Heya, I'm Peridots (any pronouns, they/it works fine)! Your average digital artist/entomology enthusiast! This is partly an art blog, but be prepared for occasional Bug Facts and other such randomness. Spam likes and all other positive interactions are appreciated here! Terfs, zionists and the like aren't allowed within about a hundred feet of my blog, however! peridots-reblogs medic tf2 tf2 was gonna type out the date i first read every single tf comic in one sitting andd turns out that was 6 months ago today! which I think makes up for being a little late to reblog this :] i just mean that was probably the day i really got into tf2 even if i've never played it and i'm. fairly excited for you to be enjoying it now!! also happy anniversary to mtm and its double coincidence I wouldn't have noticed i think you got him pretty well though especially in the top left portrait :] deeply wish i had more to say but unfortunately! not mieczmaszyna *actually general 'tf2 comic' not 'tf comic' cause like. all 26 of them over the course of four hours

[Start IDs. Two ULTRAKILL screenshots from levels P-1: SOUL SURVIVOR and 6-1: CRY FOR THE WEEPER, respectively. Both are viewed from behind a death screen, as OP was killed by one of Minos' shockwaves in the first and then a Hideous Mass' explosives in the second. However, the health bars of both bosses are at 0, and the stats on the right indicate that both levels were technically completed right before death, with an S in time, kills, and style; otherwise a perfect P-Rank. End IDs]

ok so technically i p-ranked P-1 a week ago but it's the fact that this happened AGAIN that's getting me!!!!!!!!! i've got my own personal layer in hell (p-ranking a level and immediately dying to a boss's passive attacks; forced to repeat forever) and it's basically just the punishment of sisyphus which is REAL FUNNY cause i'm DOING THIS TO REACH P-2. only have 5-2 and 6-1 left but i'm waiting until i can draw again so i can name my first attack of AF after 5-2 so 6-1 it is ok. well last time this happened i went on to p-rank the level in the next attempt so. don't fail me now peridots-nonsense Ultrakill maybe i should have a tag for me just liveblogging games? perhaps?

A sketch of Gabriel Ultrakill, uncolored and done entirely in yellow and teal. Areas that would normally be black are shaded in yellow hatching, and golden armor is decorated with the same curving, jagged lines that OP regularly uses to shade. Most of his body is shown, but part of his lower body, his entire left wing (our right), and the tip of the right wing are blocked off by the sketches of other artists. Notably, his wings are veined and shaped in a similar fashion to scarab wings, the runes above them like elytra, and an alluding note from OP reads "beetle gabe" twice in all caps. He gestures with his left arm in the air, corresponding hand lightly curled inward at face-height, right arm bent outward at his waist. Between this and a very faint expression upon his helmet, he might read as excited.

Three sketches in mostly green of, dare
I say once again, more Ultrakill characters. The first, in the top left of the image, is a small Swordsmachine standing neutrally, both gun-arm and sword-arm slack at its sides, staring off to the right. In the center is Bugzapper, a machine OC belonging to OP. They're sentry-headed with an antenna on either side, viewed from the neck up, one pair of hands palm-down under their chin to convey a smug cutesy expression. Caption by OP reads "abt to railcoin yuo" [sic]. Third and final doodle depicts Minos Prime chest-up, chiton wrapped around one shoulder. He stares up and to the right, small lines by his head evoking the barbed wire of his corpse. His circulatory system is lined in purple, and another one of my notes reads "almost forgot how fun it is to draw hearts".

A few Ultrakill characters drawn in the chibified, super-simplified style of Hakita's V1 fumo. V2 and Swordsmachine are in the center, and the V1 on the right is cut off, as it was not drawn by OP.

peridots-art bugs bots Ultrakill gabriel ultrakill swordsmachine ultrakill bugzapper ultrakill minos prime ultrakill v2 ultrakill plus the rest of the fumos but those weren't done by me. someone was drawing v1 so i put a v2 beside them and came back later to like 5 mor hence why they are out of frame. anyway this was a LOT of fun I lost track of time and stayed up till dawn even there were so many cool and/or recognized artists.... i keep checking the ultrakill tag to see if anyone else posts their own sketches it was posted at like 2am my time though so i didn't get to stay very long.... i checked in today on the fumo drawings and there was just so much new art over there and in general. so many people doodling and having fun and complimenting each other and bonding over the things we all like. im gonna cry anyway. i think this is the longest period of non-posting (not inactivity. lol) on tumblr i've ever had so might've forgot some tags. also i think i'll use alt text for multiple images and regular id for 1-2 edit also i wrote 'today' in the tags up there but it was in fact two days ago. regardless ALSO. sorry if the alt text is hard to read or anything. never used it before + penchant for lengthy descriptions can you tell i'm really proud of the beetle gabe btw. men will see a character say 'anyone gonna buggify that?' and not wait for an answer WAIT i've already made that joke haven't i. whatever turn your blorbo into an insect or some sort of gay bug today

Sibling asked me to fill a page with ultk characters three days ago and I think I had. A very normal amount of fun doing that.

BARELY THERE. sorry. also for the kitr caption merlin's our cat :] sorry to anyone who was searching hopefully for their favorite Guy and got a miniscule doodle. i love everyone here though if it helps :] currently halfway through p-ranking act II but i don't have any other tangents besides that. so anyway bugzapper ultrakill peridots-ocs < experimental name for that guy in the middle. i wanted an ultrasona and then realized the lust layer doesn't have a miniboss like 0/2/4/5 *1 not 2. anyway i originally thought (like. two days ago) it could be 2-2's theoret. boss but the music for 2-3 fits better so. ?? gay bug but in 2-2 you could fight it in the end arena and get the railcannon when you beat it... but 2-3's challenge and theme fits better... idk ALSO I GOTTA DRAW ON PAPER MORE!!! i haven't done that with any frequency since like three years ago but it's getting frustrating trying to draw digitally since i'm a perfectionist and take so much time on everything that i'm just not able to draw as much as i used to. it's sad! but this WAS fun! and quick! and i didn't obsess over the tiny details i didn't have to plan ahead i just Drew! it was. really nice :]

It seemingly takes place during phase two of his second fight, judging by Gabe's bright yellow-cyan wings and the consequent blush shining through his helmet. Gabriel is pictured on the left, facing the left side of the screen with his head turned to V1, preparing to strike them with the bloodied spear in his right hand. Small but frequent splatters of blood dot his armor and outstretched wings, fabrics torn through in places. V1 is on the right, aiming its piercer revolver at his face. Their arms are stacked in pairs on either side, idle Feedbacker and Knuckleblaster on the left and Whiplash tucked atop their default arm on the right. Both parties are stylized to resemble insects, Gabe with beetle wings and a halo in the shape of antennae, and V1 with the four wings, four arms, short antennae and bristles expected of a dragonfly. also a couple alts (background removed, just gabe, and just v1, respectively) in hopes it'll be a little easier to understand what's going on and all!

additionally once again: special thanks to @magnumopos and @muzzleroars , neither of which I have actually spoken to in my life but both of which are credited with partially inspiring this! (dedicated section under the readmore due to the fact I do not generally tag people at all ever and wasn't sure if I should, but thought it was worth mentioning!) The former for giving me the wonderful idea of dragonfly V1, the latter for drawing V1 like a strange little creature + for the feedbacker plate, I enjoy both your works :]

(retroactively, on march 27th of 2024, assigning them a full bingo with credit to deep-space-lines. ehehehehe)

peridots-art gabriel ultrakill v1 ultrakill Ultrakill bots bugs drawing them more buggish now... i have a whole chart listing uk characters as bugs and it's so fun v1 is dragonflyish for many reasons and gabriel (+ council)'s heavily bee-coded but I like drawing him more beetlelike. anyway eyestrain blood gabv1el < yes gabe's wholeheartedly trying to kill v1 and v1's actively harming him. yes this is ship art. they're having fun not a thing that I feel I really need to clarify when it comes to ultrakill i just thought it was funny anyway. yes yes more ultrabright ecstasy-winged gabriel with blood all over him. as to be expected of my ultrakill fanart. however this obviously isn't my usual style but it WAS pretty fun to draw. i wanted to draw something chaotic and abnormal anyway for this i kind of wanted it to be a successor to the nov29 gabe post and to mess around with it so. task completed 👍 there definitely was more i wanted to say here (besides clarifying it's been a year since the act 2 release + that means a lot to me) but i can't think of anything else so woe! bugs be upon ye actually aug22 addition: if this inspires your own uk art in any way shape or form. PLEASE tag me in it :]
