An Actually Short Reading List
I’ve seen a lot of Short, Introductory, Beginner’s reading lists with ten or twenty links, and, well, they’re intimidating. While you might not want to leave off something important, if everyone gets scared off by your list, nobody reads anything. So, let’s try something a bit more approachable! Here are three easy-to-read works.
Principles of Communism
If you’re new to communism, this short-ish work will introduce you to… the principles of communism! Engels’s writing style can be a bit difficult, and he references a lot of old-timey stuff (what’s a spinning-jenny?), but it’s a good introduction!

On Authority
If you like the thought of communism, but are wary of ‘authoritarian’ or ‘totalitarian’ communism, this very short (one page!) text might help you understand why historically, communists have supported those measures (hint: if they just wanted power, they wouldn’t be siding with the powerless!).

Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong
Quotations from Chairman Mao, while longer than the last two works, is made up of small, self-contained… quotations, which are individually easy to read (and reread), and if you’re interested in learning more about a topic, you can always check out the work the quote is referenced from. This ‘little red book’ discusses communist perspectives on topics ranging from education, the military, and study, to self-criticism and culture.
Mao’s writing style is, I find, much easier to read, and the little red book covers such a wide range of topics that, if you only try to read one of these, I’d say to try this one. If feudal peasants were able to study and understand it, so can you!

This is a collection of links to various posts concerning fundraisers I've vetted and instructions on how to submit fundraisers to me. These are primarily ones for Ghazzan families although some fundraisers for Sudanese families are also listed (I'm more familiar with my own country's politics and dialect and am more capable of vetting fundraisers for Palestinians as a result). Each post will have a time stamp indicating the latest date of update. And fundraisers will have colour-coded disclaimers according to the particularities of their case.
I know that people do not like clicking on links or navigating between posts, but please actually look through these posts and choose a fundraiser to donate to. Please.

Instructions on fundraiser-sharing submission - post for those who are not Ghazzan

This post isn't for checking specific tumblr accounts that may or may not be scamming, I do not have instructions for those. This post is specifically for those who are asking me to verify fundraisers and boost them. These instructions may be subject to change depending on circumstances. Please regularly check version date to see if anything has changed. I will only update the version date if I changed or added an instruction, to make this easier.
Disclaimer: If you do not follow these instructions correctly I reserve myself the right to delete your ask. I get an exhorbitant amount of these daily and I cannot spend time running after everyone to get the correct links and to get the social media accounts required for me to verify this info. Know that doing this correctly will help speed up the process and permit the fundraiser you are sending me to get more visibility quicker. The following elements have to be in your ask message:
1: You must donate 5 USD to at least one of the verified fundraisers already on my lists and provide proof of said payment. So I can verify that you did this, include the name of the individual, or their number on the list(s) of fundraisers. This is per fundraiser vetting request, and not per individual. Meaning if you want me to verify three fundraisers, you can either donate 15 USD to the same fundraiser, or you can split the 5 USD between two or three fundraisers.
2: Now for the actual fundraiser you want me to verify, the fundraiser link has to have photos of the individuals who need help. Preferably before and after photos of themselves or their lives. I cannot verify their identities unless photos are included. If there are no photos of the individuals, at best it will be placed in the unvetted but trustworthy list.
3: Include a public social media account link for at least one of the people involved. If they do not have the fundraiser in their account's bio, I will have to contact the account directly to verify the veracity of the fundraiser. I do not mind doing this but it will be time consuming and sometimes I never hear a response back. Only send me Tumblrs, Instagrams or TikTok accounts. I do not have Facebook or Twitter, I cannot verify anything on those platforms, or any other platform for that matter.
4: Send me gofundme links that look like this:

If you send me a link that looks like the latter, I will simply delete the ask and move onto another one. I've clarified over a hundred times on this blog that I cannot open links that have a string of numbers and letters after the slash, regardless of the device I'm using.
Final word: I am doing all of this by myself, with no assistance, while I continue to live a busy life on top of what I'm going through and the personal losses I've incurred during this accelerated genocide. Please be patient with me, and try not to send multiple asks unless it's absolutely necessary (such as to fix incorrect information you have previously sent). I am doing the best I can under my circumstances.

I haven't had to make one of these in a while because I have been (or thought I had been) saving money where I'm living now compared to where I was living before, but as it turns out (extremely long story short) the government recently split my disability between federal and provincial amounts and the province of Br*tish C*lumbia has just! not! been paying me! since the switch! found out today when I tried to pay rent and bills and pay back my gf for use of her credit card! which I can't do any of! been spending as though half of my disability was present when it wasn't all these months, which is now biting me in the ass! the estimated processing time on the government's end was "I don't know sweetie it could be a while, these things take time now with the communication between federal and our side for verification"
so anyway, I am in need of several hundred Canadian dollars to tide me over until they figure this shit out, kinda urgently because I had been expecting to go into town for grocery shopping next week and there is no way this is done by next week (and out in this rural area groceries are kind of expensive) and I need to pay my gf back as she needs to pay off her card and pay rent due...tomorrow...

Gaza's municipality is trying to raise money to fix and restore Gaza's water system. Please support them by boosting and/or donating
"Non-hierarchical"/"horizontal"/"consensus-based" organizing/decision-making is a great way to go completely fucking insane
I'd like to bring to attention another fundraiser which also really needs your support, and it's that of the Abushammala family. This is a family which has been separated due to the war. Amal is trying to get her family out of Gaza to reunite with her.
In the past few months, everything which is familiar to them, their home, their streets, their neighborhood, has been demolished. They've had to evacuate and have been on the run, struggling to find healthy food and clean water. And through all this, her family has persevered and shown their resilience, even as the occupation has been bombing them and cutting access to food and water.
You can see Amal's 2 sisters, Tala and Eman, in the video linked below talking about their family's situation and requesting your help.
They will need to raise funds in order to not only cross the border, but relocation fees and living expenses. They still need your support. Their fundraiser is nearly €8000 off of their goal.
