It's dumb to suggest that someone of that age would never fall in love. Just because he appears careless and selfish and murderous doesn't mean he can't have feelings for someone. Spoiler alert. ;)First of all, “three weeks of his history that we’ve seen out of a thousand years”? Hm. Well. That would be true if I was only a casual The Originals viewer. Granted, there was a lot more history in the flashbacks with Kol on TO, but I digress. I have been following Kol’s story since he first appeared on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. You know, that little show where the Mikaelsons fucking originated? The show that gave you your disgusting excuse for a spinoff? Yeah. Maybe show some appreciation. Even if you have no interest in it, and I don’t blame you because it’s pretty fucking shitty at this point, acknowledge that you wouldn’t have your shit show without the originator.
Anyway, when Kol Mikaelson first appeared in The Vampire Diaries - no, wait. When he was first ALLUDED to, he was what Klaus and Elijah feared almost as much as Mikael. Maybe more. You need evidence?? Okay!
TVD Episode 3x10 - The New Deal. Klaus pulls the dagger out of Kol who is dead in his coffin and threaten Elijah with it.
Elijah: Come on. Use it. I dare you. You’ll have Kol to deal with.And promptly Klaus puts the dagger back into his baby brother because he does NOT want to awaken that beast and you can see it in his eyes.
Now, when Kol does finally appear in the flesh? Klaus is the epitome of afraid. Anon, I give you episode 3x13 - Bringing Out the Dead:

Granted, he knows Kol has a vendetta for being daggered, but so did all of his siblings. But none stirred such a terror in Klaus as Kol. Because (as we’ve seen in The Originals now) Kol has a very violent and reckless history. He has no boundaries, he kills mercilessly and for entertainment. Which was exemplified in The Vampire Diaries countless times. When he killed one of the vampires that the crew were hoping would tell them whose line they were sired from. When he killed an ENTIRE RESTAURANT of vampires? And Jeremy? Yeah, these were all for a purpose, to stop them from whatever stupid mistakes they were about to make because Kol - as reckless as he is - is pretty damn in tune with what’s going on around him. His behaviors are reckless, his thinking is not. He may be impulsive but he makes sure he knows what he’s doing too. But in the end, Kol has fun being a vampire. Fun killing, fun teasing, fun torturing, fun just embracing who and what he is even though no one else does.
Now let’s move on to where I attempt prove it to you. (I say “attempt” because I’m pretty sure I can try and try but you won’t care because I’m just bitter and deluded, right?) Throughout Kol’s arc on the series, he is painted as the devilish little brother who has no decorum and laughs spitefully in the face of rules and regulation, even his own mother’s:
He has no concern for petty human ideals and romances, which is pretty much reinforced by his constant teasing of Rebekah’s crush on Mystic Falls’ own very human quarterback, Matt Donovan. Let’s take a look.
(Hey did you notice “settling for mortals” is frowned upon by Kol? Now you do.)
I mean, yeah Rebekah decided at first she wanted to kill Matt because it would bother Elena, but then he was nice to her and she changed her mind and told Kol to call off the evil plan. Except Kol doesn’t care about kindness. Or his sister’s wishes. Because Kol does what Kol wants and what makes Kol utterly pleased. And Kol goes ahead and breaks the kid’s hand. Too bad his plan was thwarted by his nemesis Damon Salvatore, who by the way, he gets a kick out of tormenting endlessly:

See that grin? He’s happy about beating someone. He enjoys it. He also likes to be a cheeky little shit, mostly towards his family:
So yeah there’s a tiny shred of humanity there but it’s only relevant towards family, and at least TO carried that over. Otherwise, he doesn’t have an ounce of caring for anyone else. Except for himself:

So yes, it’s TOTALLY plausible that this character would be open to love. Especially in such a short time, as you said, three weeks of episodes. Sure, maybe characters develop and that’s all fine and dandy. But at least make their development realistic. And don’t try to forcefeed me some bullshit about them being vampires and nothing can be realistic because at least on TVD characterization and relationships with other characters - romantic or not - were well done. And you know, I wouldn’t be so bothered by your precious Kolvina if it weren’t for the fact that completely sabotaged the entire character that is Kol. He has to be better for her? He has to stop drinking blood from the vein and mend his ways? Yeah fucking right. If you knew Kol from the beginning, you watched his progression and saw how horrible and harsh of a turn they took on YOUR show, you would understand my utter disdain for not only your ship, but your version of what was once a great and (forgiving the phrasing) original character. A vampire that actually LIKES being a vampire? On a show about VAMPIRES?! Oh my god, stop the presses. How could there ever BE such a character? Oh right. There can’t. Not in Plec-land.
By the way, I never said you were a faker. Maybe you took my words as an implication, but that’s on you honeybuns. What I meant in my post - which was labeled an ANTI post, even TAGGED an anti post, but you know go ahead and scrounge around in the anti’s and stir shit. Cause you’re the bigger person, clearly - is that the drabble is for fans of Kol who loved him for what he was and not what he currently is.
