being aware of the impact of things we can often not think about (like straws) is important if we’re to make strides on environmental preservation

that does not eclipse the importance of being aware of how it impacts disabled people. they’re both conversations we need to have

"Who's afraid of modern art?" By Jacob Geller

Fascism vs modern art: and why you should support your local modern artist
HISTORY OF MODERN ART: Around the late 19th and early 20th century, modern art began to emerge. Modern art was a way to experiment with creating art. It had a much different approach from traditional art, usually incorporating surrealism, and represented how the artist felt about the changing world.
WHAT DOES FASCISM HAVE TO DO WITH MODERN ART? To fascists, art isn't supposed to be something you create to express yourself, but rather another product to be bought and sold. when art is one of a kind and depicts disdain for a fascist world, it's no longer profitable in their eyes.
a good modern art piece tells a story and conveys an emotion.
Take "Portrait of Ross" for example (picture of "Portrait of Ross", a pile of candy in the corner of a room)
The piece was made by Félix González-Torres. It represents the physical form of his lover, Ross Laycock, and its deterioration over time after he contracted AIDS. "Portrait of Ross" conveys how Félix most likely felt about how the world treated gay men during the AIDS crisis. and not to mention the story it tells.
A fascist may hate this piece for a few reasons it's experimental and doesn't follow the
"rules" of art. It could be considered "gay propaganda". IT CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR SOLD.
And while this is just one example, fascists hate any and all art that goes against their views on art and how it should be.
"So am I a fascist for hating modern art?" No! (not necessarily, anyways). You're allowed to have your own opinions, but at the end of the day, it is a fascist way to view art when you say '''t's not real art!", so do with that what you will.

FASCISM VS MODERN ART: and why you should support your local modern artist

i’ve noticed a lot of hate for modern art on certain parts of the internet, so i made this as a way to inform people on why hating modern art of the simple reason of “it’s not real art” is bad. I hope you enjoyed this.

I have an idea for how to have battle Mechs in a realistic sci-fi setting!!!

They are ceremonial

Since Mechs are really cool but kinda impractical....have that been the point. "we are so powerful that we can go out of our way to make war machines that are slightly worse but way cooler and still win" it's intimidating and inspiring to see giant walking humanoid robots on the battlefield, but mostly they are used for propaganda rather than actual combat....

Bring them in once the day is already almost won to Finnish up the battle and claim that the Mechs were the thing that brought final victory. Then have your photo shoot and make lots of posters for all your citizens to look at and go "wow that's so cool. I sure am glad my tax money is being wasted on this instead of going to something practical or beneficial to society"
