YESYESYES YOU HAVE ENCAPSULATED EVERYTHING SO PERFECTLY!!! I feel like it's such a cool contrast to see this unclean man go from dirty and dingy to, when given the privilege, as clean as hand sanitizer and doing everything in his power to stay that way.

Also, Salad being a hoarder is so sad when you know the context. Even if Firth's never confirmed this or if he'll ever be bothered to delve into Salad's backstory (which, lets face it, he probably wont for a long time), i like to think he's come from absolute nothing!!! NILL ‼️‼️‼️ He grew up in filth, tried to crawl himself out of it, and only ended up in more filth the moment his family found out and chucked him out. He's stingy with money, food, resources and all that crap, which causes cupboards to become overstuffed and things going out of date.

And, in my little AU this hypothetical situation of Salad being rescued actually happens and he does manage to get out, now living quite a lavish and sunny lifestyle—something that was once completely foreign to him!!! it makes total sense that despite now waking up in fluffy and clean bedsheets with a warm person next to him to snuggle into, he can never get out of that poverty stricken mindset no matter how hard he tries. he's always thinking "oh my goddd if I eat this sandwich then we'll have less ham and less cheese and less bread than if I weren't to eat it which means we'll have to spend more money which means whatever money we spent to replace the food we won't have for bills which means we won't have enough to pay for water bills and electricity and then as Kenneth's trying to pay those he'll fall behind on rent and then we'll get kicked out and it'll be like I'm back at home——"

In these cases, it completely slips his mind that money is literally their last problem.

ALSO!!! never apologise for rambling because I love to hear EVERYTHING and ANYTHING aslong as it regards salad fingers!!! I feel like I've twisted things a little but thats all apart of the fun 😋

do you think salad, if he had a choice, would care abt hygiene? because I hc him as a bit of a clean freak but due to the living conditions he was raised in and the baren wasteland he's been forced (in my opinion) to endure he's had no idea what it feels like to be truly clean. his mindset is more "to be as less dirty as possible" than "to be as clean as possible"

also I wanna mention that my ver of Jeremy Fisher has a scar on his eye because the puppet has the same thing. but I only just realised I put it in the completely wrong place.
