my personal look at names is a rather traditional one (i guess), but that's just my take: most people don't name themselves, they get their name from their parents. it is meant/supposed to be a gesture of love from the people who raised you.
so option nr. 1 is asking your parents. imo this also shows that you love/appreciate/honor them despite "rejecting" your birth name. maybe your parents thought of another name for you before you were born. if not, consider asking them to give you suggestions for a name.
now, i understand that this isn't possible for everyone, because some people might have a terrible relationship with their parents (e.g. due to transphobia) or their parents are dead or whatever. there are other options:
- take the genderswapped version of your birth name (in your case just your birth name ig)
- and imo the best alternative: ask someone else who loves and cherishes you. bonus points if it's a relative or someone who watched you grow up.
as i said, this is just my personal take and there aren't actually any rules to naming yourself. i just kind of like this traditional touch to it. in the end, if your loved ones give you a name you find absolutely awful, it would probably be better if you pick one yourself. you have to be comfortable with your name, after all.
hi tumblr (or just whoever manages to find this) i was hoping for some transmasc name change advice?
so ive been thinking about my name a lot recently. i have a pretty masculine given name (ryan) but ive been thinking about possibly changing it? and i feel like i dont really need to change my name since its already masculine, but a lot of the time when im referred to as ryan, it just doesn’t feel right. and i was hoping for some advice maybe? thank you guys so much 😭😭

your hate game could be better, anon. it's a pretty good light-to-medium level insult, but don't be afraid to post more unique and devastating insults. i believe in you, anon!

I recently found out that if you apply the rhethoric of "(she was) asking for it" to other things it quickly becomes unhinged and inhumane (who would have thought, huh?))
"yeah, it's really sad that he died in a workplace accident, but, i mean, he was kinda asking for it. he could've picked a less dangerous job, so he's at least partially at fault here, idk."
job application but instead of being authentic i'm constantly trying to figure out how to present myself in a way that will make them stereotype me as "potential candidate for the job", and yeah, i guess that's how it works for everyone, but still, i'm soo nervous wohfwkfslvcjs
my fanfic author curse (not the one where bad things happen) is that I have the strong urge to make fanfics canon-compliant or "realistic", so every thing that diverts from canon is on purpose. but that also means when i wanna write a silly antman ff about hank pym, i can't until i've rewarched all movies with him in it.
do u guys play minecraft
