While on the signal you see a florist right beside the footwalk. You check the signal again 2:15. Can you make it? He would love if you brought flowers right.

Changbin's giddy thoughts were broken by the ringing of his phone.

"hello chan!" he greeted happily. But the smile on his face fell instantly.

"WHAT!"

"is everything okay?" you asked looking at him as he turned pale. He looked at the message chan said and rushed to his room shutting the door loudly leaving you alone on the couch the sound of TV fading in the back.

A gunshot fight broke out. And you cowered behind han clenching his jacket. He grasped your wrist turning around pulling his gun out. He moved you away from the car's bonnet slowly walking back and you followed. Once near the door he hurriedly opened it throwing you in the car and shuting it back.

Countdown to Christmas (Eve)

Summary: When your long-time best friend Jeongin invites you to his friend's Christmas Eve party you immediately agree without a second thought, excited to spend your Christmas Eve mingling and having fun with your best friend and his other friends. You’re set to speak to your soulmate for the first time on Christmas Eve anyways, as the timer counting down on your wrist shows you, and you figure this must be your opportunity to finally meet the person you’ve been longing for for so long. At the party you immediately find yourself intrigued by one of Jeongin’s friends, spending the entire night admiring him from afar as he lights up the room and you silently hope that he’s your soulmate. What will fate have in store for you tonight, and will the handsome stranger turn out to be the soulmate you’ve been waiting to meet for your entire life?

- You stared at your figure in the mirror, adjusting the necklace dangling from your neck as you admired your outfit. It was simple but cute, a brand new deep red sweater and a simple pair of black jeans being just nice enough to wear to a party without feeling like you were vastly over-dressed for the occasion. Besides, it was Christmas Eve, you were meant to be comfy and have a fun night.

- It was also the night you were destined to meet your soulmate, the clock to your wrist reminding you as you looked down at it for the millionth time that day, meaning you wanted to look your best. This person was destined to be the love of your life, after all, and you were determined to make a good first impression on them.

- It was no secret that you had been anxiously awaiting this day the entire month, almost not able to believe that you would finally be able to meet your soulmate on Christmas Eve after waiting for this moment for your entire life. You had a myriad of questions, all about what your soulmate would be like and whether or not the two of you would click, but you knew that you needed to leave these matters up to fate. There was nothing you could do to change whatever was meant to happen tonight, and fate had never been wrong in any of your friends’ relationships, so you needed to trust that this would all work out in both your and your soulmate’s best interests.

- After a final moment of glancing over your reflection in the mirror you decided you were good to go and began making your way out of the bathroom, noting that it was already nearly 7 and you and Jeongin had promised to be at the get-together by 7:30. Jeongin had informed you that the house was a decent drive away, and you knew the traffic on Christmas Eve was going to be absolutely horrendous, so you needed to get moving now if you wanted to have any hope of making it to your destination on time.

- “Ready to go?” Jeongin asked you once you walked out into his living room, popping his head up from the couch where he had been waiting for you. “You look good, I’m sure whoever your soulmate is will be ecstatic once they meet you.” He honestly encouraged, attempting to ease your obvious nerves.

- Thank you, Jeonginnie. I just hope whoever they are, they’re nice and we’re able to get along well.” You told him, smiling nervously when he glanced at you as the two of you made your way to the car and locked the door behind you.

- “I’m sure they will be. My friend Chan only invited a few people tonight, and I know everyone that’s coming. They’re all cool people, you have nothing to worry about.” He reassured you, easing the worries swirling in your head slightly. You trusted Jeongin’s judgement of character, and if he said that these people were all kind, good people then you believed him.

- “Jeongin! It’s so good to see you, you haven’t come over in forever!” You heard the short, incredibly buff man in front of you exclaim as he opened the door and immediately moved to hug Jeongin. You still had a little over an hour until you were set to talk to your soulmate for the first time, so this man clearly wasn’t your destined partner, but his energy immediately managed to put a smile on your face and you could tell right away that the two of you were going to get along perfectly well.

- “Hi Changbin! Sorry it’s been so long, things have just been so busy lately.” Jeongin stressed as he moved in to return the older male’s hug. “This is Y/n, my friend I mentioned! I’m really excited for all of you guys to meet them.” He continued, gesturing to you as he spoke and causing the man to divert his attention to you.

- “Oh, hi! Jeongin’s told us a ton about you, it’s nice to finally meet you!” Changbin said as he turned to look at you with a welcoming grin, reaching out his hand to shake your own before opening the door wider to welcome the two of you inside for the small gathering. 

- “Chan will come greet you guys in just a second, he’s just dealing with the mess in the kitchen right now. Felix and Seungmin were trying to make cookies, but they forgot about them and left them in the oven too long so now Chan’s trying to clean up that mess.” Changbin explained, rolling his eyes at his friends’ antics as he gestured towards the kitchen. 

- “Why do you guys let them near the kitchen at this point?” Jeongin groaned at his friend’s story, turning to you with an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, things aren’t usually this chaotic so early on. Usually it takes at least a couple of hours for something to go wrong.”

- “Jeongin, it’s okay. Your friends seem… fun.” You told him as you giggled, shifting around in an attempt to peek into the kitchen and see just how much of a mess had been created before you even arrived. 

- You quickly snapped your head back and resumed your position at Jeongin’s side, however, as you saw another incredibly strong-looking man make his way out of the kitchen with an exasperated look clearly plastered on his face. “Okay, I think we’ve gotten everything cleaned up. Those cookies were literally as hard as a rock, there was no salvaging them so we just threw them all out and I started a new batch.” He shared with Changbin as his eyes fell on you and Jeongin. “Ah, you must be Y/n! I’ve heard all about you from Jeongin, I’m Chan!” He greeted you warmly, offering a hand in the same way his friend had at the door as he apologized for the chaotic entrance he had made. “Sorry about that, we just had some troubles in the kitchen.”

- “Don’t worry about it, you guys seem like a fun group.” You smiled earnestly at him, thankful that Jeongin’ friends were being so kind and welcoming towards you already. You had been nervous attending a party at which you only knew one person, but it seemed as if tonight was going to go perfectly well after all.

- At that moment you heard a laugh sound from the kitchen doorway, eyes darting over as your breath was immediately taken from your lungs at the sight in front of you.

- The man the laugh had come from, currently walking out of the kitchen as he laughed with his arm around a slightly taller man, was without exaggeration the most gorgeous person you had ever seen. His joyous smile felt like it shot an arrow straight through your heart as his laugh rang through your ears, the way his eyes sparkled with excitement burning itself into your mind.

- Though you had yet to speak to the man and confirm whether or not he was your fated soulmate, you found yourself desperately hoping that the universe had blessed you with him to spend the rest of your life with. You knew it was a long shot, as there weren’t many people at this gathering and you still had well over an hour until you were set to speak to your soulmate for the first time, but despite your doubts you silently wished that he would turn out to be the person you had waited so long to meet. 

- “Y/n? You okay?” Jeongin’s concerned tone snapped you out of your daze, averting your eyes from the mesmerizing man as your best friend worriedly held on to your arm in an attempt to steady you. “You spaced out, are you uncomfortable? Are you sure you’re okay being here right now and meeting all these new people at once?” He asked earnestly, your best friend’s kindness warming your heart as you smiled and nodded reassuringly at him.

- “I’m okay, Jeongin, don’t worry about me. Sorry, I just got distracted trying to remember if I bought you a gift or not.” You cheekily responded in order to distract him from your flustered expression, hoping he hadn’t noticed the way you had blatantly been eyeing up one of his closest friends. 

- You felt overloaded with sweetness as you brought the drink Jeongin had handed to you moments prior to your lips, clearly some sort of punch mixture with an excessive amount of sugar stirred into it. Despite the drink’s sweet nature you were quite parched, and so you found yourself continuing to take sips from the cup as you made conversation with Jeongin and his friends.

- The three boys you were currently conversing with aside from your best friend had so openly welcomed you into their friend group, truly warming your heart and causing the Christmas spirit of togetherness to settle deep within you as you chatted with them, currently discussing your favorite seasonal treats. 

- “I’m telling you guys, the peppermint mocha is so good, you should just give it a chance!” Jeongin’s friend Hyunjin passionately argued with his friends, insisting that they would enjoy his favorite seasonal drink if they only tried it themselves. 

- “Absolutely not, I can literally get anything else at Starbucks. Why would I choose a mint chocolate drink out of all the options there?” Changbin countered, equally as passionate about the drink debate as you and Jeongin watched and giggled at their argument.

- “Seriously, Hyunjin. I love you, but you have some questionable taste if you think that your best seasonal Starbucks option is a mint chocolate drink.” Chan agreed, visibly grimacing at the mention of the highly controversial flavor combination. 

- “Jeongin’s obsessed with the peppermint mocha too, he gets one practically every time we hang out together.” You decided to contribute to the conversation, Jeongin’s eyes widening at you pulling him straight into the debate as you smirked mischeviously to yourself.

- “Jisung, get over here! I need you to back me up on this!” You heard Hyunjin yell out as he and Jeongin argued their points of mint chocolate being the superior flavor to Changbin and Chan. You had no clue who Jisung was as you had yet to meet anyone with that name over the evening, though the fact that you had met nearly everyone else in the party had you desperately hoping that Jisung was the man you had seen earlier who would hopefully turn out to be your soulmate, heartbeat picking up at the thought. You didn’t even remember to glance at the timer on your wrist as you desperately waited for the man you believed to be your soulmate, not noticing the fact that there were still just under thirty minutes until you were set to speak to your soulmate for the first time.

- “Hey Y/n, can you help me make a new bowl of punch in the kitchen quickly?” Chan’s request snapped you back into reality and out of your soulmate-yearning daze, noticing his furrowed eyebrows and the prominent red stain now covering his white shirt. “This was the last of it, and Hyunjin knocked it over while trying to lean over to argue with Changbin.” Hyunjin didn’t seem phased in the slightest at the accusation, not even sparing the flustered Chan a glance as he continued arguing with his friend.

- “Oh, of course.” You responded, attempting to keep the disappointment out of your voice at having to leave before you got the chance to meet Jisung. You were the only one currently available to help, seeing as the other three friends sitting with you were still engaged in their debate, and you realized after a moment that you still had some time until your first conversation with your soulmate was set to take place, so you reluctantly pulled yourself from the couch and into the kitchen just as you heard another body hit the couch cushions suddenly from behind you.

- Though you had yet to talk to him, you grew more convinced each minute as you assisted Chan with the punch that the mystery man (who you believed to be Jisung) was your soulmate. To you it seemed clear that the universe was purposefully trying to keep you apart until the designated time of your first interaction, a thought which sent butterflies flurrying throughout your stomach as the sweet, fruity smell of the punch made its way to your noise.

- “So, we have about ten minutes until we start our white elephant exchange, you guys excited?” Chan asked the four of you still sitting around him, each of you drinking punch and sharing stories of your favorite Christmas memories now that the peppermint mocha debate had ended. 

- “I’m really excited actually, I’ve never done any sort of gift exchange before.” Jeongin beamed eagerly, warming Chan’s heart at the sight of his youngest friend’s excitement.

- “Me either. I’m just glad you guys decided on white elephant instead of secret santa, if I had gotten assigned to get a gift for anyone but Jeongin I would have had no clue what to do.” You chuckled, thankful that you didn’t have to pick out a gift for any specific person based on the minimal knowledge you had learned about Jeongin’s friends over the years.

- “That’s exactly why we decided on white elephant, Jeongn asked us if you could come along a few weeks ago and we didn’t want you to feel like, isolated or anything, so we just decided to scrap the original secret santa idea we had and go with white elephant instead.” Changbin told you, causing a grin to erupt on your face as you realized how thoughtful the boys had been towards you before even meeting you. “Plus none of us besides Jeongin would have known what to get you either, so we just decided it would be easier and more enjoyable for everyone if we did a white elephant exchange instead.”

- “Yeah, if we had done secret santa you would all be asking me what to get each other, since I was the only common link between the rest of us and Y/n until tonight,” Jeongin brought up, “and I didn’t want to have to deal with all of your questions on top of trying to find my own gift for whoever I got assigned to.”

- “Well it seemed like this worked out well for everyone then. Plus I got to make some new friends tonight, so maybe next year we can do a regular secret santa exchange instead!” You suggested, receiving cheers and encouragement from each of the four boys surrounding you in response.

- “I propose a toast.” Hyunjin raised his glass of punch dramatically into the air as he spoke, sending the five of you into a fit of giggles as he continued. “To our lovely new friend Y/n. I have a feeling we’ll be hanging out a lot more with you from now on.”

- By this point you had almost entirely forgotten the fact that you were set to meet your soulmate in mere minutes, too overjoyed by the friendship these boys were extending to you to notice the way your timer was growing closer and closer to it’s designated time as the other four boys in the friend group came barrelling through the door at once, pointing out the fact that it was now time to begin the white elephant celebration.

- Each of you had placed your gifts under the tree as soon as you had arrived, and you now began to gather around the tree as Chan retrieved the new tray of cookies he had made after banishing Felix and Seungmin from the kitchen and placed the tray on the table behind all of you to offer easy access for anyone craving a snack, refilling everyone’s punch cups as he went.

- Once you had settled into your seat you glanced at your timer, eyes widening nearly immediately as you realized you had less than a minute left until you were set to speak to your soulmate for the first time. You felt your heart rate skyrocket at the sudden realization, scanning all around you to find Jeongin on one side of you and an open spot directly next to you on the opposite side. ‘Whoever sits there has to be my soulmate.’ You determined, reaching beside you to clutch Jeongin’s hand tightly in yours in order to help ground you as you eagerly waited for your soulmate to sit beside you, the seconds ticking by like hours in your desperation.

- You were unable to prevent the wide grin that made its way across your face as you watched the handsome stranger you had been thinking of all evening eagerly take the spot next to you, eyes fluttering back and forth between him and the clock on your wrist as he hit the floor directly next to you.

- 5… He carefully crossed his legs and made himself comfortable on the smooth wooden floor beside the Christmas tree.

- 4… A grin slapped itself across his face, his smile filling you with a giddy feeling even from the side view you were looking from.

- 3… His head began to turn in your direction, adjusting his body to face you as well as he did so.

- 2… You could clearly see the sparkle of excitement in his eyes, the pure joy he felt over Christmas radiating off of him in waves. In that moment all your nerves were suddenly gone, and you could tell without a doubt that you were going to love this man for the rest of your life.

- 1… He opened his mouth just as your timer went off, not even noticing the small beep emitting from each of your timers as he introduced himself.

- “Hi, I’m Jisung! I’ve been hearing about you all night, I’m sorry I haven gotten to introduce myself yet!” He shot a friendly grin at you, brows furrowing in confusion when you simply pointed at his wrist with a lovesick grin in response to his introduction. 

- You watched with pure joy as realization dawned across his face, eyes boring into the timer on his wrist as the zeros on the timer stared back at him with equal intensity. He took a moment to process that he had in fact just met his soulmate, turning to you with his jaw dropped as he pointed a stunned finger in your direction.

- “...It’s you? You’re my soulmate?” He finally spoke, loud enough to catch the attention of the rest of the group as they watched the two of you in awe.

- “The one and only.” You responded, beaming at him and reaching out to tentatively take his hand in your own. “I’ve gotta be honest, I can’t say I’m disappointed. I saw you earlier and I’ve been hoping you’d turn out to be my soulmate practically all night. My name’s Y/n.” You shared with the boy, both of you giggling at your obvious infatuation with your soulmate. 

- “It’s amazing to meet you Y/n. I saw you earlier too, I thought you looked stunning and I was crossing my fingers that you’d turn out to be my soulmate too. I just didn’t think I’d actually be that lucky.” He chuckled in response, the two of you linking your hands together as lovestruck grins bloomed across each of your faces.

- “Oh my god this is so cute, it’s a Christmas miracle!” Felix cooed after a moment of silence, reminding the two of you that the other boys were still in the room and had been watching your entire exchange. You felt your face heat up at the sudden wave of attention as each of them gathered around to congratulate the two of you, endeared at the blush across Jisung’s face as he thanked his closest friends. 

- “I told you your soulmate would be ecstatic once they finally got to meet you.” Jeongin playfully reminded you, nudging your shoulder with his own before reaching over to give you a quick hug. “You two look really adorable together, I’m super happy for both of you.”

- “Thank you, Jeonginnie.” You gratefully responded, returning his hug before glancing to the side at all of your new friends. Chan and Changbin were currently attempting to carry Jisung on their shoulders in order to celebrate him finally meeting his soulmate, the boy in question covering his face as embarrassed giggles petered from his mouth. “Not only did I find my soulmate this Christmas, but I also gained some pretty amazing new friends. This is the most amazing Christmas I’ve ever had, thank you so much for inviting me.”

- “No problem.” Jeongin began gathering his friends around the tree once again, retrieving a hat filled with slips of paper listing numbers from 1-9 as he spoke to you. “I’m happy I was able to help.”

- Once the boys had finally settled down you began your white elephant exchange, Jisung cuddling close to you with an arm around your waist as he passed the first chosen present to Seungmin, who had drawn the number one from the hat. This was the most perfect Christmas you could ever have asked for, you realized as you leaned in to press a kiss to your soulmate’s cheek. You had never felt more joyful in your life up until that moment, and you beamed at the way your life would forever be changed for the better after that night as you all urged Seungmin to open the present he had chosen.
