against his, pecking another kiss, “I’m glad you’re you. I love you so much.”
He hugs me, closing any gap that barely remained, “I love you too… so much.”
After posting the rings on our private accounts, multiple phone calls and messages thunder through our phones.
Kacchan sighs, “I’m not ready for the amount of people we have to respond to,” slumping down on the couch.
I nod, “Me neither,” scratching the back of my head, “They probably didn’t expect the proposal either.”
He rolls his eyes, “Otherwise the news would’ve reached you. Can’t keep their mouths shut for too long.”
I chuckle, “How long have you been planning this?”
He pauses to think for a second, “Maybe a few months, but the thought first popped up a little under a year ago.” My cheek heats up at the thought. He must’ve been really nervous.
Suddenly Kacchan stood up, his eyebrows knitted together, “What’s he doing here?!” I turn my head to the corner of the room where the kitten and Amaris are, tilt my head and the new sight. I breathe a laugh, “Oh my gosh! Aha!”
Lenox held a flower in his mouth, a few moves laid out on the floor in front of Amaris, her eyes slightly wide. His head was tilted down words, whispering something.
“Is he… proposing?!” I gush at the sight, making Kacchan scrunch his nose.
“Copycat. Why is he doing it here? Why not some other place?”
“Oi!” he shouted, but I pulled on his arm.
“Let him finish,” I urge him to sit back down, noticing Amaris stand on her feet. She goes up to Lenox, slowly. Leaning forward she rubs her head on his neck, licking him. She accepted!!
“Damn it,” Kacchan sighed, “Well, I guess two proposals make it joyful for everyone.”
I vigorously shake my head, “How about-”
“Okay. I’m fine with them getting married during our wedding,” he interrupts, already knowing what I thought.
I smile, “Thank you.”
Wedding Hassle
KATSUKI’S POV
“Where’s the tie?!” Eijirou shouts, “Hello?! Tie?! Where?!”
‘Calm down! I have it,” Mina lifts her hand up, waving around the tie, huffing. Eijrou sighs in relief, “Had me panicking for a second.”
“Dude. You have to stop being so stiff,” Eijirou, poking my back, earning a glare.
“I’m the one getting married. Of course I’m- Nothing, dumbass,” I shake my hands, trying to cool down my sweaty hands. Why now? I need to calm down.
“I get it. I was really nervous during my wedding too,” I heard a familiar elderly voice call out. Mom.
“Really?” she nods at my question.
“At some point I had thoughts that I would never find the one because… of my personality, but your father accepted all of me. Flaws and all. We helped each other and in the end… We worked out just fine,” she smiles at me.
“I’m saying this once, Katsuki. Never shatter his heart. He’s forgiving and understanding, but that doesn’t mean he always will be,” she holds my shoulder, “But I know my boy well enough, too. You’ll neer do anything like that.”
I give her a small smile, “What if… I do something stupid out there?”
Denki barks a laugh, “Imagine falling! Immediate ick,” only to receive a slap on the head from Kyouka.
Mom chuckles, “Izuku loves all of you, so don’t worry. Remember that he accepted all of your flaws and growth. A small stupid fall won’t make him fall out of love. Rather,” she shows me her eye smiles, “He’ll run to help you up.”
I smile, “Yeah… He would.”
I take a deep breath, looking at the small figure next to me, “If you run out of the court without marrying Amaris, I’ll chase you.”
Lenox only stares at me, blinking in the neighbor’s lap, who suppresses a laugh.
“I’ll chase you too, little bud,” she shakes the cat, who is adorned with a light suit, “Amaris is too adorable to be walked out on.” He only meows out loud, his nose slightly scrunched.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m scared too,” I whisper to him, petting his head, “Let’s go.”
IZUKU’S POV
I wipe my sweaty hands on the napkin, breathing in and out. It’s okay. Not a dream. Everything will be okay. A-okay. No! What if he’s not ready at the last minute?! Well he’d never do that, but what if I do something stup-
“Izuku,” Shouto lays his hand on my shoulder, “Deep breaths. Are you good?”
I nod, “Just… I’m just worried. What if something goes wrong?”
Ochaco pops her head out of the wardrobe to pull out a chain that goes on my suit, “Finally. Anyways, I doubt things will go horrible. You have all of us and our former teachers. I’m sure if anything goes wrong, our quirks will be useful enough.”
I sigh, “I know… But what if I say something weird, during the you know?” I pet Amaris, who was dressed up in a simple, but beautiful dress.
“Don't worry, honey,” I heard mom say, walking up to cup my cheeks, “You and Katsuki really love each other. Pure, indefinite love. If anything,” she smiles, “I’d say it’ll be the representation of your love if any one of you makes a small mistake. Besides, it’s only natural for one tiny detail to be out of place. It makes us human, hm?”
I nod, appreciating her truth. It does make us human.
She breathes in, “So, any stuttering, mumbling, and whatnots is allowed. Just keep your chin up and marry the man you’ve loved for the longest time.”
I hold her hand, smiling, “Mm, mom. Thank you.”
Looking at the basket where Amaris lies, I bend down, “Almost time, little one.”
She only purrs in response, her eyes shining in the bright light, a magical shining aura around her. She’s really excited.
THIRD PERSON POV
That day, flowers bloom in their most beautiful form, flowing in the air, surrounding the two who have loved each other for the longest time. Their love blooms further as they lean toward each other, their vows touching every heart present.
Izuku squeezes Katsuki's hands, trying to calm himself down, finishing his speech, “No matter what, I’ll have your back, and you’ll have mine. I have never doubted you, because I knew you better than what was said and spread about you. This is not the first time that I’ll say this, but despite being surrounded by powerful heroes since I was a kid, you were the hero that was closest at arm's length. You inspired me, encouraged me, and were the most powerful rival I could’ve asked for. All of your sacrifices were made for both of us. You’ve grown for yourself and me. Till this day, my heart holds endless love for you. I promise to love you with your entirety. I promise to be there for you through hardships, sickness, success, and flourish. Katsuki Bakugou, I love you and will continue to love you, even in the afterlife.”
Katsuki bites the inside of his lips, preventing himself from tearing too much. He begins his speech, holding the similar weight as Izuku’s, their love spilling through words. He breathes in, finishing the last bit, “You have always protected me and I have always protected you. Together, I believe we’re too powerful, but let that be so. I want to keep you safe and sound. I know our workfield is dangerous, but I promise to be the best support system you have. I want to continue being your home. I want to be the person who loves you and is loved by you forever. You mean so, so much to me. Watching you grow up to be such an expressive and positive role model fills my heart to its brim. You made me want to become a better person, because it was only right for me to face myself, instead of pushing it all down. Through sickness, health, hardships, and success, I vow to be there for you. I want to be there for it all. Izuku Midoriya, I love you and promise to do so, even after the world disappears.”
The crowd erupts in sobs, claps, whistles, and banter, it all cheering the duo on. The cats present beside them, meowing at each together, making their own vows as they stand on their pedestals. Lenox in awe of Amaris’s attire, his eyes shined with only her. She was his world, the mother of his kids. He places her as one of the most important ones in the world. She accepted him through it all. His awkwardness, bluntness, coldness, and insecurities. She was the night to his moon, making him shine so bright. Amaris looks back at him with just as much love. Meeting him was like meeting her destined one. Admittedly, she reached out for him first, encouraging their friendship, which quickly blossomed into love. She was patient and he opened his entire heart to her. Letting her in on his daily small adventures, protecting her, bringing her gifts, and… showing her endless love. He was the day to her sun. Looking at the duo beside them and the crowd that also cheers for them, the two cats near each other kissing.
The two males leaning forward, the two words pricking the tip of their tongues.
“I do.”
“I do.”
A couple of meows sound throughout the air. And there it was, the beginning of their new label, “married.”
The couple grumble waking up from their late night shenanigans. Their phones, once again sounding off too much. “Agh, turn that shit off,” Katsuki groans. Izuku yawns, picking up his phone only to chuckle, laying his phone down again. He cuddles up against his… husband, now.
“What was it? Swear it better not be some shitty request to interview us.”
Izuku laughs, hugging him, “Nmn. Just the group chat going off because they’re making fun of the news videos and headlines about us.”
Katsuki lifts his head up, “What were they?”
Izuku suppresses laughter,” It… Haha… It was ‘Cat Lovers and their Cats Married?!’ ‘Top Heroes Encourage A Weird, But Cute Wedding Idea’ ‘Today’s News: Sudden Marriage?! Such A Booming Shocker!’”
Katsuki snorts, “They have too much time on their hands, it’s barely been a day.”
“I know,” Izuku hums in Katsuki’s arms.
“I still am kind of shocked, you know?” Katsuki leans up, his head on his hand. Izuku’s hand still wrapped around his waist.
“Why?” Izuku asks, still laying on his pillow.
“I just… It feels too good. It all went by so lovely. The decorations, the vows, and everything. No mistakes- Okay, well, except for me staring at you too long when you were in front of me, but that’s not it. I’m just so glad we’re married. I’m hoping to keep this forever,” he plays with his ring.
Izuku smiles, his eyes squinted, “Me too, Kacchan. I love you too much to let you go now. Not after everything. So there’s no hoping, it’s already an expectation, assured expectation at that.”
He laughs at his green-haired lover, well… husband, “Yeah, assured expectation. I like the sound of that… Sounds more intense and badass.”
Izuku’s cheeks heat up, “Don’t make fun of it.” Katsuki smiles, pecking his lips, “I’m not, love. I like it when you use our creative writing side. Makes my heart tingle a little more.”
"Is that so?” Katsku nods at Izuku.
Izuku lets out a mischievous smile, “I guess I’ll use it more often.”
“Agh, stop it. Forget I ever said that,” he huffs, knowing the man in front of him has one of the best memories out there.
“Just like you told me to forget you used to keep a picture of me in your locker? Or when you slipped in the high school’s boy’s locker room when you thought we were alone and busted your ass?” Izuku teased. Once he is in the mood to poke harmless fun, he’ll do it, mercilessly. Most of these, he was simply somehow there to see these happen in real time.
“Agh! Forget it!”
“Nope, didn’t forget a single thing you told me to forget.”
“Alright, I’ll cuddle you more, if you just don’t remind me of those.”
Izuku laughs, “Yes, yes. Come closer now.”
Katsuki huffs, closing any gap, already going back to the position they’ve grown to unconsciously already do. Izuku arms around him, and his arms around Izuku. The both facing each other, legs linked, preventing any cold air interrupting their warmth.
Truthfully, their love did not need to be proven by the label of marriage. It did make life easier, saving them from others doubting their relationship. But those people did matter either. The presence of each other was all they needed. Their dream wedding was possible because of each other. Their hard work, fights and confrontations, reconciliation and understanding always strengthened their love. The duo invited a cat into their lives, which only made them realize one more thing: Having an actual family would brighten their lives, because perhaps they were almost ready.
Katsuki and Izuku went through life from the rock bottom, building their relationship, from rivals to friends to lovers. Though they weren’t the typical hateful rivals, they were pining rivals, both too stubborn and anxious to reveal their not-so-platonic love. And here they are, matured and grown, willing to go through any obstacle because they love each other. Supporting one another. Knowing each other more than others. Katsuki and Izuku worked hard to bloom their love, taking their time with it too. Now, with their arms around each other, the two husbands listen to their linked content hearts, which are filled to the brim with adoration and devotion for one another.
I’m Not Scared! - Todoroki Shouto x Reader
Reader and Shouto unable to sleep after watching a horror movie, but neither will admit that the movie scared them.
(Note: Reader is not easily scared. I am someone who doesn't get scared much when watching horror movies. That's why I wrote it from that perspective. Not beta read.)

It was not supposed to be like this. Me, scared? Of a horror movie? I really don’t like to admit it, but, that movie did shake something inside of me. The credit were rolling. The living room was nearly pitch black, for the TV was the only light source. The eerie melody did not help either. It brought back flashbacks of the most gruesome killings I’ve ever seen in a movie. It’s fine. I’ll be okay. I’m not scared. I’m not that scared.
I look at my boyfriend. His gleaming eyes were focused on screen before he turn to me.
“That was, uh, nice, huh? I expected it to be scarier but I guess not,” he said. He seems undisturbed by the movie. Huh? Say what? Scarier? Did we even watch the same movie? That has to be the most disturbing movie I’ve seen in my entire life. Kirishima did warn us...
“Yeah, I don’t know why Kirishima and the others were terrified. It’s the same as other horror movies,” I chuckled, trying to keep my mind off the images that keep popping up. No, it wasn’t. This does not compare to any of the horror movies I’ve watched. Normally, I’d be over the movie by now, but this time I’m not.
“Well,” he stood up from the couch. I slightly panicked. Where is he going?
“Let’s clean this small mess up.” He grabbed the empty wrapper and bowl. Oh. I nod in return, following him with the empty cans we drank from.
Suddenly, the room went entirely dark.
The light from the TV was black. My heart skipped a beat. Crap. I nearly let out a gasp. Luckily, I caught myself. I couldn’t even see Shouto’s figure anymore. Not long after, there was shuffling from my right.
“Shouto?” I call out with my hands gripping the cans a little tighter. I hear a hum before a light beams on my face. I squint at the bright light shining in the his hand.
“Can’t see the room. I’ll turn on the lights,” Shouto says before leaving my side to flick the switch on. Utter silence. He moved so quietly, I almost thought he hadn’t moved at all until there was brightness. Relief washed over me as I saw everything was okay. Shouto was still here. This was still my house. And nothing went wrong.
“Are you okay?” he questioned me from his spot. He looked calm, as usual. Was he really not phased by all those scenes in the movie?
“Yeah, just didn’t see you walk past me,” I reply before walking towards the kitchen. Shouto walks up behind me with the other dishes. I proceeded to wash it all while he put away any leftovers.
Suddenly, a sharp loud noise comes from the living room. My heart nearly falls out at the heavy familiar tune. I grip the bowl tighter to prevent it from falling. It was the same horrifying tune that grew to become more and more menacing as the movie went on. My fist clenches tightly into itself.
“Oh, I forgot to turn off the TV. It must’ve replayed on its own,” he rushed inside the living room to take care of the task. I quickly let out the sigh of relief when the tune stopped. However, the killings and horrific moments from the movie would not stop popping into my mind. It kept me on edge. I never thought this would be my reaction to a horror movie. As soon as Shouto entered the kitchen again, I eased up a little more. I just need him beside me for a bit, then I'll be okay.
“Let’s go,” I nod, following him to get into our bedroom.
We both were in our room, except for the past hour, I was sitting up on the bed and Shouto was next to me on his laptop. Despite the tiredness I felt in the afternoon, sleep was something that was not coming to me. Whenever my eyes closed, the storyline, the faces, and the sounds continued to bother me. Due to Shouto's display of calmness, I did not express, for once, getting spooked by a mere horror movie.
“Aren’t you tired?” I asked Shouto, who seemed to be finishing up a report from his agency. He hummed before looking at me.
“Not... really. You can go to sleep. No need to wait up for me,” he lets through a small smile.
“Oh, well... I’m not tired either.” That's embarrassing.
“Hm, did the movie scare you?” he now looked worried. Shouto pushed the laptop a little to the side before scooting himself towards me.
“No, I’m fine. Not sure why I’m not tired. Why? Did it uh freak you out?” Please tell me it did. Please tell me it did. Please tell me-
He shook his head ‘no’. How!?
“It didn’t, but the movie was alright,” he went right back to work after responding to the question. Of course. It does take a lot to scare him.
I continued to scroll through my phone while Shouto types out his documents. His hero work often requires reports of the patrols, fights, and whatnot. I’m guessing it’s the report on today’s patrol combined with the research he needs to do for a mission. The silence between us wasn’t awkward but there was something left unspoken. The bed shook a little and I noticed him get out of bed. Where is he going? Before I can say anything, Shouto entered the bathroom and closed the door. Oh, bladder business.
His absence did not help calm my nerves. The feeling was indescribable. It was as if a presence was there. I took in a deep breath to brace myself. Calm down!
However, the sudden loud thud against the window tipped me further into the emotion. Looking at the window, there was a huge crack. It seemed as though one touch would shatter it out of the barely stable placement. The noise from the bathroom and frost coming from underneath the door did not help. I quickly ran to the door and started knocking. First reason: I was worried Shouto got injured from a possible intrusion and wanted him near me. Second reason: the ice under the door made no sense, unless it was something important. Frantically and constantly, my knuckles hit the wood. The ice from the bathroom only grew. Slipping on the sudden ice under my feet, I fell to my knees. A hiss left my mouth. The jagged part of the ice formed marks on my skin.
“S-Shouto?! Are you okay?” I questioned. I was worried and confused for the sudden need of his powers. I heard scrambling from inside the bathroom and the ice begins to melt. Soon enough, the door opens and Shouto was in front of me. His figure towers over my state.
“Shit, sorry,” he gently pulls me up. Carrying my body, he lets me down on the bed.
-3rd person POV-
“D-did you hear it too?” you asked, wondering if the sound ticked him off.
“Yeah,” silence followed after.
“Um...” not knowing what to say, you decided to hug Shouto. Shouto wrapped his arms around you.
“Are you okay? I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he asked, pulling away. You shook your head, indicating that you were fine.
“Just fell, that’s all. Why the ice?”
“I heard a loud noise and accidentally let my power run out,” he replied.
Huh? That rarely happens, you thought.
“Did you knock because of my ice?” he looked at you with a curious face.
“Uh, yeah. Well...” you weren’t sure how to respond. How can you tell him that you were scared and the noise tipped you off?
“Where did the noise come fro- Oh,” Shouto’s eyes wandered to the cracked window. He wondered if that was the reason behind your slightly frightened state.
You both weren't sure whether or not to confess.
Shit. I really didn't mean to hurt them. They're not bleeding, but there is a possibility bruising will appear in the morning.
Shouto cups your cheek and slides thumb across it.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you like that," he continues his gesture.
You place a hand on his left arm, "As long as I'm able to make sure you're okay, a little accident isn't bad."
"I'll call the local agency to figure out the odd occurrence," Shouto leaves your side for a few minutes to gather information.
He stands at the foot of the bed during the conversation. He wanted to ensure your safety, especially after the eerie event. However, he was relieved after receiving better news.
"What did they say?" you asks, looking up at him from the bed.
"Nothing to worry about. There was a child who manifested a wind quirk and accidentally threw objects around with great force. Multiple houses called the agency, as well, regarding their broken windows and cars. It happened at the time our window cracked, so that answers our question."
You smiled with pity, "That's horrible. The child must feel horrible for the ruckus."
"Hm, probably."
1st Person (Reader)
I really wanted to confess. Shouto, that damn movie scared me. Although the phone call reassured our safety, my nerves did not calm down.
Shouto stretches his arms as he nears our bed.
"Are you done with your work?" I asked, removing the bedsheet from his side.
"I am. Some of it needs to be gone through with the others, so I plan on meeting with them tomorrow," he slides his feet into the sheets and lays down next to me.
He places his arm on my waist but does not shut his eyes. I don't shut mine either.
3... 2.5... 2... 1.5... 1...
"About the mo-" we both mutter at the same time, catching each other by surprise.
"Uh, you first,"
"No, you can go ahead," he responds.
I cringe at my thoughts. This is embarrassing.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about the interesting plot of the film," a fake smile spreads across my face.
He does not seem to believe those were my original thoughts, but he does not mention his skepticism.
"Yeah, no one really got a safe or happy ending."
"Anyways, who will you be meeting tomorrow?" I changed the topic immediately to avoid speaking of the movie.
"Well, I know Bakugou, Midoriya, and Tsuyu will be among the few. There is also the pro-heroes we've occasional met in high school. Do you remember the students from Shiketsu?"
"Ah, yes, I do. Especially the one who... messed up the provisional license test with you," he takes my hands into his an brings it up to his face. My face warms up at the gesture.
"You're tense. Are you sure you're okay?" he looked worried at my behavior. I didn't even notice the stress I placed on my shoulders and arms.
"Well..." I debated tell him the truth, but at this point... Just tell him!
"Please don't make fun of me," I start off.
"I won't. I promise," he smiles as I take a deep breath.
"The movie was a little bothersome. I can't get over the scenes."
He blankly stares at me. A silence meets the room for a few long seconds. Great.
"I know. It probably wasn't that scary for you, but-"
"You too?" Huh?
"What do you me-," it hits me. I get up from my position, "You got freaked out by it?"
"Yeah," he scratches the back of his head as he, too, raised himself up.
"Oh my gosh. You won't believe how relived I am, right now. Well, not because you're scared, but you won't poke fun," I let out a breathy laugh.
"Even if I wasn't, I'd never make fun of your feelings. It's completely fine to feel scared," he rubs the back of my hand with his thumb.
"Do you feel better getting that off your chest?" he asked. I nod in return.
Wait a minute... My eyebrows scrunch up remembering the incident that happen not too long ago. I fully face Shouto, and he immediately returns the gesture.
"Wait... Was that why your ice went off?" he blushes at my realization. I chuckled and ruffle his hair.
"I'm guessing it's the same for you?" I place my forehead on his and let out a flustered 'yes' before going back to my previous posture.
"We both really are too stubborn to admit we were scared."
"Definitely," I replied
"Let's go back to sleep. We have to wake up a bit earlier than usual tomorrow. Well.. Today since it is a few minutes past 12 AM," I was confused at his sudden schedule change.
"Aren't you clocking into work at noon?" I asked.
"Well, my love," he takes my chin into his hand and comes close, "To make up for the ruckus and feelings for today, I am treating you."
He is truly going to be the death of me. I cannot believe I had lower expectations when I first met him. I was too shocked at his gesture to speak or move. He simply smiles and pulls both of us back into our covers. Shouto presses his body against mine, maximizing our contact with each other.
"We'll both be here for each other if the other gets a nightmare," he presses his face into the crook of my neck and places a small kiss.
"Let me treat you tomorrow, too. You deserve it," I told him. No matter what he says, I already have my decision set.
"A day out getting ourselves pampered, it is," his grip on my body tightens as we comfort each other to sleep.
His scent fill my mind, removing all the bad scenes that previously occupied my mind. His touch removed the feeling of murderous hands around my body. His soft breath slowly removed the screams of agony and terror that previously looped in my ear.
I slowly rake my hand through his hair. I hope I am doing the same for him. His calm heartbeat and regular breath only reassures my hopes.
"We're safe with each other."
"We're safe with each other," he confirms.
We're both lucky to have each other.
