Prompt 8: “You make me smile every day.”

I'm pretty sure your first date was more traditional, like a dinner date, and the second one was just a little more specific. Maybe you made a hint, intentionally or not, that you like flowers, so he asked you out again, and this time, you went to a botanical garden and it was afgkdskk PERFECT.

And because of that, both of you thought it would be a good idea to go hiking for the next one. It was nothing too serious: a hill area with a big, peaceful forest, only a one-hour bus trip from the city.

It was your task to pack up some lunch for the hike, and although he only expected some nicely wrapped sandwiches, you decided to make a big bento box as a surprise, so you can eat it together.

The bus ride was cute itself, he let you sit next to the window, and you just had nice chat about everything that came to your mind. It was always easy to talk to him once you broke the ice (haha), and Shoto loved listening to you, whether you talk about important things in your life, or just about the weather.

You were mostly alone on the trails, and that made Shoto a little bit easier to ease up, and after some time, he just wrapped his fingers around yours, and your heart melted that he really initiated handholding. He was still a little timid and stiff sometimes, but after you got closer to each other, Shoto always tried his best to show his affection towards you.

Let's be honest, as much as I think that Shoto likes nature and would be more than happy to take a trip outside - I think he was more interested in you the whole time.

"Shoto, look, a rabbit!"

"Mm-hm, cute", he said, still smiling at you.

"You're not even looking!"

"I do."

Aaaand, that got you flustered, and he was not even trying to be flirty, it was just an unintentional slip. (what will happen when he will try to flirt for real???)

The day went on as you reached a river by noon, and the two of you found a perfect spot to have a little rest and eat something. You were really excited, and Shoto noticed that, but he had no idea that you had some kind of surprise for him.

When you took the box out of the bag with an enthusiastic smile, he froze for a few seconds. He just stared at the box in disbelief. You even started to feel bad like

He doesn't like it maybe?? You thought with everything he mentioned liking, but maybe you put something in it that was unpleasant for him?? It was the broccoli, doesn't it...?

But then you saw the biggest smile on his face as he puts the box down to the blanket you spread on the grass beforehand.

"Thank you, y/n" He took your hand into his, still looking at you with gentle eyes, with that big, happy smile on his face.

"I love it when you smile."

"Well, you make me smile every day."

He leaned closer slowly, and as you both closed your eyes, you felt his lips pushing against yours.

That was the first kiss you two shared, and it was magical.

You snuggled together, eating and chatting about everything and anything, the river and the birds are constantly singing together.

It was not a question that there will be a fourth date, and many after that.

Being in a relationship with this man - it's hard.

If you just see him, as Keigo, he is an awesome partner. He is affectionate, supportive, he wouldn't shy away from PDA, he would shower you with gifts and little souvenirs that reminded him of you. He is an amazing, always curious, and very much active lover.

But, with his line of work, dating Hawks is actually really challenging.

He loves you with all his heart and tries his best to make you happy and spend as much time with you as he possibly could.

And many other times, he has to go on long missions, far away from you.

This time was no different, he left you with dozens of kisses and the usual promises about being with you and taking you out for dinner when he finally gets back to you. He always makes those promises true, so you don't worry about that, but... It always feels so bad when he has to leave for so long. Even a few days without him feels like forever.

And it's the same for him. Hawks loves being with you, even if it's just the two of you in your shared residence, doing nothing just talking. He just wants to be with you.

So, when he is away, he always finds a way to keep in contact with you. He calls you every day, texting is a must, with occasional sexting if you are up for that, videocalls, selfies, he does it all.

On this particular night, he only had a few minutes, but he wanted to call you. You were just preparing to go to bed, it was already almost 11pm, and you had work to do the next day.

You heard your phone ringing, and you immediately threw away everything to rush to the bedroom. You pick up the phone and...

"Hi, babybird~"

His voice makes your heart race, and you are not afraid to tell him how much you miss him.

He returns the favor, and reassures you that he is safe, and he will be home as soon as possible. Then you talk a little about his day, he tells you every non-confidential information he can share to you, mostly rambling about Endeavor being too stiff and serious all the time.

Then, after two seconds of silence, he speaks again, now with the softest, kindest voice he could ever pull off.

"I can’t wait to be with you again, dove."

You felt your heart stop. It was the exact same thing you both had on your mind ever since he walked out of the door, and this feeling only grew with every second.

Maybe you already saw, but I started to finish up your requests, I already posted four. I didn't delete any of them, although my box is closed right now, and two of those arrived after that. Please, pay attention to this before you send in a request!

For Zuko, finding a special someone he can trust and love, it's not really a quest to find anyone who would be willing to share their life with him. He needs someone he can connect to on a deeper level, this is one of those rare cases when he is more idealistic about something. He needs that special bond, something that's pure and real. That being said, he has a hard time finding that special someone.

Well, had, because finally, you are in his life now.

No matter how did you end up together, he took his time to get to know you, even if there was an obvious attraction between you two. He doesn't need to know every little detail about you before getting into the relationship ships, there's some stuff he would prefer to find out about you while you're dating. But he needs to know where you stand: what motivates you? What makes you happy? How well can you understand each other? Is it hard to talk to you? Will you accept him with his past?

Zuko knows relationships are not just fairytales, they had their challenges, and no one is perfect, including him, and he is not afraid to put effort into it if he thinks he found the one.

He will accept you as you are, but would be more than happy to help you grow and achieve your goals.

He is really supportive. He has his slight mood swings sometimes, and with that, it is not easy for him to be affectionate in every situation, but Zuko is not afraid to express his love to you. He does this with little gestures and touches, like helping you with your daily tasks and just giving you hugs and squeezing your hand when you need him.

He is not against PDA, but mostly he will just hold your hands around others, not just because he loves it, but he is a bit possessive and can be very jealous, so everyone needs to see that you are HIS s/o.

He gets really snappy and sassy when he is jealous, be patient with him and try to reassure him that you wouldn't just leave him for someone else, that will make calm him faster, and he will apologize for being snarky.

But other than that, he tries his best to not get into any arguments. He is very stubborn and devoted to his own ideas and beliefs, so there would be definitely some tension if you are very much different than him, but that doesn't mean it would be a deal-breaker. Zuko will do everything to get to know you better, and once he does, he will know exactly which buttons he should and shouldn't push.

But because of that, it can happen that he will keep his problems about the relationship for himself, trying to avoid conflict, and that's sometimes can cause some issues, be persistent but understanding if you might know that he is hiding something like that.

You need to remind him that he can open up to you and that you are there for him, no matter what.

When it's just the two of you, he is more affectionate and touchy.

Zuko loves cuddles, especially when you two are on a date or it's just the end of a long day. He doesn't mind the position: being the big or the small spoon, you sitting in his lap, laying down and putting his head onto your lap, or just sit between his leg while he embraces you from behind. He loves it all and would be just generally happy to have some physical contact with you.

His daily kisses are usually short pecks, or slow, long makeout sessions, and honestly, he prefers the latter. He likes taking his time and exploring your sweet spots with little touches here and there.

But he can very passionate, especially when he is jealous, or when you are teasing him enough~
