Anyway, I’ve been drawing some SU-related content which is still under wraps, and I’ve also been having fun playing Minecraft with some friends in my free time from work! And I made this lady here for it, humbly calling herself Princess, she’s actually a Wither Skeleton Princess (because they look super cool, don’t @ me) I’ve been trying some spooky vibes with this and really like the painterly look. I’m a bit weary about sharing personal pieces since a lot of you came for SU, but I hope you enjoy this sort of content as well <3 I put a lot of time and effort into each piece and I hope it shows. Sometimes I feel so out of touch as an artist on social media. I wanna draw, I wanna share my ideas, but I feel like if I'm not gonna dedicate my entire free time to be an art machine, there's just no point to even try. You have to follow the trends, you have to follow the new cool shiny thing before it falls back into oblivion and keep doing it if you want just a shred of acknowledgement. And on most platforms it's just so you get a small chance that the algorithm won't crush your work.

I'm admirative of artists who can do that and succeed and thrive, but it seems so pointless and exhausting to me. I get how the system works but I don't think I could ever do that for this long.

I just wanna have fun and make sometimes silly, sometimes cool things. I don't want to just draw 1 thing or style to build a "brand" or only draw existing characters or shows. I want to feel good about my art, experiment, learn, be inspired, inspire others. I don't want to force myself into the next Big thing just Because.

I don't know if that's a hot take or tired or whatnot, but Tumblr is the only place you can actually share longer thoughts on nowadays and I felt like sharing in case others felt the same way or had advice

What the fuck is this new "banned words" stuff I'm seeing on my dashboard. Does tumblr want to have another exodus? Why is every social media becoming like this, having people use stupid stuff like "aliven't" and "unalive" among many others. I hate this.
