That Episode Made It Imposible For Me To Read Any Fanfic With Bad Parent Bruce, Like The Man Would Probably
That episode made it imposible for me to read any fanfic with bad parent Bruce, like the man would probably addopt Ace if he could.
But anyway Spade's obsesion could be repaying worth people for their kindness. It would make sense for her dying self to feel at peace like in that episode but also feel like she needed to do something in return for Batman and people like him who help others dispite the risks and without expecting something in return.
Maybe have her death be some time after Jay's death making it harder for Bruce because he just lost his own (favourite) child and now he had to play with another child for the last time (he thinks).
Have Spade spend YEARS alone in her "lair" without a guide to her new existence, maybe when some of the bats died in comics and return without pit madness, she is the reason why. She is repaying batman by making sure that if he meets his children when he dies they won't be that diffrent to how they where alive and the fact that those little bats got resurected makes her so happy (she saw Bruce devastated face when she was dying in his arms and she read how unbearably painfull Jay's death hit him, that orphaned man deservses to have his kids back).
And then, after latest yet to be fully manifested ghost of the bat-child returned to the living world, she went to the swing and stayed there like always waiting for another chance to feel this great feeling of something (fullfiling her obsession). She was there alone again for how long who knows she lost the track of time years ago (at least she thinks it was years ago) until she met him, something someone like her who played with her, talk to her, taught her, intruduced her to her first real friends. Only one other person treated her this well and cared this much (she can read minds she knows it) but even Bruce didn't stay this long with her. She needed to repay him, she felt it in her very core. But how you repay a ghost king?
[Side note Ace/Spade manifested in ghostzone Ghotham Park, but being so power scared away ghosts who normaly help new dead because there is no way a new ghost would be this strong, right? And dead bats started their manifestation there because the zone knew that they would be safe there.]
She might have develop a crush on king Phantom but can you blame her (stop laughing Ember) he is so kind, and strong, and understanding, and you get the idea. So imagine her shock when somebody casually mentions the he is in fact both dead&alive... They forgot to tell her. So she grills the girls during tea time for Danny and when she learns...
Oh boy is she pissed. BUT also she now knows how to repay him, so she opens up to him about her death and tells him that Batman may work with JL who then works with goverment who works with GiW, but Batman is first and formost hero of the people and fights for the world where no other child will dying alone or watch their loved ones murder. Danny is slightly hurt after being called a child he is 16 or 14+2, that is almost an adult thank you very much.
But Danny trusts her and he realy needs back up because his parents are getting more radical and obsessive and Jazz is this much from starting a custody battle with them, even frutiloop is concered. So one weekend they fly all the way to Gotham (Sam is sad that she had to stay behind because this city has the vibe) and chill out on the swing and wait for bat to land.
Okay. So- I've been reading a lot of Batman X Danny Phantom stuff on this site lately, and I came across a short post that included Batman finding Phantom's grave(it was a corpse au) and mentally comparing Danny to Ace. A girl who wanted to be a child yet who was too powerful and ended up dying with our resident Batdad sitting next to her up until her last moments in a fake world she made for herself in a bid for happiness. (I might be wrong about Ace's personality or motivations cuz I only rly remember Ace because of how she died, so plz bear with me if I'm wrong)
Now, a thing about Ace is that when she died, she was wearing a black/white leotard with a single clover suit on one side. And I've discovered that the Ace of Spades can depressingly enough be represented as death and bad luck.
And so(here's where the DP comes in), I'm introducing a ghost called:
Spade ♤
For her appearance I'm thinking white porcelain like skin for how delicate she felt in her final moments. Maybe inked details all across her like tattoos or like how fancy playing cards have to show how who she WAS wasn't entirely up to her to decide. Her white bobcut hair looks like it was shattered/cut off a larger part and is able to cut those who aren't careful enough, and that there's a crack across the top of her head to showcase as a deathmark that she died from a fatal migraine(maybe?). (The crack doubles as her hairline-) Her eyes being the same rings of yellow and orange(or maybe whatever their inverse counterparts are...) that appeared when she used her powers, but with her black pinprick eyes at the centers. Her actual FACE I'm thinking her eye lashes, lips and eyebrows look painted on in black ink. Cuz, come on. If Danny can hav black eyebrows as Phantom, so can Spade-
Outfit wise, I kinda want to put her in a reverse colored leotard and call it a day, but I ALSO wanna add onto that. Because the thing about her last moments is that Batsy carried her body out of the park where she was staying in her fantasy land in a princess carry, so I'm imagining her in a fancy dress/leotard amalgamation cuz that princess carry might've the last comfort she might've received before her body got buried(or smth along those lines). If this post gets popular, I want art of that leotard/dress amalgamation with playing cards detailing cuz while I draw, I already know I'd butcher the idea 😅
DP plot could just be Danny transversing the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms for one reason or another and coming across this mad hatter, Alice in Wonderland type lair/area(think the world Ace made Gotham into) where after stumbling through everything in it, he just meets this black and white ghost girl sitting on a isolated swing set. There's only two seats on it, and she's just swinging back and forth on one of them. Danny must figure she's waiting on company and maybe just watches for a while. She'd look just like a statue if not for the fact that she just keeps swinging, and swinging, and swinging, and Danny's getting the idea that this is just another lonely ghost in the zone. Peaceful, and wants to be left alone, but maybe could use a friend. So, Danny sits next to her on the other swing.
Tdlr; Spade and Danny become friends after he stumbles across her lair and started showing her other parts of the zone.
Spade's closest friends are Princess Dora, Youngblood, Klempter, Danielle, and other ghosts among her mental age. But of course, she considers her best friend to be the black and white Phantom who got her out of her lair and living a better afterlife. She wants to pay him back, and sees how badly his afterlife has been treating him (wait- he's not entirely dead?) Scratch that, she wants her friend to live the rest of his half-life as happily as possible. She, personally, is happier in death than in her life, but she doesn't want his remaining life to suck, and who better to introduce him to than the man who made her last moments bearable? Or... should she say the Bat who made it bearable >:3c
Dadadada~! We've arrived at the DC plot!
So, Spade being a frickin overpowered ghost(cuz if she wasn't overpowered enough as a human, you can BET that she's OP as hell after getting ghostly) cows all Danny's usual rogues gallery into leaving his haunt alone until she can get done introducing him to someone who was her father-figure for all of however long he sat with her before she unalived. Danny as Phantom is going along with it cuz why not, free vacation! Sam & Tucker were skeptical, but they can't fault Spade for wanting to introduce her new friend to her old life(?).
The DC timeline is messy, and I only know about Ace because of Justice League Unlimited. The show which has NONE of Batman's sidekicks in it cuz Nightwing was getting enough screen time in Teen Titans. And idk how long Spade spent along in Time Is Weird Here, Infinite Realms, but I rly want her to meet the Batfam and hav this rly heartwarming reunion after Oracle tells Batsy about a disturbance near this one swing-set where reality's getting kinda weird and he just KNOWS-
He knows he's gotten a second chance, and if that means getting blindsided by the fact he and the batfam are highly likely to become an Infinite Realms ghost cuz of the highentened levels of ectoplasm from his new/old child's visits, then so be it. The fact that Phantom's still living under his ghost hunter parents roof actually makes it easier to file for custody if it comes down to it...
(Idk Ace's character & DC's plot enough to flesh out an obsession for Spade that fits with all the other nonsense I've just spat out. If someone wants to try and puzzle smth out, I'll be grateful for the opportunity to read it. This has heavy ship potential, but I'm no writer so I've just put Spade and Danny as friends. But if there's gonna be a name, I wanna try for Mad Ghost, Ghost Hatter, Phantom Card or smth along those lines. For my first dp x dc prompt I've ever written, I'm just hoping Ace as a character gets a little more love as a dead DC character, cuz that shiz made me cry when I first watched it ages ago- XD)

I don’t have a date for you, but the Blindsprings webcomic WILL be returning in 2023! I hope to see you then!
Thank you
*picks you up and tosses you gently into the foam pit*
I am okay with this, so it can only get better.
Past age 30 when you play games or watch shows, you develop a need to adopt characters who absolutely need a parent in their life.
I need more eldritch au, like how is Marinette feeling about becoming a god? demigod? an avatar?
How does it influence Adrien or Garbiel?
Does Garbiel also get positive "side effects" or is misusing Norro slowly cursing him?
Also, can Kagami predict weather or influence it?
Miraculous, but a bit eldritch and also Kagaminette
Marinette was an enigma.
Maybe that was too far, but the other words wouldn’t come to mind. Kagami looked to the girl, and wondered.
Marinette exaggerated her clumsiness. Plausible deniability, she had whispered when she thought no one could hear her. An excuse for the bruises.
Kagami had been moved to the school after long hours of asking (begging). She could observe her “love rival” more closely this way. She could almost ignore the knowing sighs as someone talked about their akumatised form, how Marinette could gently push a conversation away from the identity of the hero’s of Paris and onto baking or some other menial thing, how Marinette had caught Alyas head just before it hit the table when she passed out that one time. She had moved with too much grace, too much purpose. Almost like she was expecting it, but that wouldn’t make sense because Marinette is clumsy and a little bit scatterbrained.
Occasionally, Kagami would watch Marinette sniff the air, and snap her head towards something unknown. Her gentle whisper of “akuma” to whoever was closest was barely perceptible. Kagami realised that she was trying to put the idea into someone’s head, so that they would be the one to shout “RUN RUN AKUMA ALERT” or something of the sort.
Marinette was protective, she could move with frightening speed when someone was hurt. When someone in another class had a seizure in the bathroom, it was Marinette who found them. No one else even knew that they had gone, but somehow Marinette was there. She made up some joke about a “baker sense”, and the questions fell away.
She always seemed to be looking down on people though. Not in a negative way, but in a more exasperated guardian angel way. She knew almost everything about everyone but people didn’t really know Marinette past the facade. She was floating above it all, things bothered her sure but she could reel in her emotions so fast any bad emotions were imperceptible. Sometimes she would stare at someone, considering them. That person would almost always have an akuma running after them, and Marinette was always there to stop it.
It was almost as if she could sense emotions. But that wasn’t right. She was just more perceptive than anyone have her credit for.
Ladybug and Chat Noir were also enigmas, but they seemed older. No one could quite say what they looked like, despite knowing that they only wore domino masks. Everyone knew that they should be well aware of what the hero’s identities were, but the head spin and ache behind the eyes whenever you tried to look deeper than the surface was unbearable. Some sort of glamour, or maybe they were something else.
There were conspiracies about their true identities. Some outlandish. The claims of them not being human were the worst, talking about them being heralds of the apocalypse or some eldritch gods. They were wrong, obviously. But some conspiracies talked about them being human, at one point, but being changed by the jewels that hawkmoth coveted.
Ideas like this terrified Kagami, herself a wielder of a miraculous. She wondered if she was being changed every time she was called to battle fantastical beasts that were also the citizens of Paris.
Granted, Kagami had always been liked being warm, maybe needing to sleep with twice as many blankets was normal. Nothing cold blooded about that. Her unusual appetite for raw meat was also excusable, she was Japanese after all, sushi was in her culture. Her mother seemed pleased that she was taking even more of an interest in her cooking.
She had heard tales of people going into cardiac arrest, mostly journalists who had come close to revealing the identities of any of the miraculous users. Seemingly, only miraculous holders could reveal identities. Alya got a nose bleed when she tried to bounce ideas off the class about who hawkmoth was. Marinette was there to catch her.
Back to pondering Marinette, after a long akuma battle and a short nap. Kagami wanted to observe her further, and them being friends was a good enough excuse. Kagami tried to ignore the way Marinettes eyes bore into her as she walked towards her.
“A fencing spar? Why not?”
So the date was set. Not a date! Absolutely not Kagami was not gaining a growing crush on her they’re were love rivals.
Still, wouldn’t hurt to flirt a bit, nothing like practicing your skills on a beautiful girl to prepare to flirt with a beautiful guy…. It was a good plan alright!
The day came quickly, and to be honest Kagami wasn’t expecting much. Maybe a win to confirm that her suspicions were false, and that Marinette was just very clumsy. And at first, that’s just what happened. Marinette falling face first onto the mat, Kagami laughing as she helped her up. Twice. Then they started sparring properly. For Kagami at least.
But the tensing of Marinettes muscles told her something, and the nervous glance every time their swords met confirmed it. She was holding back. And not because she didn’t think that Kagami could take it. No, Marinette was holding back because she was scared. Scared of hurting someone.
And Kagami told her as such. Told her (then yelled) to stop holding back. That she could take it. The yelling was too far, Kagami knew that as the words left her mouth. But Marinette froze, and clutched the side of her head.
Then ran at Kagami, knocking her to the floor. She tried to fight back, but Marinette was so strong and not fully present. She looked like she had seen a ghost, pinning Kagami to the floor. The white of her fencing uniform was enough to stop it from hurting, because of course the day she had a scheduled spar her red one would need repairs.
Kagami could just about keep Marinettes hands off her throat, and she noticed some things. One; Marinette looked terrified and angry and lost all at the same time, two; she had a light scar just under her eye (where a domino mask would sit). And three: she looked beautiful, and desperate.
It took thirty seconds for Marinette to snap out of it. Kagami knew this, because she counted every agonising milisecond.
But Marinette fell away, clutching at her head again, breathing hard and uneven. Tears were streaming down her face, dripping onto the mat. And Kagami, Kagami shuffled over and held her. Let her tears soak into her lamé. Let her croaky whispers of sorry be muffled against her hair.
Kagami practically forced her to sleepover after that. They had planned to anyway, but Marinette had tried to wiggle out of an explanation. The bags under her eyes didn’t help her case, nor did the limp she was now actually showing rather than masterfully covering up. She laughed meekly, and said she hadn’t packed any clothes. Kagami told her that she could borrow hers.
Holding her hand, partly for comfort but also to stop her from running away, they entered Kagamis house. Her mother was out for the night, so they had free reign. Kagami ordered way too much Pizza, but Marinette had laughed when it arrived so she didn’t mind.
Full, drowsy and the days evens all but forgotten, Kagami asked what happened. Marinettes face had darkened at that, mind clearly running through excuses that would be believable without causing concern. She didn’t get to answer.
Something red and fast and smelling of cookies appeared from her pocket. And Marinette looked mortified. Kagamis head spun, and she realised just what that red thing was.
“A kwami?!”
Oh that came out far to incredulously. She cleared her throat.
“You’re a kwami, aren’t you. Like Longg”
The red thing nodded, turned to Marinette, made some wild gesture, and disappeared again.
Everything made sense. Marinettes little oddities, the bruises, the scars, the limp was from ladybug being thrown off a roof just an hour prior to their spar. That made Kagami feel guilty, she should’ve noticed. Marinette just looked at her kindly, a bit sad but kindly.
She was ladybug. And the mantle of Ladybug was some eldritch being, a God of creation. Older than everything but destruction. That should have terrified Kagami, but it didn’t. She felt comforted, but she knew that the feeling was Marinettes doing. Maybe subconscious. Probably not.
Kagami busied herself, wrapping Marinettes sprained (it was broken earlier) ankle in a compress, wiping the tears and leftover makeup off her face with a softness that surprised her. Not Marinette though. Kagami wondered if she could be surprised by anything.
They chatted after that, talking about all sorts, schoolwork, teachers, books, tv shows, the theological repercussions of there being a literal God of creation and destruction and the possible societal effects of revealing them. Marinette joked about being the Avatar, like the anime.
She then fell asleep on Kagamis shoulder while the episode about the egg tart was playing. Her soft snores tussled Kagamis hair, and she felt incredibly loved and safe again. They both slept easy after that.
Kagami awoke to Marinette climbing through the window. An akuma, of course. Appeared late in the night and didn’t go till the early hours of the morning. She looked tired, and Kagami drew back the covers to let her slip in next to her again. The body heat was nicer than the blankets anyway.
Their relationship evolved from there. Marinette liked physical contact, especially when she was in the throes of an episode, and Kagami was all to happy to give it freely. The calm that resonated off her was intoxicating. Kagamis favourite thing to do was watch her while she was concentrated, she seemed more human at those times. Tongue sticking out slightly, squinting at the maths paper before her. She could have asked the old god that hid in her pocket for help, but said that was cheating so she didn’t.
Sometimes Marinette would get flashes of memories. Not from her life, but from the previous holders of the miraculous Ladybug. Memories of love, pain, mostly pain the life of a holder was filled with danger. Sometimes Kagami would get memories too, extended use of the dragon miraculous would do that. Hers were usually more volatile, the holders of the dragon being less powerful than the creation or destruction mantle. Marinette held her hand even as she squeezed it hard enough to break.
Marinette healed quick anyway, yet another perk of the Ladybug.
Kagami grounded her, with a hand, with a hug, with a kiss when nothing else worked. The kiss was nice, the feeling of safe just seeping further into her being. She didn’t call them girlfriends, more like some demigod and their enchanted mortal partner. Marinette called them girlfriends though, so Kagami followed suit soon after. The class was surprised, shocked, except Adrien.
Alix tried to get them to break up, but Marinette muddled and fogged her with her words and suddenly they forgot why they were even trying to break them up. An abuse of her powers, but a needed one. The subtle red glow behind her pupils grew when she smiled. No one else tried anything after Alix. Lila wanted to, Kagami could tell, but she couldn’t seem to get within five feet of them. Or Adrien. Oh well, they both liked the boy, nothing wrong with giving him a few dating tips to get the couffaine boy. Him and Marinette shared a knowing look, a friendly smile.
It felt like the meeting of two gods. But that wasn’t right. Adrien couldn’t be chat noir.
Oh goddamn it. Kagami you’ve got to stop falling for the holders of ancient eldritch gods who are slowly being changed by the very jewels that hold the gods.
Thank you if you read this far, sorry if it was confusing and way to waffley, ive been listening to TMA and reading TES lore.
I am pretty sure that they want you to vist your parents
How many death threats do you recieve each day and for what reasons mostly?
I don't receive them daily I usually receive them like once a week and usually they don't give me a reason they just tell me it's time I meet my maker.
