"you just might." sunghoon smiles back but his eyes telling a different story.

the two of you walked out the venue and you grab your hand from sunghoon, "hoon, what was that back there?"

"that random surge of competitiveness?" you ask scoffing.

"i didn't like the way he was looking at you y/n, and the jokes you two made-"

"so you were jealous?" you ask tilting your head condescendingly.

sunghoon scoffs, "i just don't like seeing other guys interact with what's mine." sunghoon pulls you in by the waist, his eyes challenging yours, "and you're mine." he whispers before placing a kiss on your lips, then your neck. "now let's go home." he says opening the passenger door of his car letting you in.

picking at the couch absentmindedly, you stifled a yawn, halfway listening to jeno’s rant about yangyang’s carelessness when it comes to laundry, a slight smile on your face at his own hypocrisy.

“so, what are you up to?” he asked, his tangent of the day seemingly done with, as yangyang’s voice in the background became clearer through the silence.

“just—“ you wavered, taking a look towards the kitchen at mark’s sandwich-making, his tongue pressed to his cheek in focus. “hanging with the bro.”

“ah, the bro—“ jeno responded, the amusement in his voice clear.

“dude, i’m your boyfriend.” mark corrected, giving you an unimpressed look from behind the countertop.

at that you only rolled your eyes, putting a finger to your lips before going back to your phone conversation.

a/n: hello everyone ! this certainly has been really long hiatus but i’m back in business with something small to kickstart my return <3 please enjoy 

wonwoo was not expressive when showing his love in any way. 

did that mean he loved you any less? no. 

he quietly loved you with all of his heart, over and over again. he memorized all of your features, your little quirks. he penned down the moments you made his heart flutter, wrote poems about your never-ending affection. 

here he was, patiently waiting for you to get ready for the date he had planned. “look at my fit!” (a/n: yes, i’m referencing this off dino, true blue carats yall know what’s up.) 

you burst out of the toilet, eyes seeking wonwoo’s affirmation, body never seeming to be stationary as you twirled around for him to see. 

wonwoo lifted his gaze from his phone, the corners of his lips curving upwards into that beautiful smile you knew by heart. he sat up straighter on the bed, scooting over to the edge of the bed, “you’re absolutely lovely, my dear.” 

not a second later you backtracked into the toilet, before frowning at your reflection and wonwoo mirrored your expression. “do you think it looks good? like does it suit me or should I change out?” 

“i love how it fits you. you shouldn't need to conform yourself to fit anything you wish to wear.” 

(wonwoo always knew what to say to combat your insecurities. he was practically your knight in shining armor, fending off any negative thoughts about yourself.) 

“look at me.” you spun around, turning face to face with wonwoo who had his phone out, his fingers strategically placed on his screen to take a picture.

his tell-tale grin gave it away and he pocketed his phone, pausing to wholeheartedly speak, “i love you. come here my love.”

Fuck, you should have worn a coat.

The city breeze at night is freezing on your bare arms and slightly exposed shoulders and, even though only a thin sliver of your ankles is visible between the top of your shoes and the bottom of your jeans, you legs are stiff with cold.

You've been ignoring it as best you can because the city is beautiful. The team's behaving for once--an impressive feat since the entire men's national team is out together--and you're having fun. The last thing you want to do is abandon the evening but as another shiver spasms down your back you might have you.

Your arms are wrapped around yourself.

Your shoulders are hunched.

You swear every inch of skin is prickled with goosebumps.

"Okay guys," the waver in your voice drawing everyone's attention at once, "I'm gonna head home."

"What?"

"No!"

"Ya can't leave us now," Atsumu whines. "We haven't even made it ta tha lounge yet."

"I know," you lament, "but I'm freezing and forgot--"

No less than three jackets, a sports coat, and a sweater are offered before you finish, a testament to the generous, considerate athletes on your team which makes it so much more awkward when you're forced to refuse.

It's not that you're ungrateful.

You appreciate these men and their generosity more than you can say and it's not that you're averse to wearing something that belongs to any of them specifically it's just

the materials.

You're particular about what you wear.

It's not easy to explain how the slip and slide of something makes your skin crawl. Or how the sound of certain fabric rubbing against itself makes you nauseous or how sometimes you can feel every fizzle of static gradually building up until you can't move without the clothing sticking to you.

So how do you explain this without seeming arrogant or hurting someone's feelings?

Before you can panic any further there's a flump and something drops on your head.

Confused and wary you lift it up to see "Tobio?"

"It's 100% cotton." His stare is flat. Unjudging. "That's the only thing you wear, right?"

"How do you...know that..." Your brow dips.

"Your Adlers gear was always a different material than ours." Kageyama shrugs. "Hirugami said it was because you had sensory issues."

Everyone else is blocked by his hoodie still draped over your head so you're not self-conscious about the flattered smile you give him.

The small tilt of his own smile in return makes your heart flutter.

"Come on," he says gesturing to the group that's started to walk away. "Now you can stay out with us."

"Yeah." You're still smiling when you put his hoodie on and try not to make it too obvious how much you enjoy everything about it.

The warmth.

The smell.

The size and material.

The fact that he dressed more casually than everyone else

just so he could give you his sweatshirt.
