I agree with you entirely! And as someone who has DID/dissociative identity disorder, I've noticed that a lot of horror communities tend to demonize systems, or treat us as something to fix and "make whole."

It's insulting how people see disorders like mine as just a scary thing to play with, what these folks don't realize is that like.

Mentally ill people are flesh and blood humans. We're real, and DID isn't a scary mystery disease. Treating us like horror movie monsters does nothing but fuel the ableism that's so deeply rooted in the horror we consume- it's a stigma that even infiltrates psychiatric fields.
