My University Cleared Out Books No One Had Checked Out In 20+ Years, Sold Em For Nothing. I Bought This

My university cleared out books no one had checked out in 20+ years, sold em for nothing. I bought this book for a dollar, and it is one of my most prized possessions. It’s women-centric, it’s feminist, and makes me nostalgic for a life I’ve not yet lived.

If you are a woman, I urged you to buy land. If you have the means, buy land. It is your freedom. Hope you enjoy the few pages I’ve put up. (dunno why some of them are black and white, but oh well)

The loss of nature and woman involves matricide, or the killing of the mother principle in life-cycles and processes, rendering them impossible without technological assistance. This loss is irreversible. For instance, a cow that has been injected with hormones so that she generates dozens of calves a year without birthing any of them is a superovulator who needs surrogate cows and a great deal of reproductive technology in order for the life process begun in her to come to fruition. In this case, the cow is alive and can still be used but the mother in her has been killed. To take another example, soil that has been forced to yield beyond its natural capacity through the use of superseeds and chemical fertility is made barren. Viability must then be achieved either through the use of more chemicals and super superseeds or by the replacement of the soil itself, as is the case with hydroponic culture. The soil is still there to be trod upon (in the former instance), but Mother Earth has been killed. Or again, chickens that are transformed into super egg-producers through hormonal and genetic interferences cannot bring life into being. Their eggs are infertile and their natural brooding instinct has been bred out. Although the chicken is alive for X number of days and lays far too many eggs, the mother-hen in her has been killed. The cow, the soil, the hen have been rendered incapable of bringing forth life on their own. They have become artificially (by the work of man) infertile.

Today I started reading Climate Crisis: Ecofeminism and the Land Question.

I am absolutely ENTHRALLED. The research and paper was completed by the Inanna Publications in Toronto, Canada ( an independent feminist research/press company.) I'm only 28 pages in out of like 480 but I really want this to be something I finish as Ecofeminism is something I've been wanting to learn about since I first got into radical feminsim as I'd like to learn more about saving this planet. I'm gathering quotes and bits that I find interesting and so I thought I'd share over the next however long as I go along in the paper!

Goodnight gals❤️ (10pm here in Queensland, Australia!)
