A lil bit of both
I hc having sharp teeth, (even if its not canon) because I have a lot of hc about Irkens being a very aggressive, almost predatory before the implication of technology and Paks. Territory obsessed bastards that would tear each other apart in the past. Now they’re just a genocidal race hellbent on conquering every ‘inferior’ alien race out there and taking their planets. Not really an improvement, but yeah.
I know their diet is most likely sugary foods and nothing meaty (at least, any earth meats) but those teeth weren’t made for eating. They were made to tear out some throats and cause serious damage. At least, back then.
Now they’re just used to show off (and its fun to draw sharp teefs)
