great hammerhead sharks are the largest of the hammerhead sharks, growing to be up to 6 metres(~20 ft) long. they live in tropical coastal and inland waters in oceans around the world. great hammerheads eat a wide variety of prey including rays, bony fish, smaller sharks, and crustaceans. their unique head shape allows them to sense the electromagnetic fields all living creatures give off to locate prey, especially rays. great hammerhead have been observed pinning rays in the sand while hunting to immobilise them.
