Thats My Girl! Part 2

”thats my girl!” part 2

part 1

pairing: dr house x reader

word count: 1.5k

prompt: house and reader have both stayed late and found themselves, tired and worked up in one way or another, in his office

”You’re in my chair.”

I glanced up from my papers with several pens in my hands, one of them tiredly making notes in the patient’s file, and a last one between my teeth. I couldn’t remember I had put it there, what with it being my twelfth consecutive hour at the hospital, but I dropped it when I had to respond.

“Yes, it does the fun spinny thing,” I said in a joyless tone, staring down at the words that were beginning to not look like words anymore. House waddled up to plant his palm on his desk and blink down at me.

“Well, you can have the chair as long as I get to be in-between you and it.”

I thought House had gone home long ago. Just about everyone else had. The halls and his office were dark and the world outside was pitch black as of nearly five hours ago.

“Mhm,” I hummed nonchalantly and laid the side of my aching head in my palm. Staring at the old medical records and documented symptoms of our patient, I dotted my pen in the margin as I tried to think.

“Hey, spiraling into insanity trying to solve the case is my thing! Get your own shtick!” House snapped in a joking upset voice. I stared down still but was distracted by his hand in front of me and his index finger that mindlessly tapped on the desk, and the veins on the back of his hand and up his forearm.

He was impossible and an asshole and sociopathic on a good day, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t find him attractive. There was something about his intelligence, quick wit and superiority that secretly drew me in. But I refused to give in. I knew I could never forgive my lack of self-respect if I were to cave and sleep with him. The only way to get over it, I had always thought, would be to demystify him by getting on his level.

“When were you planning on going home?” he asked. Had I not known better I would’ve thought I detected concern in his voice. I looked up and studied the sharp shadows on his scruffy face. He himself was apparently planning on going home soon, having stuck his biker jacket on.

“Maybe when the patient dies,” I joked tiredly.

“Hm, well, then you might as well start looking at the next case instead,” House said and shrugged as he reached to the end of his desk for a stack of thin folders. I detected a snarkiness now, which I knew was part of his usual repertoire. It enraged me an unjustified amount and I stood up suddenly, nearly crashing the top of my head into his chin.

“I’m gonna save him,” I argued and pointed my finger into House’s firm chest.

“Hey, sweetheart, you’re the one who said he’s gonna die,” he chuckled and raised his one hand in surrender. “Also, haven’t you ever heard there’s no ‘I’ in ‘team’?” he added in yet another silly tone, tilting his head down at me. We seemed to end up in this position a lot, I reflected. His pale eyes stared down at me in silence and I recognised he was putting two and two together in his head.

“What’s your obsession with being better than me?” he asked bluntly even though he had the answer. “You wanna put yourself above me and knock me off my pedestal, so that you don’t have to idolise and romanticise me anymore. Oh, this must be killing you.”

“Why do you ask questions you already have the answer to?” I countered, ignoring his calling me out. His smirk had grown wide on his lips.

“So that is the answer?”

“I’m going home,” I declared and shoved past him. My brain was fried and I had no witty one-liners left to throw in his face, plus my own face was growing red at his accusations.

“You can just say you wanna sleep with me,” he teased and I saw his arms were open in a conceited manner when I turned around quickly.

“Can you for once talk to me like I’m a human being with a brain and not a piece of meat?” I asked, trying to contain my frustration. He stood in the shade of my body but I could see him narrowing his eyes slightly.

“Please, you look at me like I’m a piece of meat too. I see the way you undress me in your mind all the time. As we all know by now; I’m not stupid,” House said daringly. It drove me crazy that he still wasn’t seeing the point and he was deflecting and refusing to give me an ounce of respect.

“You’re a jerk!” I stated and closed the gap between us, impulsively shoving him by the shoulders and catching his balance off guard. He was forced to step back with his bad leg and hissed in pain, before instinctively grabbing a hold of my arm for support as his back slammed against the wall behind him. I was pulled with him and crashed into his chest and his hand still gripped my arm tightly.

Suddenly I was in his space for real. All those times of staring up at his cocky face and just barely feeling his breath on my nose there apparently had been that last shred of a border between us. I hadn’t ever been aware of it but now it was gone and it was all I could think about. His heart beat against my chest and his breath was undeniably hitting my face and there was nothing holding me back from kissing him.

I enjoyed every time I had the upper hand with him, and now I did as I pressed a frustrated yet confident and harsh kiss against his mouth. He wouldn't ever be able to pull that kiss out of his lips, it was there forever. I realised though that he could give it back. And he did. He shoved his face harsher against mine and kissed me back while tightening his fist around my upper arm and holding me in my place. And a war broke out, both of us fighting to end up on top. Get the last kiss in, leave the most memorable mark, plant the most saliva in the other’s mouth, leave the nastiest sting of one’s teeth in the other’s lip.

My body was working quicker than my brain and before I knew it I was beginning to tear his jacket off. I could only get it half way off his arms before House’s phone rang loudly and startled us both. Pulled out of our cloud of lust, I let go of his jacket and took a step back. House fished the phone out of his pocket with a sigh. I saw Wilson’s name on his screen and he didn’t hesitate to click the call away. I laughed breathily at that and shook my head.

“I think he has cameras in my office. He’s jealous.”

“Of me that is,” I teased and he laughed shortly.

“Who else?” he was quick to joke along and those were the words that stayed hanging in the air as neither of us spoke for the next few, long seconds. House let out a soft sigh as he looked at me and pulled his jacket up to hang off his shoulders again. I stepped back to lean against the desk behind me and my gaze hopped around the room.

“Why do you think you’re on my team?” House asked at last but it was rhetorical. He raised his brows at me to make a point. “Obviously you’re incredibly intelligent and a fantastic doctor.”

He kept sighing as if this was the hardest thing he had ever had to say and it made me chuckle quietly behind my serious face. I looked him in the eye and we nodded at one another silently, both barely smiling. Then his phone rang again and he rolled his eyes as he pulled it out.

“Bright and early, 8 tomorrow!” House joked and pointed at me before he began walking out towards his office door. I laughed, knowing he hadn’t ever showed up at work before 10 am.

“We stopped kissing!” he answered Wilson’s call with mock annoyance. “You know, you’re gonna have to man up and put a ring on it if you want me to stop running around with other people,” he joked and I could practically hear Wilson’s confused sigh on the other end of the line as House disappeared down the hallway and I was left alone again, absentmindedly trailing my fingertips along my bottom lip.

Kinktober Day 2: Edging with James Wilson

Kinktober Day 2: Edging With James Wilson

Warnings: Dom!Wilson, Sub!reader, Fem!Reader, edging, vibrator, pre-established dom/sub relationship, slight public sex

"Please..."

"No." James's voice was firm as he squeezed your hand gently. It was meant to be comforting, but with the vibrator he'd shoved into you before leaving the hotel that morning buzzing against your clit you were in no mood for his comfort.

You were at some medical conference with him, and he had gotten tired of listening to you say how board you were the day before. So, to keep you distracted he made you wear a vibrator all day, on just high enough to make you squirm but not high enough to make you cum.

"James, please. I need-"

"I said, no." He snapped, pinching your hip lightly before walking away to get you both a drink.

You shifted slightly on your feet, trying to find a comfortable stance without making it obvious that something is wrong.

"Y/n!" You turned slightly, seeing Cuddy walking towards you. You gave her a strained smile as she got to you. "Have you seen House anywhere? He's supposed to give a speech later, and I need to give him the que cards-"

You tuned your husband's bosses' voice out when you felt the vibrations go up for the first time all day. You had to dig your nails into your hand to keep from making any noise as you felt yourself quickly approaching a high.

"Y/n, are you okay?" Cuddy pulled your attention back to her with a concerned face. "You look very red."

"I-um. I'm a little warm." You fanned at your face, trying to discreetly squeeze your legs together. Cuddy stepped forward to push the back of her hand to your forehead.

"Did you have a fever today? You feel like your body is trying to break one- oh!"

You felt you knees buckle lightly, and a strong arm wrapped around your waist to stabilize you. "I've got you." Your husbands voice slid into your ear, and you quickly hid you face in his neck.

"Gonna..." You warned, and by a miracle the vibrations turned down. As much as you wanted to cum, you didn't necessarily want to do it in front of your husband's boss.

"I'm going to take her back up to the hotel room." You heard him telling Cuddy before a hand on your back started leading you towards the exit.

Once alone in the elevator, James tilted your head up, pulling you into a kiss. You gripped his shoulders roughly, pulling him closer to your body as you tried to ground yourself.

"Fuck you, James." You mumbled against his lips, making the man frown.

"You should be thankful that I'm taking you up now. I could make you sit through House's speech." He threatened, but you knew it was more bark than bite.

"You wouldn't. He would put together what you did in seconds of seeing me-ahh!" The end of your sentence was cut off by a cry when James upped the vibrations. "Screw you!" James just smiled at your words, stepping away from you as the elevator approached the floor.

"James, I can't walk." You panted, leaning against the wall.

"I believe in you." He promised with a big smile which you responded with a glare.

Just before the door opened you were able to push yourself off the wall and stand up fully. James didn't turn the vibrations down as you walked to the room but did offer his hand to keep yourself steady. Thankfully, no one else was in the hall during the walk, and once in the room you collapsed on the bed.

Your legs were spread slightly as you laid there, still panting from the constant stimulation. James walked over to stand between your legs.

"Keep them spread please."

You babbled something that even you weren't sure what it was meant to be. James spread them just a little more as he pushed the dress you were wearing up and pulled your soaked underwear down.

'You're dripping all over the place, surprised you didn't leave a trail behind you." He pulled the toy out of you, and you let out a loud moan at the feeling of no longer having constant vibrations. But you still wanted to cum.

"Please..." You whimpered, making James lean down and run his hand over your hair.

"What, you want to cum?" You quickly nodded, whimpering before he shushed you. "Too bad. You're still in trouble from yesterday, and I have to go down for the speech. Now stay here, rest up, order some food if you want, I'll be back later. And don't even think about touching yourself, because I will know." A few tears ran down your face as James walked towards the door, leaving you alone in the hotel.

Taehyung didn’t anticipate seeing you tonight, least of all with a date by your side, but he guesses it’ll be okay because it has been over five years since he last saw you and he has moved on. But the air is far from cleared between you both. So when confrontations start to happen, all of the pain from his past he thought he had overcome makes itself known, unwelcome.

note: this fic was meant to be a light-hearted one to contrast the sad trope i was assigned for the fest, and was to be posted in january –  but then it underwent a world of changes (name and genre) and is now a gut-wrenching mess, being delivered five months late. i am so sorry. :|

the biggest thank you goes to my precious soybean @missgeniality for being my life support when i felt lost and had so many doubts abt this fic, and then also betaing it for me later, like a fairy godmother. this literally would not be here without you!!! ily 😭 also, thank you to my naifey bby @opaljm for naming the fic outta the payphone lyrics in, like, 5 seconds!!! ily <333

PS. the past scenes are in italics and written in past tense, but seamlessly blend (without a divider) into the fic’s present narrative, only differentiated by the present tense and non-italicised text, so pay attention to that!

i hope y'all masochists like the way this hurts~ 💜

dedicated ⇝ to ridzietta @taegularities <3 was supposed to be your late b'day present in jan, but guess now it’s just an attempted payback for my broken kidneys. i love you, baby (:

“You’ve got to be kidding me…”

Kim Taehyung peers over the balustrade of the ballroom – past the black and white balloons, lights, streamers and huge chandeliers that cast red and white shadows over the entire hall – with a disappointed frown.

“What?” asks the girl with the letter pad in her hands. “What is it, Mister Kim?”

An accusatory finger shoots up in the air, arm propped parallel to his shoulder as he points at the pair that just entered the hall.

“What guest list is she on?”

The party planner’s wide eyes take in the object of his ire, squinting to get a better look, before she quickly turns back to her tab and makes a few successive clicks.

“Oh! She – she isn’t on one, but—”

“Ha! Knew it! Why would she even—”

“—she’s actually someone’s plus one, Mister Kim.”

Imagine House's reaction to a patient hitting on you.

Imagine House's Reaction To A Patient Hitting On You.

House didn’t typically interact with his patients, but when someone on the team told him that the patient had been hitting on you, he couldn’t help himself. He stood at the edge of the room, as he watched you talk to the patient, and it was made very clear that they were in fact flirting with you.

"Hey, watch it, buddy, that’s my wife you're talking to. I’m the guy who's working on your diagnosis, and I'd just hate to get it wrong," he warned, and that was enough to shut the guy up for good.

You smiled to yourself, knowing there was no way House wouldn’t have said something to him. On your way out, you stopped to give him a kiss on the cheek. "I can handle myself," you quietly said to him, "but it’s good to know you care."

I COULD KISS YOU — GREG HOUSE

I COULD KISS YOU GREG HOUSE

masterlist

pairing: greg house x reader

description: when an offhand comment to praise house for helping you diagnose a patient leads to the silent treatment, you’re both forced to confront the feelings that had been lingering unspoken for too long.

warnings: swearing, angst to a teeny bit of fluff, may be a lil ooc as i’m still iffy on fleshing out how i write the house characters but i’m trying <3

author’s note: had this idea and got excited so bashed it out quite quickly while i was motivated af — hopefully you enjoy !!! let me know what you think

“Gregory House, you bloody genius,” you exclaimed, clenching your fists in excitement, unable to stop the words that came flying out next, “I could kiss you!”

You’d been trying to diagnose your patient for nigh on a week now, and with the young boy’s symptoms rapidly progressing and his condition rapidly worsening, House’s diagnostic expertise provided exactly the breakthrough you needed.

You were ecstatic — mentally piecing together just how he had to be correct — and so without another word you practically skipped out of his office to run some tests and reach the certainty needed to treat the boy as soon as possible.

What House had suggested made perfect sense, accounting for every symptom and every adverse reaction to the treatments you had tried so far, and though you usually mocked his tendency to always smugly assume he was right, at present you were immeasurably grateful for his input.

You were disappointed, then, when you rushed to tell him that the young boy was responding incredibly well to the treatment he suggested and he simply gave you his smug “I-told-you-so” smile and rushed away from you.

He didn’t speak to you again for the rest of the day, choosing instead to actually take time to visit his patients rather than deal with encountering you again.

“What did I do to piss House off?” you asked Cameron, Foreman and Chase shyly as you stood near the nurse’s station with them.

They all just eyed you like the answer was obvious, but Chase shrugged, “When has anyone ever needed to actually do something to piss him off?”

“No, he won’t even talk to me right now,” you frowned, brows furrowed, “It’s weird. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong since this morning.”

The group all looked between eachother, as though deciding who would be the one to have to tell you the honest truth.

“Probably something to do with your little ‘I could kiss you’,” Chase replied, doing a terrible impersonation of you and batting his eyelids flirtatiously as he quoted you, “He didn’t seem to like that very much.”

Your mouth was parted in confusion, “Firstly, I do not sound like that. But secondly, why would he give me the silent treatment for that? Is the idea of kissing me that repulsive?”

Cameron scoffed, rolling her eyes, “You’re both as oblivious as each other, Y/N… He’s ignoring you for literally the opposite reason.”

You shook your head in disbelief.

Was she seriously trying to tell you that House was ignoring you because he didn’t like you joking about kissing him?

“Don’t be ridiculous!”

“It’s literally painfully obvious, Y/N,” Foreman groaned, “You’ve had this weird sexual tension going on forever and given that he’s usually bad at giving a damn about people, he gets weird about you. And he obviously has feelings for you, so it rubbed him up the wrong way.”

Chase chuckled, “They’re right. He’s only mad at you because you’re the only person he’s never mad at but you hurt the feelings he apparently has.”

You pondered what he was saying for a moment, trying to piece together whether there was any semblance of truth behind their explanation for House’s weird behaviour.

Truth be told, it was the exact kind of petty and ill-fitting behaviour you’d expect from House.

For such a brilliant man, he could be utterly childish at times, especially if he wasn’t getting his way.

Your relationship had always teetered on the edge of professionalism — he was always making flirtatious comments, he always took your suggestions on board more than the others, always sung your praises to your peers and superiors.

Whilst everyone else was certain it was proof of his feelings for you, you had just thought he appreciated that you never pried into his life unless he offered to divulge information himself, and you were excellent at your job.

Of course, you couldn’t deny that you enjoyed your ambiguous relationship, given the crush you had harboured since very early on in your acquaintance. That’s why you always flirted back, always made sure your input was carefully though out, and why you were always singing his praises too.

But it was Greg House — a man who so famously behaved as though he didn’t care about anyone. So of course you didn’t think that things would ever progress past your unprofessional professional relationship.

“Where is he?”

“In his office,” Cameron smiled, “He told me to make sure nobody bothered him, and I think he meant you because he’s still throwing his toys out of the pram.”

You rolled your eyes with a laugh, “God, he’s ridiculous. I’m going to go and talk to him. Or try, anyway. Wish me luck.”

“Is this House we’re talking about?” Dr. James Wilson made an appearance at your side now, his brow quirked in curiosity as he butted into the conversation.

You nodded, “He’s being a baby instead of actually talking to me about why he’s mad.”

You hoped he’d have some kind of more concrete explanation, given that he was the only person House was even remotely honest around.

“He’s hardly an expert at talking about his feelings, is he? Or having them, actually,” Wilson chuckled, “But he’s been grumbling all day. Please do go and speak to him. For my sanity’s sake, if not your relationship’s.”

“Slow down, Wilson,” you scoffed, but though you didn’t want to get ahead of yourself, you couldn’t deny the fluttering in your stomach at any sort of reference to you and House’s potential relationship, “I’m going!”

You entered the room without even knocking, folding your arms over your chest with a stern expression on your features as you strode towards his desk and stood firmly in front of him.

“I’m busy.”

“Busy being petty and ignoring me?”

He looked up now, narrowing his eyes as he realised you were not going to meekly scuttle away like you had done every other time he’d dismissed you today.

“What makes you think that?” sarcasm dripped from his words, “I just so enjoy spending time getting to know my patients and doing paperwork!”

You huffed out a sigh, frustrated by him already trying to dodge the subject, “Greg.”

“Y/N.”

“Greg!”

“Y/N!” he matched your tone just to challenge you, and you scoffed, “Are you really going to be like this?”

“Like what?”

“So deliberately evasive?”

His lips drew together in a thin line as he eyed you carefully, “How’s your little boy from this morning?”

“You are so fucking frustrating, Greg,” you scowled, “Can we have an adult conversation here?”

He appeared to ponder over another joke to make, but apparently for the first time in his life thought better, as he remained silent and waited for you to continue.

“I’ve been so stressed out about that kid, and you helped me to help him massively — he’s likely to be discharged by tomorrow. I was so happy, so relieved, and I said I could kiss you,” you began, avoiding his gaze at first until your final sentence, “And it was a silly offhanded comment about how grateful I was, but at the same time I honestly could’ve kissed you because I quite honestly want to a lot of the time.”

Oh my God — you’d stunned the Greg House into silence?

Your breathing was jagged, “I don’t know if you’re just being an ass because you don’t like being on the other end of jokes, or if the team actually aren’t just blind hopeless romantics and you actually care about me. But I just wish you’d talk to me instead of doing all this and making me feel like you don’t care at all.”

He pulled himself up onto his feet, grabbing his cane to lean on as he inched closer to you.

“It’s a bit of both,” his voice was low, and you were sure that if you didn’t know him better you might believe him to be shy about telling you the truth, “I’m not good at caring, and I don’t usually like caring, but I guess I do. Sue me!”

You took another step forward, so that you were so close you were breathing right in each other’s faces.

You were trying to be brave and command the conversation, but your stomach was doing backflips as it dawned on you that what he meant was that he really did feel the same about you.

“Why would you go silent on me then instead of talking to me about it?” you bit your lip as you spoke, and caught notice of how his eyes trailed to your lips as you did so.

He swallowed thickly, “Didn’t feel right to. Hardly professional, is it?”

“Oh, because you’re the picture of professionalism usually aren’t you?” you laughed dryly.

“Point taken,” he shrugged, “Maybe I was little scared. And we’ve got a good thing going, it’s a risk pushing things any further.”

You weren’t happy with that, not when this was Greg House — king of taking risks and breaking rules — and you were certain that it was a risk worth taking anyway.

“When has risk ever stopped you?” you asked, whispering now as your eyes darted between his and his lips whilst he mirrored your behaviour.

“Point also taken,” he mumbled, before finally taking the plunge and bringing his lips to yours in a heated kiss that you leaned into immediately.

He quickly leaned back to sit on the edge of his desk, his hands finding your waist as he pulled you to stand between his parted legs.

You pulled back, suddenly aware that anyone could come in at this moment and see you — and whilst the biggest risk here really was endless teasing from the team or a scolding from Cuddy, you did still have some things to discuss too.

You didn’t want to ruin the moment, overcome with giddiness at what had just happened, but you wanted to make your feelings clear; Even if it was to a man who would probably make a jokey remark and underplay his own feelings.

“I don’t know your relationship history, and I don’t care to,” you shrugged, moving your hands to your hips but hardly moving away from him, “Well, I’m not rushing to. I can assume it’s not great, but I just want to take every day as it comes and see where things go because mine isn’t great either. I’m not gonna hurt you, Greg.”

The sincerity in his eyes as he gazed up at you made your heart melt, and you could tell that somehow, some way, you had gotten through to him.

“Don’t make promises you can’t be certain that you’ll keep, Y/N,” he mumbled, before shaking off his own words and standing back up to stare into your eyes intently, “But fine. Because it’s you, I’m willing to try. Provided there’s more of this,” he kissed you again before continuing, “And less of them ogling and concocting their little romantic stories about the lovely doctor Y/N and her damaged old fool.”

You turned around to see the entire team peering through the window, all smiles and whispered chatter at the sight before them.

You raised your middle finger to them, turning back to look at House and stepping back a little from him.

“Unfortunately, those nosey fuckers are not going anywhere,” you rolled your eyes, “If you’re willing to try then we’re going for dinner. Tonight. And we’re going to have a good time, and not talk about this place or about anything you don’t want to.”

He nodded, “I’ll pretend I’m not furious you’ve robbed me of making the grand romantic gesture of being the one to ask,” he cocked his head as he joked, truthfully very much pleased you were the one to ask and confirm that your interest in him was genuine, “But sounds good to me. I’ll wear my nicest tux, eh.”

“Yeah, yeah, ha ha,” you hummed, “Now I’ve got a living patient to go and visit thanks to you. Enjoy your afternoon with that lot,” you gestured to your friends, who were all still stood there watching you, “Good luck. Oh, and pick somewhere to book for us to eat. That can be your grand romantic gesture, hm.”

“Gee, thanks,” he laughed, shaking his head, “I’ll see you later.”

“See you later,” you grinned, swanning out of his office with the biggest smile possible painting your features.

You nudged past your friends as they watched you walk down the corridor, happier than they had probably ever seen you in the time that you’d known them.

They immediately filed into House’s office when you were out of sight, and his head fell back in irritation for a moment despite the smile still gracing his lips.

“Things went well, then?”

“Go away,” he replied, “I’m in a good mood for once, and you idiots aren’t going to ruin that, alright?”

“Woah, okay,” Foreman laughed, “Who are you and what has Y/N done with Greg House?”

Robert chase x female reader.

Based on season 3

Chase started to fall in love with his co-worker Y/n but she can’t see him in that way, or that’s what she said. But the truth is that she likes chase as well.

Chase starts to get a little jealous like he did in episode 19 of season 3.

They finally get together and chase couldn’t be happier.

Since Y/n and chase started to work with each other she didn’t like him because she thought he was an idiot who didn’t care about anyone then himself. But chase changed himself for y/n.

Change

Pairing: Robert Chase x Fem!Reader

Universe: House Md

Summary: hiding feelings for your co-worker was never a good idea, on either end. But when he’s fed up after witnessing you be too close with a co-worker: Chase will do anything in his power to show you he’s serious about his possible chance at a relationship with you

Warnings: medical talk, Greg House being Greg House, jealous Robert Chase, slight angst and arguing

Notes: another Chase request; you’re on a role. I did make it so Chase is jealous of reader’s FRIENDSHIP with Wilson; the whole Chase being jealous of a kid was on par for his character but I don’t wanna write that so. This one was definitely shorter than On Your Side, lowkey hummed about that.

Robert Chase X Female Reader.

“I see you were with Wilson last night,” Robert Chase pointed out as the two of you walked alongside one another into the locker room for the morning. You raised a brow, caught off guard by his sudden choice of words.

“Why does it matter what I was doing with my friend?” You asked him accusingly.

“It’s just ironic that you’ll grab a drink with him but not me,”

“I never said I wouldn’t get a drink with you,” You informed him. You stopped and faced him full on, a look of disbelieve on your face, “But I know you want something more from that and I can’t ruin our friendship. I went with Wilson because we’re friends. Like we have been since I started working here.”

You didn’t bother putting your things in the Locke room, and decided you’d take everything to Wilson’s office to save you the haste of listening to House complain all day. You were grateful that Wilson wasn’t in his office, and just set your things on the sofa and walked back out to go to House’s office.

You would be lying if you said you didn’t understand where Chase’s feelings for you came from. And you would also be lying if you said you didn’t share those feelings. But he was impulsive, and sometimes selfish — you didn’t like that.

Chase walked in with Foreman close behind. Foreman instantly didn’t want to be at work as soon as he could sense the hostility between you and Chase, and sat as far away from you as he possibly could. Foreman had always seen the butt end of these arguments that you and Chase had gotten into recently, and House only fed into them.

The case was pretty open close once House and Cameron walked in; House gave you all tasks and went on his way while you all went through all of the work. You sat in the patient’s room with Chase, asking her any questions that she could answer to see if you could get any general ideas as to what could have put her in the hospital.

The information you got wasn’t a lot, but you took what you could and the team gathered together to bounce ideas off of one another. House didn’t shut down each idea that came his way; challenging everyone to find a bigger and better idea.

Safe to say that the case went the same as every other. House avoided much of his job, this included clinic duties that Cuddy got after him to do. You packed up your things from Wilson’s office, and he got you to agree to let him walk you to your car.

“So what provoked you to stash your things in my office?” He inquired, pulling on his coat and joining you in the hall.

You watched James close his office door and lock it. You sighed, shaking your head, “Robert and I got into an argument.”

James raised a brow, not bothering to ask for more information. Nodding you continued, “He’s upset that I keep turning him down…but it’s so hard to say no to him every single time.”

You sighed, not noticing that Chase was talking to Cameron in the hall as you shook your head, “He can be selfish. Impulsive…and extremely idiotic. And I don’t know if I’d be able to handle that in a relationship.”

Chase watched you walk past him, James listening to you intently as the both of you didn’t notice his presence. His brows knit together and he lost track of his thoughts as he looked at Allison.

“I’d say they’re arguing about House, but she would never date him,” the brunette made a look of disgust before she chuckled and turned to walk away.

“Cameron, wait,” Chase called out, she faced him again. She looked confused, “I think I need your help with something.”

You had just finished a shower when you heard a knock at the door. Ensuring you looked presentable, you walked to the door and pulled it open. Robert Chase stood smiling down at you, a bouquet of flowers [whatever flowers you wish] in one hand and takeout in the other.

“It’s almost nine o’clock,” You told him, an amused look crossing your face while he shrugged.

“I overheard your conversation with Wilson,” he admitted. This caught you off guard, as the Robert you knew would frequently keep something like this from you for as long as possible, “And I want to say that I hate that you feel that way about me. But for you? I’d be willing to fix that.”

You shook your head, “No, Robert —“

“Y/n, I love you,” he interrupted almost immediately, taking a step toward you and setting the takeout bag on the floor. He shook his head as he looked down at you, “And I don’t want to go without attempting a relationship with you when you feel as if I’m selfish—“

“You are,” You interrupted with a grin.

He shook his head, ignoring you, “Impulsive—“

“Which you are,” you insisted.

“And an idiot,” You made a face, and he sighed, whispering, “You can have that one.”

“I have all of them,” You muttered.

“Please,” he pleaded, taking your hand, “Just give this one chance. Give us…better yet me a chance.”

You smiled up at Robert, knowing it was hard to refuse him when he was being oh so sweet — and surprisingly thinking with his head.

“Of course I will,” you told him, reaching you to wrap an arm around his neck and pulling him down to you. He chuckled as your lips interlocked, a brief kiss being shared before you pulled away, “Let’s get you out of this hallway.”

The next morning, you walked into work with Robert instead of James. You enjoyed each other’s company as you walked into the locker room and changed for the day, deciding on possible things to do after work.

Before you could depart to start on task for the day, you grabbed Robert’s hand to give it a quick squeeze, and then planted a kiss on his cheek.

“Don’t be stupid,”

He chuckled and watched you walk away, maybe you were right, but he wouldn’t let you get away with thinking so.
