Magi: Red String Of Fate

Magi: Red String Of Fate

People are told that fate cannot be changed, that your destiny is already written and falling into depravity is the only way one can follow their own ambition and will.

But that isn't true, people are the masters of their own fates. The rukh's guidance or fate is only a misconception, a residual energy, there is no pre-written fate. The real fate lies within each individual.

It is said that when one is loved by the rukh stained in black, they have the power to change fate. However, they are not the only ones with that ability.

The sacred miracles are the balance. They keep the world in proper order, guide and protect nations against dark forces known as daemons. Their vibrant red rukh is what differentiates them from the rest. They work well with both white rukh and black rukh.

A red thread symbolizes the string connecting someone to their soulmate, their true love. The crimson rukh knows the individual's deepest desires and intentions and that's why the red thread originated from the crimson rukh.

When the new world was created after Alma Torran's fall, the sacred miracles could only protect the world against daemons and not Al thamen was because they were incomplete. But a millenia later, their king was finally born and with his birth, Al Thamen and daemons gain strength.

With Al Thamen and daemons strarting to become bolder, the Sacred Miracles have no choice but to fight back with extra measures, to ensure their victory and the world's safety.

The Magi Of Alma Torran [09] || Hakuryuu Ren

heavy weighs the duty.

The Magi Of Alma Torran [09] || Hakuryuu Ren

All you want to do is take a peek at the empress regnant, at Gyokuen who is possessed by Arba who you once considered your friend. And maybe, deep down in your heart, you still view her as a friend. After all, you used to fight together for a better tomorrow, protected one another and celebrated each win together, side by side. Such times are in the past, but occasionally you hope that you can trigger a change of heart within your deprived friend, hoping that she would pass away in peace, give Gyokuen her mind and body back and perhaps save Hakuryuu's soul this way.

But the prince's hatred, his lust for revenge and blood runs as deep as the sea.

You must stick out like a sore thumb as you stroll through Rakushou's streets, silken gowns elegantly following each movement of your body and your jewelry menacingly glaring back at the sun. Once again, you do not belong in this world, in this timeline. If destiny hadn't been meddled with, you would've long since been dead, resting in the Great Flow with your beloved friends and watching the world unfold from afar.

Such thoughts cloud your brain until you barely realize that you knocked someone over. A woman with reddish hair kept together by a detailed hairpin and carrying..Vinea with her.

"My apologies!," you blurt out and help the young woman to her feet. "I wasn't looking where I was going."

As the young lady stands on her own two feet again, she looks like she's about to whine or let out her attitude; you can't tell which is more likely. But instead, she, named Kougyoku, stares at you with an open mouth.

"You're Hakuryuu's Magi..," she breathes.

To your pleasant surprise, the young princess is easy to get along with. She takes you to the far outskirts of Rakushou where not a single house stands, where not a single soul would pass the two of you. Hurriedly, Kougyoku had pulled you outside the capital and asked to speak with you regarding the empire's imminent demise.

Sitting in the high meadow with you remaining afloat on your staff, she finally gains the courage to ask what's been burning on her mind.

"Why do you stay by Hakuryuu's side, [Name]?," the princess asks casually as she weaves flowers into one another. She is clumsy, but determination is locked behind her bright eyes.

Now that you think about it, you never questioned why exactly you remain by Hakuryuu's side when you're free to leave at any time. Nothing binds you to the fallen prince and his more than vulgar Magi, yet you continue to stay and even want to help him achieve his goal of finishing Arba once and for all.

You gaze over Rakushou, filled with pure Rukh, laughter and chatter, but in the far distance, atop the hill where the current palace and its empress regnant remains, there sits a black hole threatening to swallow the world whole. Although the princess can't see the deprives mass, you point your finger towards the palace and Kougyoku follows your line of sight curiously.

"Our goals align," you say softly but the look on your face is a stern one. "The goal to make a certain someone fall once and for all."

You like the young princess, but you can't tell her what happened back then in Alma Torran. It's bad enough that Hakuryuu and Judar know of another world which is still in shambles and will most likely never recover. Whoever told them about Alma Torran..you're uncertain whether to thank them or punish them for breaking King Solomon's rule.

Kougyoku frowns and looks at the little flower crown she made with insecure hands. So you would help Hakuryuu start a civil war, split the country and kill Gyokuen? She can't understand it. If you are a Magi, then why would you encourage setting an empire on fire?

If you weren't a Magician of Creation, she would fight you in order to protect what is dearest to her, but Kougyoku also knows that compared to you, she is nothing but an ant.

"[Name], if you plan on causing Kou's demise, I fear we will meet again on the battlefield." She gets up from her seat in the meadow, stands in front of you and cups her fist with one hand. "However, I would also like to ask you to look after the empire! My brothers are ready to kill Hakuryuu, but if possible..please, protect him."

Ever-so-slightly, your eyes widen and it's the first time you realize just how many people care for the prince who unsealed you from Belial's dungeon. His sister wants him to be safe, Kougyoku asks you to protect not only him, but also the empire in case it is on the verge of falling.

The longer you remain in this world, the more you realize that you have indeed a duty, a responsibility to carry.

You slide from your seat on your staff and place a hand on top of your heart, bowing your head with a smile on your lips.

"I shall see to it that this unstable time for the empire will pass as smoothly as possible, princess."

The Magi Of Alma Torran [01] || Hakuryuu Ren

a new destiny.

The Magi Of Alma Torran [01] || Hakuryuu Ren

Pity is all you feel for the black King Vessel as lie after lie falls from his mouth which is filled with blood. The crimson liquid stains his once pristine white clothing and trickles from the corner of his mouth like water from an overflowing sink. Lies are to be punished with cuts to the flesh and if that young prince isn't careful, he would perish sooner or later.

Hakuryuu clutches the cut along his chest, pulls himself back to his feet and kills the illusion of his sister who he used to hold so dear. Her image disappears into golden smoke, yet the blood spurting from her body feels very much real. "No matter how many illusions you show me, I won't turn back to a path of hypocrisy. You should just submit to me, djinn!"

"We will never give the metal vessel to a black king," Belial speaks with his arms crossed over his chest. The ornaments of his arms and chest ominously clink against one another.

"We? That's funny!," Judar laughs despite being heavily wounded himself. He points at you standing right next to the djinn of truth and conviction. "Your girlie hasn't moved an inch the entire time we've been here! To me, it looks like she wants you to be conquered, Belial."

Oh, how badly you want to say no and step in to aid the djinn who's been keeping you company all this time. But it's not your place to speak up nor play an active role in this world where you aren't supposed to be. You choose to let the fallen Magi laugh. You choose not to play an active part or else destiny would lose its natural flow.

After all, it's destiny that Belial is about to become the fallen prince's Metal Vessel.

And who are you to meddle with such a fickle thing?

"Submit to my king, Belial!," Judar shouts, raises both hands and shapes lightning of black color, the air crackling in a sinister way. His magic creeps along the walls and treasury of the ceiling like Ill Ilah's own hands are about to lure you into the depths of depravity.

Belial's fist collides with Judar's discharging lightning. The clash of dark and light makes the dungeon crumble bit by bit as if it was a house of cards. Chunks of jade fall from the ceiling, treasures of high value disappear into the depths of the dungeon as the ground beneath your feet is gradually ripped open.

Your Borg protects you from the malicious magic and the dropping chunks, but it doesn't protect you from the view you witness once the smoke has settled. "Belial..," you whisper in shock.

In front of you, Belial is on the ground. Ropes of black lightning cover his torso and limbs, rendering the mighty djinn immobile. He struggles against the restraints, against the natural law that is about to bind him to a black King Vessel that he tried to purify. But all effort is futile. Belial is just like a fish caught in the net.

"Your own destiny has started, [Name]." Belial's gaze finds your frowning face and he gifts you a smile before his being becomes one with the King Vessel.

"My own..?"

"What a sob story," Judar comments and tilts his head to the side as he regards your still passive form. Something about the way the Rukh flock to you and kiss that golden staff of yours ticks the Magi off. He narrows his crimson eyes at you. "I wonder what a mere woman is doing here. Maybe we shouldㅡ"

"Cut it out, Judar," Hakuryuu interrupts his Magi's train of thought, although his own blue gaze rests on your borg-protected form for a beat too long. "We should get going before this place crushes us."

Judar puts his hands on his hips and sighs. "As you command, my king."

You watch the duo disappear through an eight-pointed star while the dungeon ceases to exist. Chunks of gold, silver, jade and everything valuable crumbles in on itself. Clouds of smoke fill the once vast treasury.

As always, you remain passive and unfazed.

If this dungeon is going down then so are you.

The Magi Of Alma Torran [01] || Hakuryuu Ren

"I'm happy we didn't end up too far away from each other!" Judar crosses his arms behind his head, his feet catching up with Hakuryuu who is a few steps ahead of him. The fallen Magi smiles at the glowing star on Hakuryuu's shoulder and wonders just what kind of Metal Vessel Belial is.

"It saves me the trouble of searching several days for you and wasting time." Several plants are cut out of the way by the blade of Hakuryuu's naginata.

"Did I hear that right? Searching for me would be a waste of time? That almost hurt, Hakuㅡ What the hell?" The Magi's bare feet stumble upon a golden staff with a crimson gem in the middle; a staff his eyes know well despite having seen it for a maximum of a few minutes.

"What's wrong, Judar?" Curious, Hakuryuu joins his Magi's side. Not too far away, he spots you lying in the tall grass, obviously unconscious but not injured whatsoever. Right, you used to be in Belial's dungeon. Not as a fellow conqueror, but not as a guardian of said djinn, either. You were just there.

Golden bracelets and necklaces adorned with several gems decorate your body. The turban with the attached headdress is slightly out of place and reveals a third eye drawn on your forehead with what Hakuryuu thinks is red paint.

If Hakuryuu didn't know any better, he would assume that you are of noble status. Maybe even a princess of a foreign state, but your clothing and ornaments were more foreign than anything else outside of Kou.

Judar pokes your unconscious body with his staff that looks more like a polearm than anything else. You don't react, letting the sharp edges brush over your cheek. He grins. "Hah, I didn't notice it before but this shorty is a Magi. The Rukh around her piss me off, though."

"Another Magi?," Hakuryuu inquires, disbelief laced in his voice and his eyes widening ever-so-slightly. "Is such a thing even possible?" According to his knowledge, each era has merely three Magi and not five.

"Beats me." Shrugging his shoulders, Judar squats down to your face, his own remaining unimpressed. The Rukh surrounding you are as pure as can be, blinding with a strange sense of wisdom buried in their wings. Even Judar's black Rukh are attracted to you; how irritating these birds and your existence are.

"What do you think? Should we kill her? She could end up being a pain in the ass, y'know?"

Hakuryuu cocks his hip to the side, his eyes rest on your body. Considering you are Belial's ally, it would be correct to assume you would seek revenge due to Judar having forced the djinn into submission. On the other hand, you never fought Hakuryuu or his Magi or defended Belial.

If Hakuryuu plays his cards right, you could become a valuable ally to him.

"No. We'll take her with us."
