It had only been two years, but Freminet had already undergone a massive transformation. Going from 2300+ pounds, he now weighed over 6500.

He was gaining weight very fast, way faster than most Fontainians, and he felt completely helpless about it. He just wanted to gorge nonstop, eat his feelings, sate his hunger, all at once, and it was showing on his bloated body.

He's putting on an average of 7 pounds a day, growing heavier and more fatigued each passing morning. But what truly hit him the hardest was how much of a disaster he looked next to his older siblings. They only put on around 5 pounds during all that time, while he packed on two entire tons of fat on him. It was almost comical watching the three stand next to each other.

The stress and embarrassment of getting so massive so quickly made him hide in his bedroom even more, only wanting to spend hours and hours eating and eating.

Lyney tries to comfort him, telling him it's completely normal for him to be this size. After all, an "entire quarter of the nation!" is still much heavier than him, but Freminet remembers when he was told that at least "half of the nation!" was still much heavier than him, making him worry just more at how massive he is getting.

Even if Freminet wants to deny it, he has long gone past the point of no return, and he's heading into the complete immobilization territory at such a high speed.

Is the Genshin AU destined to have the same fate as the Cookie Run AU? More and more people becoming massive landscapes?

The Butter Epidemic cookie run au story was about every single male cookie becoming ginormous blobs at the same time through only the span of a couple years, this Genshin AU is moreso centered around the different nations of Teyvat (the continent Genshin takes place in) and how each one deals with obesity differently, with most of the fat stuff happening in Monsdadt and especially Fontaine, where the average man weighs over 900 pounds.

But its true that as time passes by the average weight of Fontainians increases as well, and some years in the future the average weight will be 1000 pounds, and so on, just much slower and realistic than the epidemic that took over the cookie run kingdom. Hope that cleared things up!

Regarding Fontaine in the Obesity AU, I’m not sure it’s been asked before, but how do you think the culture/expectation of weight gain in Fontaine began? Was it something that just had to become accepted over time or was it almost encouraged like Mondstat and their insistence on freedom? Hi! It was kind of a process which took hundreds of years to get to this point.

I argued that Fontaine was always ahead in terms of technological advancements, as well as settling in a region without any real threats (unlike the dangerous thundering mountains of Inazuma or the vast desert and populated rainforest of Sumeru). The capital is surrounded by huge, secure walls and humans no longer find themselves having to do much hard labor in their lives.

All of that slowly but surely started affecting people's waistlines, and as people found more free time, they began to become more prone to indulge further, and food started to play a huge part of their culture and history.

As decades went by, overconsumption of food became more and more normalized, especially with nations like Liyue finding an opportunity to make a lot of money and beginning to assemble special lines of commerce to export food over there.

Through the centuries, Fontainian bodies were also able to slowly start adapting to the sheer weight they were carrying, now being able to carry themselves much better than other nation's people. After all, a 1000 pound Sumerian would struggle to even leave his own bed, but the half ton mark is usually just the minimum weight for the large majority of Fontainians.

Also, Fontainian bodies have adapted in a way where putting on fat is extremely easy, and moderation is required in order not to end up completely swallowed by a sea of fat, something hard to achieve in a hedonistic nation like this one. Losing weight is often also never an option, their bodies have developed in a way where shedding even a single pound is practically impossible unless they've been born with a lightning-quick metabolism. This means once they slipping up in terms of weight gain is a permanent action with no way of going back

(sorry this is from my main, I don't think I can send asks from side blogs on mobile) I was surprised to see Venti so high on the obesity scale you posted yesterday, he's one of the only characters I really know much about because I got stuck super hard after the Monstadt chapter of the story. Is it because he's one of the Archons? I'd love to hear more about his life in the AU!

Yeah, Venti would be like huuge in the AU!

It is quite similar to what happened to Neuvillette but on a much lesser scale (neuvi is straight up just an irrecognizable mountain of pale flesh and the heaviest living thing in all of Teyvat lolz), beings who have lived for hundreds of years and have continuously been gaining weight year after year, easily leading Venti into the two-ton territory.

Venti would've gotten much huger if he was the archon of Fontaine, for sure, but Mondstadt is still the second heaviest region behind it, and as the god of "freedom" it doesn't come to me as a surprise that he would allow himself to get massive, especially since in his nation food and beverage is a constant indulgence for everyone, even if not near as extreme as in Fontaine.

I like to think he'd be pretty hefty in a modern setting

Seeing that gaming is essentially a Fontaine sized individual living in one of the slimmer regions, that being Liyue, does he struggle with that at all? Im assuming Liyue is probably not built for people his size, especially not the same way Fontaine is

Oh yeah, he sort of sticks like a sore thumb around other Liyueans.

His obesity came by once his mother passed away and he found consolation in food, and ever since then he's just been getting fatter and fatter, fully letting his appetite control him.

He has gotten over his mother's death by now, but he's become like... extremely obese as a result of all that eating through the years, and his weight gain hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. If anything, he just seems to keep eating more and more. He has lost complete control, something he doesn't like to think about.

A big part of his weight is going to his thighs, now being so big the fat forces him into such an open-legged pose when standing. When he walks his waddling is so prominent from all the lard on his legs, he almost looks like a penguin when he moves, not to mention how Liyuean fashion doesn't accommodate for people his size, so he's forced to wear basic clothes that barely fit and just expose so much of his swollen fat.

Ga Ming still manages to show as much optimism and energy as he can, though, and not everyone shuns him for his size. Most people just feel concern for the young man, really, watching as he just seems to keep getting heavier each passing day, worried that some sweet guy from their town might grow to the size of those Fontainian mountains of sweaty lard. I guess it's fair they don't want to see Ga Ming get to a point where he's sinking into his own flesh... But everything points to him heading into that direction.
