When your boss, Mr. Jung, has a favor to ask.

I had gotten to the office earlier than normal. I couldn’t sleep and figured why not. I was greeted by the doorman, both of us nodding in acknowledgement. I head up to the top floor via the very spacious elevator. I swear this thing is bigger than the bathroom in my apartment. Walking out of the elevator, all I could hear was the clacking of my heels. I should come in earlier more often. It’s nice to not be disturbed. Once I reached my desk, I started setting everything up. I almost dropped my coffee mug when I heard a noise coming from my boss’s office. As scared as I was to open the door, I knew I couldn’t let an intruder snoop around Mr. Jung’s office. I took off my heels and grabbed one. Guess I can use this if need be. I quickly opened the door screaming “freeze” to be met by my very confused boss. I instantly put my heel back down to my side.

“Miss L/N, what in the world are you doing?” I noticed how flustered he was, and I’m sure I looked similar. 

“I’m sorry sir, I thought there was an intruder.”

“And you were planning to do what exactly if I was?”

“Attack him with my heel…” I looked down, realizing how dumb of an idea it was.

“Well, I appreciate your willingness to protect my office, but I don’t need my secretary getting hurt.”

“Yes sir. I’ll just go back to my desk.” As I began to turn around, I was interrupted by him clearing his throat.

“Could you, umm, actually help me with something?”

“Yes sir, of course. What do you need?”

“I seem to not be able to get my tie right this morning. Could you please tie it for me?”

I was a little taken aback. Mr. Jung had never asked me to do something like this. He wasn’t a bad boss; he just wasn’t this personal. I must have been standing there too long because I was brought back to the present by his voice.

“Never mind, that was a dumb question.”

“No sir, I can help you.” I set my heel down and walked over to him, taking the tie out of his hands. “I am here to help. I will do anything you ask of me.” 

“I am forever grateful.” He watched my movements. “How do you know how to tie and tie?”

“I used to work as a waitress, and it was part of our uniform.” I looked up from my hands to see him watching my face not my hands. I could feel a blush creep up my neck. He was handsome, but in a soft, light way. I knew he was handsome but being this close was almost shocking.

“Well, I didn’t know my secretary had so many talents.” He smiled at me. A smile I had never seen before. I couldn’t help but smile back. “Thank you for your help, Miss L/N.”

“You’re welcome. Let me know if you need anything else.” I then realized I still hadn’t taken my hands off the tie. I jerked them back, bowed a little bit, and turned to leave.

“There is one last thing I need.” I spun back around. “Please call my Hoseok when it’s just the two of us. We’ve worked together long enough.” Again with that smile.

“Yes sir. You can call me Y/N. I’m going to finish getting ready for the day. See you in a little bit,” I paused, “Hoseok.” With that, I left his office, with a smile bigger than I thought possible and a very blushed face.
