Species dysphoria can cause vomiting, it can cause stomach pain, it can cause fainting, it can cause sleepless nights, it can cause loss of appetite. Species dysphoria can cause withdrawal and isolation. Species dysphoria can cause addiction. It can cause you to pull your hair out and pick your skin. It can cause you to be unable to do certain things. It can change you forever. It can kill you.

has anyone ever talked about prey drive as an alterhuman but not negatively? prey drive doesnt have to be negative, prey drive can be a respect for the circle of life and an acknowledgement that as a human i am now exempt. you dont know me anymore but once upon the stars we crossed paths and you kept me alive one more day and then returned to the earth where you fed the trees and flowers and plants that will feed us again.

Fully prepared to accept my alterhumanity as a symptom of mental illness.

Why?

Because it changes absolutely nothing.

Maybe it's a delusion. Maybe it's a reaction to dissociation. Maybe it's a coping mechanism to hell knows what. Maybe it's the onset of psychosis or related disorders (though I highly doubt it).

But all that doesn't matter, but it's still real to me. It's my experience. It's my identity. It doesn't matter what it's caused by, I still feel how I feel. Just because it's a delusion or disorder to the rest of the world doesn't mean it's not my own personal reality.

At the end of the day, I'm still not human, because that's how I experience my own identity.
